Joe has been amazing in helping us plan our rail trip of Scotland. He took the original itinerary and customized to what we wanted and was able to work around our budget to make it work.

Our week-long tour in highland Scotland was booked with GoRail but handled by the lads at Go Irish Tours. 1) Unless you have able-bodied friends/family to help, this is not for you. There is no assistance with baggage, boarding trains or transport to/from stations. 2) The "travel vouchers" (our only proof of purchased trip segments) arrived after repeated reminders and never appeared in the guest "dashboard". They did not contain the required QR codes. The rail stations' Customer Service staff needed to decipher vouchers to issue tickets. 3) We repeatedly asked (via email) where and when to meet our local tour guides. Then we found that the subcontracted walking/site tours did not recognize the "vouchers" and had no record of us at all or on the date on our itinerary. One had us listed for a date occurring after we would have left Scotland. One tour company fit us in for a walking tour. The company operating the day trip to Skye had not heard of us. We seniors returned to the hotel. Our son and wife decided to wait for two bus "no shows" and were successful, paying out-of-pocket. We were not offered a refund for our day-trip tickets, finally receiving one after complaining to the very polite lads who had suddenly taken an interest in our trip. I could go on. This company is simply not equipped with competent staff.

I made a solo first-time trip to Ireland last month all due to the phenomenal help of Peter and some additional help from Alex and Sean. He accommodated my needs to make the trip work the timeframe I had available as well as the number of changes requested, and the last-minute request to possibly add another traveler to the trip. I got to see and experience everything I had hoped for. I got to see land of the maternal side of my family who emigrated to the US nearly two centuries ago during the famine.

Alex was very attentive and responsive until I paid the invoice and received my itinerary and vouchers. I have had my itinerary for about a week now. I have questions and need addresses for two hotels in Europe. I have emailed twice and texted once in the last six days to Alex and reservations. No one has responded. If Alex is out on holiday or sick, someone needs to respond. This is making me quite anxious. I will update this review if I hear from the company.
UPDATE to my review:
Adam, the manager of Go Rail Travel has been in touch with me. It seems Alex did have a personal emergency and no one knew I was attempting to reach her. Adam apologized profusely for any distress caused by their lack of reply. He explained the extenuating circumstances to me, listened to my concerns and immediately emailed the information I was requesting and more!!!
I am looking forward to Alex returning to work. I am also very excited to travel the itinerary we created together. THANKS

Peter is an excellent planner for us. From rail, hotels, transfers and lots of ideas to make our trip memorable. We are blessed to have him helping us.

I am SO incredibly glad that we made the decision to book our trip to Ireland with Gorailtravel! We have 7 adults and 4 children traveling, and from the very beginning, Tristan was such a HUGE help!! He took the time to send over breakdowns of each room, every family member, and even sent us over a video to show us all of the different areas we were going to visit (which we absolutely LOVED). We were able to see the hotels we will be staying in, excursions, road names and recommendations, etc! If we wanted to adjust anything, he made it happen! It felt personalized to exactly what we wanted, and we feel he truly took the time to listen! We are so excited! Thank you, Tristan!!

Alex has done a fantastic job in setting up our Scotland rail trip for September 2027. We gave her our ideas on what we would like to see next year. Alex came up with a great trip. However, we didn't realize the number of days it would take to see everything, so I discussed a shorter trip and Alex set up a trip that meets our goals. Alex has been professional, answers my overseas calls and texts quickly and a joy to work with. She has had a positive attitude in my discussions with her.

We are taking our kids and grandchildren to Ireland for a family trip. Wasn't really sure where to start on the planning. Saw an ad for GoRail and sent in my info. Sean contacted me and what a blessing he has been. He took our hopes and desires and turned them into a very exciting trip. He answered questions and set up a video showing/explaining the trip which I could send to our kids. I could have been more grateful for all Sean has done for us. I highly recommend Sean and Gorailtravel.

Dylan does an excellent job of explaining my trips and keeps me informed through email, text, and phone on arrangements. Can’t wait to get to Switzerland!

Though there was a hiccup, as there often are in travel, the travel team was lightning fast in their response and resolution.

I cannot express enough, how grateful I am for the hard work this team does. I will book with them again and again.

In fact, he helped us make several changes to fine tune the trip and even provide more than we would have expected on a trip like this. He was willing to make changes, but even more than that he was able to offer suggestions that were things we wouldn’t have thought about doing. He made the planning fun so that we could meet all four of our expectations and we are so looking forward to this trip. We are celebrating a 58th and 54th wedding anniversary so appreciate the fact that we are looking forward to a stress free trip and exciting trip to be able to see all of the places we want to visit
Sean is the best travel agent we have ever worked with on planning. He will absolutely be the first call we make for our next trip.

We just booked a wonderful trip to Scotland with GoRail travel. Our schedule has been hectic this summer so we booked last minute (August) for a trip in September. Joe was able to put together a varied itinerary and listened to our wishes to stay a few nights in each stop. The hotels look beautiful and are walkable to the train station allowing us to avoid driving and still see the Highlands as well as the cities. Joe sent a video of our itinerary, personally narrated, which was extremely helpful. We look forward to our trip!

Planning a trip through England and Scotland with Alex from Gorailtravel has been a pleasure. She is available for questions, makes great suggestions and has a great 'can do' attitude. I know we will be taken good care of along the way!

Sean was incredibly informative, professional, and patient while putting together an itinerary for Scotland for my family and friends.
