Avoid if you can, be careful if you can't
When I was buying a property through auction Gunnercooke acted for the seller. They tried to have me pay them three times the fees that they are contractually entitled to, they claimed repeatedly that the property was being sold “as is”, when the documents said vacant possession. I formally complained but received an evasive answer with no apology for their repeated errors. As a result I am left with the impression that they were deliberately attempting to charge higher fees and willing to deliberately misrepresent agreed terms to my detriment. I encourage caution and scepticism with dealing with them.

A very proactive law firm. A pleasure to deal with. Excellent advice received in a timely manner. Fees were reasonable. A breath of fresh air.

Waste of time, waste of money.
11 months of my time wasted, paid them a lot of money, the problem is still not solved. Had to complain to the Legal Ombudsman.
