1. Reservation procedure inductive to automatic cancellation.
An online reservation is illusionary, 6 months ahead you cannot pay everything immediately but have to wait until a moment they send a precarious e-mail you may never see. If you miss it and don’t react until 30 days before departure your booking is cancelled BUT your deposit is CASHED IN!
Subsequent reservation by phone on the day of travel is then possible when space is available but the quoted price is 200€ (25-30%) higher than same online so basically a rip-off and of course your deposit doesn’t get taken into account.
2. On-board internet. Be extremely careful. Firstly, very expensive. Secondly I suspect another fraud, the set-up is such that your phone/provider can connect to it automatically but over EXTREMELY expensive SATELITE! The simple reception of a warning message from my provider cost almost 8€ (they reimbursed me after complaining it wasn’t normal to be forced off land internet at much less than a km from land free roaming shores). Am sure some people return home to bills of hundreds/thousands not even knowing who got most of the money, an EU roaming system loophole none of the participants obviously will feel like changing.

Puntualita alla partenza non ottimale , posto macchine in garage un po strettini , gabine ottime , il nuovo sistema ristorante molto caotico ( Molto meglio il primo sistemo con la fila al self-service ) sbarco puo andare. Tutto sommato in viaggio molto rilassante con parecchie possibilita di relax .

Had to cancel booking due to a medical emergency and lost 25% of original payment, which is fine because that was clear when I booked.
Had confirmation of refund by email and chased 2 weeks later but told it was being processed. Called 2 weeks later and told it would be paid latest the following week. Called end of following week and told it was 45-60 day refund policy. Not impressed.

Dopo aver letto sul sito di GNV veloce che le cabine non sono condivise, mi ritrovo uno sconosciuto nella stessa cabina assegnata a me. Chiedo rimborso e mi dicono che non si può, invece per la cabina esclusiva ti fanno pagare ulteriori 60 euro.
Severe downgrade of cabin and no proper refund
I booked the Durres–Bari route with GNV (booking GN 9443047) and paid for a “Super City Suite Matrimoniale” – a high-end sea-view suite with private bathroom on a GNV ship.
Shortly before departure, GNV informed me by e-mail that they could not provide the suite and unilaterally moved my booking to another ship, AF Marina (Adria Ferries), in a small 4-berth bunk-bed cabin without private bathroom, keeping exactly the same price.
After the trip, GNV admitted in writing that this was an “accommodation down-grade” and offered only a €30 voucher for future travel, which is useless for a customer living outside Europe. Later they promised a €39.80 bank transfer refund, but as of today no money has been received, and my follow-up e-mail was simply ignored.
In practice, I paid for a sea-view suite and got a bunk-bed cabin on a cheaper ship, plus a refund promise that was never fulfilled. Very disappointing experience and poor customer care.

Ich bin von der GNV vollkommen zufrieden. Ein paar Worte vom Kapitän wäre nicht schlecht gewesen. Trotzdem, danke der Linie, danke der Mannschaft, Team, dass alles reibungslos geklappt hat. Ich bin gerne wieder mit an Bord. g.w.

Nave pulitissima, personale cortese ed efficiente, unica pecca lo sbarco non organizzato benissimo e il cibo leggermente freddo.... Per il resto rispetto alle vecchie navi gnv.... È stato un viaggio bellissimo cabine grandi moderne e pulite, spazi adeguati e molto ampi
Ferry from Barcelona to Genoa
Boarding the ferry from Barcelona was pretty straightforward despite a big queue to register. Once on board the staff were really helpful and a guy carried my bag up the stairs for me. The cabin had clean bedding and was generally fine. The food was ok, not fantastic. After reading some reviews on here I was absolutely dreading it but it was actually perfectly ok. We arrived in Genoa 5 hours early about 7am which wasn’t a great problem except it took quite a while to disembark. Overall - not quite Brittany Ferries standard of food etc but perfectly ok.

Servizio estremamente scadente sotto ogni punto di vista.
I tempi di attesa sono inaccettabili: anche dopo ore, solo se si è fortunati, si riesce a parlare con un operatore. Il personale si dimostra spesso poco preparato e, in alcuni casi, anche maleducato nelle risposte. Un livello di assistenza del tutto inadeguato e inaccettabile per una compagnia di questo calibro.
