Brilliant experience, fantastic set up, enhanced by the location at Skeld marina in Shetland. The guy running it was very helpful and the sauna was so lovely inside with big scenic windows and a very clean ice bath outside. I would definitely recommend the Haar sauna to all.

HAAR SAUNA SHETLAND. Great to get a sauna on such a beautiful spot, going between the sauna and the sea was really good.
I will be back at some point.

The sauna is not warm enough in my opinion, maybe 50-55 degrees. The floor should be more tight. The wind blows through the floor. I think maybe the firewood is not dry enough. In this kind of small sauna it should easely become 70 degrees.When you throw water on the stones they cool down very easily. So...better firewood, tight floor. There should be a WC nearby. Anyhow , the place is spectaculare. The staff is kindly. I recommend the place. :

An excellent sauna! On a hiking holiday with three friends it was just me who signed up for the midday community sauna - to find four in total booked for the hour - two guys and two girls. Great to meet other visitors and local Shetlanders too. The sea was invigorating. Wonderful! Thank you very much!

The owners were kind, welcoming and great to have a chat with ! The saunas are in great shape, the sea is just a few meters away. A perfect relaxation for anyone !

Friendly staff. The sauna was hot and the swim was in crystal clear water. Only slight negative, it's missing a window for the lovely view. A great experience 😀

We stayed with friends just up the road from Haar Sauna.We decided to book it on the day we were leaving to go back to Glasgow.

I attended the Summer Solstice Sunrise yoga . The session which consisted of yoga on the beach beneath the sun , sauna scented with Sage and frolicking in the waves was simply amazing . The welcome and care received from all the people involved in running the session and those participating was wonderful. I am here on holiday , went alone and came away having made friends and really hopeful I will be able to return again . Thank 🥰

My wife and I had an amazing Aufguss experience at Haar a week or so ago. The location of the sauna is absolutely stunning and doesn't detract from or despoil the natural beauty of the beach. There are two separate saunas which provide different experiences which makes it all the more interesting. One more like a traditional Finnish Sauna and one more like a Bania.

Callum was amazing at making the experience so special for all the people involved. We had previously attended multiple similar sessions in Norway, but none as good or as spiritual as this one. From providing guidance on breathing and posture, smelling different burning woods and essential oils, along with the use of natural herbs to infuse the water. In our case this use of natural bundles of herbs and also the use of peat on the skin was fun and made for a very immersive and spiritual experience.

Between sessions we bathed in the cool water of the sea on the Atlantic side which provided relief and was stimulating and energising. During the later sessions the Sun was setting providing an incredible backdrop which was an emotional end to the amazing experience. That evening we slept like babies and didn't get up until 10.45 AM !

Cant wait to get back to Haar on our return trip, and cannot recommend this experience enough to anyone travelling to Shetland. Make sure you book up some sessions and don't miss out on what was a major highlight for my wife and I.

We had a wonderful time splashing in the crystal clear waters of the St Ninians beach tombolo and then warming up and relaxing in the Haar Sauna.
Alex and his trusty canine friend Arthur were brilliant hosts!

The sauna is in the most beautiful location, next to the dunes on the edge of St. Ninian's beach. The combination with wild swimming was fantastic. The staff was very welcoming.

Sauna on St Ninians Beach was a wonderful experience. The location has awesome veiws of waves rolling in both sides of the beach . Plenty sea birds dipping in for their catch and I was always on the watch for a seal or whale . The beach is kept so tidy and debris free it’s a pleasure to walk along . Sunrises and sunsets are a golden asset to the location .
The staff at Haar Sauna are so friendly and welcoming . I was very impressed by their health and safety brief before enjoying the experience. This made me feel safe using the sauna . It is a joyful experience which makes you feel relaxed and calm and also have a great sleep that night!

My husband and I had an unforgettable experience at the Haar sauna at St Ninians Isle. We visited on 29th December 2024 when we were in Shetland visiting family. We originally booked the 28th which ended up clashing with a family event. We contacted the customer service team 10 days prior who responded quickly and were able to move our booking.

It was cold and windy and to be honest when we walked down the road we were dreading it. We were welcomed by a cheery host. We were instantly inspired by others braving the crashing waves. We went in the sea first then rushed to the sauna to start our session. Very cosy. Plenty of room. There were 6 of us in the community session. We felt that the session was good value for money. We braved 3 cold dips in total with plenty of warming up time in the sauna in between. Very cosy. Highly recommend a visit to the sauna!!
