Very Fraudulent do not do
Very Fraudulent do not do. They do not honor dates, rude staff, and when you ask for you money back they will say "Oh it's not refundable." Do not do business with these frauds.
I have tried months out and there is no availability. They are very rude, many times people overseas handling this. Then they told me they would give me new dates but never honored it.
I use to work for Hilton and cannot believe they have moved their standards down this low. Instead of saying hey pay us $200 for this experience they should say that they will take your money remind you it is not refundable, and screw you over. I am avoiding Hilton stays now at hotels as they are crooks.
Already have Buyers remorse.
I signed up for HGV timeshare after a presentation in early November. I am already having buyer's remorse. questions that I have are not being answered. I guess I am on my own. I was told when I bought in that my Hilton Reward membership would automatically be bumped up to silver status. that has not happened. I have asked via email twice-no response. Also my member ship is showing the 5500 points I am entitled to for 2023 but not the 5500 bonus points I was offered and is in my contract. same issue, 3 emails, no response. Dates I would like to travel have no availability but if I look up the hotel and book directly there is not an availability problem. Resorts that are noted as AI (all inclusive) do not include the AI portion through points, which would be fine but the cost of added AI per room/per night makes the trip unaffordable and cheaper to book an AI flight/hotel in the same desired area for 1/2 price. Eg. Punta Cana. 3000 points for week for 2. AI additional charge is $350 US dollars per room per night. $2450 out of pocket plus airfare at $1500/couple. cost for week would be $3950. Can easily get a 5* AI in area during same time for less than $2000/person. I feel like I will be paying for something I will never be able to use. I should have set up an automatic account and put my $300/month in the account and have a great vacation every year.
This whole scheme is a FRAUD
This whole scheme is a FRAUD. HGV sold us the package for Hawaii promising the Hilton Waikiki Beach resort and then dumped us to Hilton Grand Inn on the day of arrival. All this package was sold to attend a presentation on Time share scheme and when I raised my concerns there they again tend to run us off asap so that we don't hamper their business. Promised us the Sunset cruise which we learned after 4 days of our arrival, has been long discontinued. Now, nobody wants to fix this issue and we are counting days for our vacation to end. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS HAUX SCHEME!!!!
Hilton, you should be ashamed to be involved in these sales tactics.
Total rip off. Can't believe this is still a thing. I can't believe Hilton has their name on this. They offered to allow me to prepay 4 days 3 nights at a discount at "Hilton properties." I was stupid enough to agree and also chose a location (Scottsdale) and was told the 5 properties they have. But, THIS IS NOTHING BUT TIMESHARE BS! When I try to schedule they don't have rooms available, even though the properties have rooms available. And BY THE WAY, I had to wait a day for them to tell me IF my dates were available. They cannot tell me what dates they have available either. All I can do it guess with another set of dates, to have them call me "up to 5 days" later per their script, to tell me if those dates are available. They won on this one. They got my money and I will not be staying with them. 100% profit, which I am sure gets shared with the shameless people on the phone with me.
FRAUDULENT
FRAUDULENT! This experience is one of the worst I've ever had, and I didn't even buy their crummy timeshare. I'll explain:
In exchange for sitting through the heavy-handed sales tactics of their time share presentation, they offered me a cruise at what they said was a discounted price through Royal Carribean. Long story short: DON'T FALL FOR IT. They are liars.
Here is the longer version: To start off with, they never told me that I'd have to pay extra beyond their quoted price. There are hundreds of dollars in port fees they never told me about. But right after I got the package, COVID hit. They told me I could extend it, which I did, but when it got around the time I had rescheduled, Covid was still severe and the CDC warned people not to travel on cruise ships. I called and asked to cancel my cruise, as I wasn't sure when I'd be able to travel and even if I'd be able to find anyone else willing to get on the ship with me. The salesperson (I don't call it customer service, because they are always trying to sell you something) told me that I could extend the cruise all the way out to December if I called Royal Carribean. I reluctantly agreed to that, but immediately asked: what is the latest I can cancel the certificate if I'm not able to travel. The agent specifically told me I could call until November 16 and cancel for a full refund.
Fast forward to November 16. I found out a few days before that that the one I was schedule to travel with couldn't make it. So given what the agent had told me earlier in the year, I looked around for a replacement, but called on November 16 because I couldn't find anyone. When I called, I was treated more rudely than anyone in customer service has ever treated me. They refused to cancel the certificate despite what they had told me, and even though they could see the prior agent's note verifying what I told them! They refused me the option to speak to a supervisor, and they have to date refused to keep their word.
That is FRAUD, plain and simple. And I will spread the word far and near that Hilton is not a trustworthy brand. This episode has ruined their brand as far as I'm concerned. They instead tried to offer me 50,000 Hilton reward points. NO. They agreed to fully refund me if I called by November 16, and all of their agents verified that this was in the notes but still refused to issue the refund.
I called corporate both to complain about the incredibly rude treatment and the lies told about the refund, and they wouldn't even talk to me. They shuffled me back down to customer service, which told me I needed to talk to corporate. DUH. I called back and this time they transferred me to the concierge department! Concierge just verifies reservations. They have nothing to do with my issue. So not only has Hilton committed FRAUD, but they are intent on keeping me on the phone for hours as they transfer me back and forth to people who can't and won't help.
Well I'll make sure the world knows about it. Whatever you do, do not ever ever ever deal with Hilton Grand Vacations. Don't buy their scammy time shares, and don't even listen to their time share presentations, because even what they offer you in exchange is fraud.
Run donât walk away!!!
I travel a lot and have stayed in Hilton properties almost exclusively. Usually average over 75 nights per year. Also use Hilton Amex card but this ended after I was scammed by their Hilton Grand Vacations presentation. I am a handicapped senior and we attended a presentation in Las Vegas. Of course they make everything sound so great and one of the pitches is that you also get to go to all the RCI locations. We like to travel to all inclusives in Punta Cana so this was a great benefit, we thought. The salesperson stated that all we would have to pay was a "minimal" all inclusive fee. We stupidly purchased the package.
10 days later we get an email to set up our account. Upon setting up the account I then researched various all inclusives in Punta Cana. Imagine my shock to find out that the "minimal" all inclusive fee is actually hundreds of dollars more than the total package if I go to the resort site direct. That's right - $16,000 to end up paying more for the vacation than booking it direct and not using. Great deal - right!!!
I then called to cancel and they said I only had 5 days to do so and they had passed. Keep in mind I didn't get the email to create account so I could review until 10 days had past. All this to tell everybody to stay away and don't get trapped like we did. I use to really respect Hilton but for them to do this to people is a real breach of that faith. Bye Bye Hilton and hopefully whoever is reading this will stay away as well.
The HGVC is a very poor investment
The HGVC is a very poor investment. Their sales pitch is overzealous, leaving out extremely important information. The fees go up dramatically without any reason, and there is no recourse. The benefits continue to decline. The answers are always, "There is nothing we can do"
Once you buy in, you are stuck. I would give it zero stars if I could. I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased.
Awful money pit
Awful money pit. Iâm out like 25,000 dollars and have taken ZERO vacations. I didnât get my points until August and have until December to use. I had a two week vacation in October and a weekend away in December- none of the âwonderful, extensive property listâ was open. Literally not one property out of the 5 places Iâm traveling this year or next have an opening or a property. I was hit with yearly fees for a property Iâve had for 4 months of 2022 and then just hit with another fee for 2023âŠ.then I have to pay to transfer my points because I didnât use them by 2023âŠ
My sales person was super friendly at the sale but Iâve reached out many times with no response. I called customer support and all she keeps saying is âwell tell me where you want to go and Iâll look for a hotelâ HELLOOOO donât you think I already did that?!?
Just donât do it!!! A waste of money
Dishonest with horrendous customer service
I would give zero stars if I could. On October 9, a Hilton agent offered me a 3 night stay in Washington DC for $199 (plus taxes/fees). The only stipulation was that my family would have to attend a 2 hour tour of a new Hilton property. I accepted the offer. The agent told me that I could book the stay any time in the next year, so I booked flights for my family of four for November 5-8. I called Hilton on October 10 to book my stay, and they said no tours were available on those dates. They said "no inventory available". The original agent never said anything about tour inventory/availability.
I was told that a manager would call me within 72 business hours. They never called. On October 22, I called again. This time, the agent said the same thing regarding tour inventory, but added that I couldn't book within 30 days of accepting the offer. Again, first time I had been told this. The agent said the best they could do was refund, but that does nothing for my four plane tickets I already paid for. I asked for a manager, and was connected with Jasmine. Jasmine said she would see what they could do, and that she would call me back by 5:30. She never called back.
Now, on October 31, I have called again and I just spoke with Bob. He said Jasmine noted that there is no inventory and that a refund is all they could offer. I said "she said she'd call and didn't", to which Bob shortly responded "well she made a note". Terrible customer service. I said the only way this was going to end is with my booking to be fulfilled or us filing litigation. Bob said "you can do whatever you want but it will go nowhere". I asked for a manager. After 10+ minutes of holding, Bob said that his supervisor, Jessica, would call me back. I said "I have a hard time believing I will get a call back based on my experience to this point". Bob said "Jessica is one of the few supervisors I trust. She will call you".
So, I was sold a package by an agent who withheld the limitations. To put it mildly, I was misled. To put it accurately, I was deliberately deceived by Hilton. And when I tried to contact them, I received horrendous customer service. I am a business owner. If I make a promise and don't keep it, I am going to do everything in my power to make up for it. How hard is it to do the right thing here? You either make someone give a tour on our dates, or you honor the package rate and let us stay without going on the tour. Refunding does nothing to help with our flights and plans that were already made. Hilton simply refuses to take responsibility for their actions and do the right thing. They will lose a customer for life if they don't make this right.
Promise apparently only good on day of sale
Our salesperson was Shan at Point at Poipu. We liked him initially, He said we could call him anytime, email, or text. To date, I have emailed 3 times, all within 2 weeks of purchase and have yet to hear from him. Only had 1 simple question, but his availability is apparently only good on the day of sale.
Scammed after getting the family excited about a vacation.
Spent an hour and a half on the phone with a rep from Hilton Grand Vacations who got me signed up and told me all these wonderful things I was going to get such as an extra night if I call in within 45 days additional points and I could bring my whole family of 5. When I called in within two weeks they told me that my plan was only for 4 people and I would have to pay an additional 200.00+ to allow the 5th member of my family to stay and that was a deal at half off. Horrible customer service and horrible scams that get a family excited.
Misleading to point of dishonesty
I purchased a hgv timeshare in Nov 2021. The sales presentation showed resorts all over the world as options. The problem is that they were hiltons not Hilton grand vacation. The only way to stay there was to convert points to Hilton honors. The trade value was less than 1/2 what the maintenance fee was. So basically I paid 35,000 to be able to pay twice as much to stay as if I booked on my own.
Also they had already acquired diamond resorts and were using its resorts as a sales item. 2 months later they release a new club and none of the properties are available to hgv members unless you purchase another timeshare week.
The availability at resorts is horrendous. I have checked at least once a week for gulf coast properties and there has never been a single opening in over 6 months.
I am diamond Hilton and have like Hilton in the past. Make no mistake Hilton Grand Vacations is not Hilton .
When Marriott purchased Sheraton they rolled those properties in and made available to all. Disappointing to see a good company so poorly represented by one division. It destroys their brand and has changed my hotel brand loyalty .
Bought a Hilton vacations and could notâŠ
Bought a Hilton vacations and could not use it because of pandemic so it expired (Hilton will not give money back or honor it!)
Hilton owns Diamond Resorts
Hilton owns Diamond Resorts, so now they own this accurately terrible review.
WAY too many negative experiences to write them all out, but here are the bullet points:
1. Sales rep made promises the company won't live up to.
2. Endless hold times on the phone just to find out I'm in the wrong place and need to be transferred again.
3. Road block after road block in trying to get any issue resolved.
4. A complete SHAM 'Consumer Advocacy' Group where you can send an e-mail with your issues - but the e-mails come back 'Undeliverable'.
5. Zero follow up from the 'Customer Care' representatives that are supposed to be there to help.
6. No way out.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. It will save you lots of time, money, and frustration.
Don't purchase anything from thisâŠ
Don't purchase anything from this company, anything said in their "meeting" will not be honored and they WILL NOT BUY BACK your timeshare as the sales representative(s) will tell you. It is only a SCAM!
I was duped into purchasing a property with promises given all over; well, those were empty promises from the representative along with so many other false statements from this person and their "manager" that I can't go into without TrustPilot flagging it as "harmful".
But, what is HARMFUL, is the way they lie, take your money, and change things "out of the blue" for their benefit. A good example is in 2020 they changed the exchange rate on club points to HHonors from 25 to 20 and then returned it back to 25 in 2021. That is a huge difference when you have 20K+ points to exchange and it is all to the benefit of them; not you.
They will tell you their members are happy; well, I can attest that I am not happy along with so many other people who were duped into purchasing from them. Especially those who were duped into purchasing the Trump property; yes, this company has dealings with Trump Hotels.
I've been trying to sell this property or have HGV buy it back for over 8 years now. So, don't listen to the false statements about being able to do so from their sales people and STAY FAR AWAY FROM HGV AS POSSIBLE. Plus, don't even try contacting their CEO as he will not respond nor will he make anything right from the wrongs his company did to you. I know, and I have multiple contracts to show how they will not refund your purchase; but, will offer to take it back in exchange to upsell you into another property. Its a SCAM you will not be able to get out of!
You'll be better off saving your money and planning a wonderful vacation on your own instead of purchasing a timeshare. Because still having to pay $2K annually in maintenance fees for a property I have only visited once and will not visit ever again is frustrating to say the least!
Tmeshares are Forever (Or Longer)!
Do not get into a timeshare! We have been in dispute with HGV over the last severalâ months but they are refusing to assistâ us and have now requested intrusive information from us regarding our finances. We have already paid this timeshare company close to $70,000 over the last decade, resulting in the ownership being completely paid for. They have all of our money and we just want out! There is no reason why any more of our financial information should be needed to end our ownership. We find this very discomforting. We are tired of the company giving us the runaround. We have explained the financial hardship the ownership creates, this should be enough for them yet they are always wanting more and more. The constant anxiety is more than we can handle and we want this over with.â No contract should be FOREVER
Worst stay ever!
I stayed at Marquis Villas in Palm Springs recently and was treated so badly and manager was not concerned and very very rude. I was charged $150 for taking/moving towels when they moved me for maintenance issues and front desk said it was my fault the hot water tub faucet came off and scalded my 4yr old and when we moved to another unit ants bit my child when they were crawling in the bed and on the furniture. Not only did they not show any concern whatsoever they overcharged me and did nothing to show compassion.
The worst experience ever and I am still waiting for GM to get back to me but doesn't look like that will happen at all. I will never stay at this resort ever again unless new management who cares about there guests.
Huge fan of Hilton GrandâŠ
I am a huge fan of Hilton Grand vacations. As fas as timeshare companies go, they are the best available. I have owned and travelled with HGV since 2005. The program works so well that I have added more points reaching the Elite Premier status. There is no perfect company or program but this is as close as it gets.
If I could do it all over, I would buy more points and earlier as their prices do go up frequently. Get on board, you will be glad you did.
Please do not feel tempted to join HGVâŠ
Please do not feel tempted to join HGV if you are UK based. You will NEVER be able to book UK travel as there is never availability even via RCI. Trying to book other sites like Italy or Portugal are almost impossible. The RCI sites are poor in quality with no availability in the UK for exchange and limited extra vacation stock at expensive prices. Save your money and don't buy into HGV. it's complex, heavy sell and only benefits the American market. We were misold and told we would also have access to cottages.com - not true. We would have to upgrade to Elite plus. Despite admitting we were likely misold, they have done nothing to help except to try and offer us more expensive complex upgrades. If you are UK based, HGB are very sophisticated scammers basically selling properties you can't access. Especially the UK and European properties. The app and websites are clunky especially the RCI connection - you can't even search by date on the app! HGV are lying oversellers. Don't buy!
The worst company to get a timeshareâŠ
The worst company to get a timeshare from. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND DONT DONT IT! First and foremost, I am so disappointed in the way I was treated especially the supervisors. I signed a contract with you guys indicating that you will take payments out of my checking account, reason being is that my payments will be lower versus paying with a credit card or in any other way. Iâve signed up for auto pay. Iâve even tried making the payments from my account myself since for some reason your auto pay isnât working and just wonât do it. Hilton Grand Vacations is saying that thereâs is a hold on my payment from my bank????? So Iâve called my bank to make sure you guys get your payment. Apparently my bank institution says theyâre is nothing wrong on my end and that there is no problem with my bank account and that they have no hold against Hilton grand getting theyâre payment. Iâve had to confirm with your representatives 2 times! They made me do a three way with my bank to confirm that there is no issue with my bank, clearly my bank explained this to you guys. Every month Iâve had to call you guys to make the payment from a different account and you guys have been wanting to charge me more since itâs not being collected from my checking account! MY CONTRACT SAYS THAT MY MONTHLY PAYMENTS WILL BE TAKEN OUT OF MY CHECKING ACCOUNT TO GET A LOWER PRICE. This is what I signed in my documents. YOU GUYS ARE BREACHING CONTRACT. Why arenât you guys doing what you say you are suppose to do. When all this started you guys would tell me you would fix the error not to worry. But you guys havenât done NOTHING! Ive even offered to put my credit card on auto pay and you guys said that it will raise my monthly payment! I even tried to help you guys and this is how I get treated.. I want money back and I want this contract to be done with because itâs not valid. In my contract it doesnât indicate that I have to call every month to make sure you guys are collecting my payments. You guys need to do your job. You guys need to fix the Internal error thatâs happening on your end! Itâs so sad that this is going on because I thought Hilton was the best, but you guys have let me down so bad. Hilton grand vacations doesnât care about their clients. You guys have lied to me and are breaking the law by making me sign documents indicating things that you guys arenât fulfilling. I would like for you guys to pull all my recorded conversations so you can see how incorrect your employees are being towards a client who is trying to pay their timeshare. The runarounds you guys have put me threw by making me call almost every week regarding my payments is so unprofessional and low on your end. I want all my money back and this so called contract that you guys arenât fulfilling dissolved. Or you will be hearing from my attorney.
