Across the events industry, ticket service fees cover the total cost of processing a transaction. This includes the ticketing platform and the payment provider that handles the card payment. Some event organisers build this into the face value of the ticket, while others list the face value and add the fee separately.

When purchasing tickets with glistrr, any service fees that will be added to your transaction are highlighted up-front and transparently. After taking a look at your transaction, the service fees came out to 7.3% on top the ticket face value. For context, other platforms charge upwards of 12.5% in service fees.

Sorry to hear that something unexpected came up and you were unable to attend your event. As our support team informed you, the tickets that you purchased were non-refundable and refunds are only available if the event is cancelled or rescheduled.

Refund policies are set by event organisers and are always clearly displayed on the event description before selecting tickets, throughout the checkout process and as a disclaimer before confirming payment.

Most events taking place in the UK do have the option of adding TicketPlan Booking Refund Insurance to your transaction, which protects against cancellation resulting from accidents, travel disruption and unexpected illnesses. Full details of the cover are available during checkout.

Updated reply after reviewer provided information about their own transaction:

The transaction information provided is for an event that took place from 5pm until 9pm on Saturday evening, so the event would have been over by the time you or your friends arrived at the venue at 10pm. This is likely why the venue was already closed - it's not clear whether the venue had another event after this one.

The event's start and end time is listed on the event page where you selected your tickets before purchase. You can find more information about the event on its page at https://www.glistrr.com/events/e/popaganda-world-christmas-party-alibi-belfast-1-2195.

Further update:

After checking your transaction confirmation email, we can see that the event end time for this event was updated by the event organiser after your ticket was purchased. The original event end time, which was set when you purchased your ticket, was 2am. This was updated later by the event organiser to 9pm.

We'll reach out to the event organiser regarding this and our support team will reach out to you directly to follow up.
