Love the car but felt that the service could have been better. Lots of confusion regarding immediate repairs that needed to be done. Transfer of title from old car completely BOTCHED. After waiting more than 60 days, I received a new tag instead of the registration to transfer my tag resulting in more cost to get the situation rectified.

Got my car delivered last week. The process was very smooth. I decided to buy the car on Friday and the car delivered on Tuesday. My contact Cat was very helpful and accommodating. I scheduled a mechanic to check the car during the delivery and intended to do that before I hand over my check. To save their hassle to come back to pickup the car and mine to get money back if it doesnât check out. However the big boss for delivery did not allow that. Though Cat was trying to make it happen. I ended up paid first and had my mechanic checked the car right after. All is good. I am a happy owner. A shoutout for Cat and Mitch the delivery gentleman.

Confident long distance purchase: super service!
Warning: loooong post. For anyone thinking about a sight unseen long distance purchase.
I had been searching for just the right Guilia for several months. Nearly bought a couple that were close but stuck to my guns. Finally bought a â17 Q4 with 14k miles out of Pennsylvania. 2000 miles away. Seller was Gettacar. This was about May 2 or so. On May 13 the car shows up at my door on a transport. Itâs Beautiful.
How did I have faith in a sight unseen car purchase? Gettacar provides a 7 day/250 mile test drive wherein the car may be returned for any reason, and a 1 year warranty.
First drive, warning lights for throttle position sensor. I read and clear the code. It comes right back. Now I also get a coolant flow control valve stuck. Car in limp mode.
I take it to a local independent shop Gettacar facilitates with the warranty company to make it as smooth as possible ( nearest dealer is 200 miles away).
Local shop finds coolant leaks to turbo and radiator. $2000 later, (covered) leaks fixed. Throttle position sensor cleared.
Drive home from shop, throttle position sensor warning comes back.
Now, flatbed to dealer. Gettacar brokers everything. Dealer doesnât work with third party Warranty, so Gettacar pays then works with Warrant service for reimbursement $1100 to transport.
Dealer can find nothing wrong. Three test drives, no codes thrown. No codes in memory. Dealer calls independent shop and still nothing.
Bill from Dealer is unknown to me at this point. Time cost only.
I should be getting the car this week.
Frustrating but not unexpected when buying a used car. I knew what I was possibly getting into.
But for piece of mind, I can recommend Gettacar. Also, my test drive period does not start until I have a car to drive with no error codes. So once I get the car back that time will start.
UPDATE:
Itâs been a long wait. I picked up the Guilia on Friday. Over 2 months since purchase and all is good. Here are the details:
The car was delivered to Alfa Romeo of Seattle. The codes were cleared and without them they could not diagnose the issues. The dealer called my local shop but they didnât save the error codes. After two weeks of intermittent test drives and no error codes I asked the dealer to get my windows tinted using their vendor. On the way to the tint shop the car finally threw error codes.
The charcoal canister needed replaced and the coolant flow control valve needed replaced. $1180.00 for repairs. The dealer was awesome to work with, car was washed and gassed up (gas at my expense).
One week later the sunroof broke. Again Gettacar facilitated the repair and communication with the warranty company. $4300 later the sunroof is repaired and the car returned.
Gettacar: terrific service. The dealer did not want to work with the provided third party Warranty service. Gettacar paid for all costs upfront then worked with the Warranty service. The Dealer even commented how good Gettacar was to work with and how often Gettacar told the dealer that they want the car right and the customer happy. The dealer service rep even said it made her want to buy from Gettacar!
To retrieve the car 260 miles from me Gettacar would have paid to transport it back, but I wanted to meet the dealership and ask about the carâs service history and generally see the other cars. A plane flight was $130, Gettacar agreed to pay my expenses to go get the car rather than transport. (It did save them about $800). It could not have been a better experience.
Lastly, the driver side seat switch was broken. The warranty did not cover it. Gettacar paid directly to fix the broken switch.
Summary:
Long distance purchase, know what you are getting into. Be prepared. Make certain you have a way to be whole after delivery.
Gettacar: Highly recommended, without a doubt I would purchase from Gettacar again.
