I had a very disappointing experienceâŠ
I had a very disappointing experience with this hospital. After having a gastric balloon implanted here in July 2025, I became very ill because of it. I returned to Istanbul in early November 2025 specifically to have it removed. To my surprise, when I arrived, I was told I had to be on a liquid-only diet for 72 hoursâsomething they never informed me about beforehand. As a result, they refused to remove the balloon. I find this lack of communication and transparency unacceptable for such a serious medical procedure. On top of that, I had to handle the entire frustrating situation at my own expense. In the end, I ended up returning to France with the balloon still in place.

I would definitely recommend Hisar Intercontinental Hospital to all my friends and relatives. From start to finish, the care I received was truly exceptional.
Most of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Urology Department â the reception team, the nurses, and especially Professor Dr. Basri Cakiroglu. Words cannot fully describe the level of professionalism, empathy, and dedication shown by Professor Dr. Cakiroglu and his entire team. I sincerely admire this outstanding doctor, not only for his medical expertise but also for his calm, patient, and supportive approach throughout every consultation and the entire operation process.
The medical team and nursing staff were top-class â attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I also want to highlight the exceptional support of the translator, Nurserik, who provided 5-star assistance with kindness and professionalism, making communication smooth and stress-free.

I am very disatisfied with Hasan Sahin's Performance
I am very disatisfied with the results of my breast lift surgery. My breasts feel as if they have been operated on by a very inexperienced surgeon, Hasan Sahin, (at least when it comes to this type of procedure). I was not give a choice of surgeons but told he is the best. My left breast is a few inches higher than the right one and feels as if pectoral implants have been inserted. It is hard and painful. Under the right breast, a wire like substance is piercing through the skin which is also painful. This "SURGEON" should not be allowed to perform this type of surgery without proper supervison. I had to got to the emergency clinic due to the stitches not healing properly after 6 weeks.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy
I contacted Mr. Lokman from the USA, asking him about their HYPERBARIC OXYGEN CHAMBER THERAPY & we exchanged a few eMails along with a few texts on WhatsApp & a few months later I went to meet him & begin my therapy.
Right from the start, Mr lokman was very understanding of my needs & answered all of my questions fully to my satisfaction & that's the reason why I trusted him & trusted that the hospital which he's representing would be the best choice for me, hence my decision for selecting it.
Mr Lokman went further out of his way & guided me to the Bazar, where I could find anything that I was looking for to buy, such as Copper utensils small manufacturing shop, where I bought several cups, coffee cups & coffee pot. He also guided me to some of good restaurants & confectioners of best tasting pastry.
Don't hesitate to contact him for your medical needs, you'll be happy that you did, he's a trustworthy individual & he puts his 100% at your service.
Chaotic and unprofessional
I had a consultation here over the telephone with Dr Meryrm Eken.
Itâs at every stage things have not gone smoothly and red flags have been popping up.
I was introduced to them via Bookimed.
1. I was told to pay $150 deposit but as I wanted to pay via a link the lowest was $200. The first two payments I made via the link showed as declined but they went through, yet it took days for the hospital to confirm my payments were made.
2. â my appointment on the day was bought early by an hour. I waited for 45 minutes but got no call.
3. â when I did get a call 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I spoke to the doctor who didnât introduce herself and I guessed she was the doctor. She then clearly had not read any of the reports I send as she asked for my age (something that is on all my reports) my history, something Iâve disclosed before.
4. â the doctor spoke directly to me in English, which would be fine if she was a fluent English speaker, but we struggled to understand each other, she asked me to repeat myself and I had to ask her several times to repeat herself.
5. â I think there was an issue with the interpreter as the doctor would look sideways and I could hear someone off camera say something but I did not understand what, as it was whispered and not in English. However, this is not how interpreters operate they should interpret what I say in English to the doctor in Turkish and then listen to the doctors reply in Turkish and repeat what the doctor said to me in English.
6. â The the doctor suggested I would have additional treatment which was charged in Euro (â¬) whilst I have been charged the rest in US dollars ($) so it seems either the hospital is careless and not checking what currency I am paying in or worse trying to confuse me by changing currency. Turkey is not part of the eurozone so they canât say they made a mistake charging in their local currency.
7. â overall I have been left stressed and confused rather than reassured that I am dealing with a professional hospital and this is before I started the treatment which will be stressful in itself.
8. â after the appointment the hospital and doctor send me the doctorâs contact details including WhatsApp which I initially thought was really kind as it meant I could get directly in touch if I have concerns. But it was more so that that they want me to follow the doctor on instagram which they also sent me. I have been to many doctors in my life and this is the first time Iâve been given a doctors instagram, again not very professional in my experience.
When I complained I was offered another appointment with a proper interpreter, when I declined the hospital too $170 from my âdepositâ for the appointment.
At no stage was I told the appointment carried a charge or how much the charge was.
Avoid this hospital and Dr Eken they are unprofessional, unethical and happy to change inflated fees which they do not tell you about beforehand for a service they did not provide.
Organized financial crimes
Organized financial crimes! The Hisar Hospital Group openly practices profiteering, legalized robbery, extortion, scams and falsifies legal documents with highly discriminatory prices for foreign patients. A blood test and an X-ray for Turkish patients cost â¬95 and â¬60, but â¬120 and â¬85, a 25 â 40% higher for foreigners. I had to do two lung surgeries for a severe bronchiectasis and I had to stay in Istanbul for 3 months in case of complications. They tried to rob me â¬20 more per night even from my independent hotel booking and insisted on payment to the Hospital. With â¬9000 prepaid, on the day of my first surgery, four hospital employees extorted me to pay the balance of a â¬21,000 quote for both surgeries in advance and then openly tampered with my account and instead of my official calculated balance of â¬10,605, they forced me to pay â¬12,000, otherwise NO SURGERY. A CT- scan before two major lung surgeries, a pre-surgery blood test and post-surgery X-rays for control were not included in â¬21,000 and I was forced to pay extra. Then they knowingly put me, a lone patient, in a huge double room with two huge TVs, two bathrooms and sofa-beds for family for a total of 10-day hospital stay for â¬675 per night for a patient with no visitors and it all looked legal in my hidden hospital account. Then they put my safety at risk by allocating very young and inexperienced nurses who had to change the needle in my arm every day, not always letting me receive all the medication and making me suffer in pain. I was in agony after the first surgery and I had to attend the hospital and pay more for urgent medical care. Their plan was to do the second surgery only a month after the first one which other countries do after a minimum of 5 months. As I discovered their scams and realized I had been robbed at least â¬5,000, in addition to discriminatory prices, I protested and cancelled the second surgery. With a second surgery so quickly, I would have had four holes each the size of a 20 cents coin and two 6 cm long cuts on both side of my chest, my aching lungs, my chronic coughs and the possibility for complications. I would have gone through hell not being able to even take care of myself as a 68 year old lone pensioner. The hospital doesnât except any liability for complications, hence they would have forced me to pay much more as premediated for urgent medical care even after the second surgery. The Hospital wasnât interested in my safety and wellbeing, but to extort me to pay for both surgeries in advance with discriminatory prices to secure fast and easy money. The hospital should reimburse me â¬13,000, but since leaving Turkey, they completely ignore me because they know there is nothing I can do. I doubt they will reimburse me anything at all and despite being very sick, I have to file a lawsuit against the Hisar Hospital Group in order to recover my money and do the second surgery ASAP. Date of experience from 15/10/2024 and ongoing.
A Good Hospital for a Hair Transplant
Three members of our family underwent hair transplant surgery at Hisar Hospital on the same day, and our overall experience was excellent. The procedure was also quite affordable.
I want to extend my gratitude to Lokman El Ahmed, our consultant, who made the entire processâfrom planning and communication to transportationâextremely easy for us. Without his help and expertise, we would have felt quite lost.

I am still in my healing phase and still on crutches but the wound healing goes well and the scars are so minimal.
Dr. Selman and I were somewhat surprised about the injury after surgery since it was a lot more severe than we both thought.
But with the stem cell therapy and the cleaning of the effected ligament as well as the microfracture I will hopefully be able to go out for my marathon training in six months.
Dr. Selman is a knee icon: everything evolves around the knee; he even got a canvas of an MRI of a knee.
The overall experience with the Hisar Hospital was superb.
I arrived on Saturday, had an appointment with Dr. Selman on Monday and surgery the next day! Amazing. I never had to wait long. MRI was performed in less than 45 min including 15 min of MRI procedure and the examination by Dr. Selman.
The Hisar Hospital has a limo service and picked me up and brought me back to airport, appointments and surgery and my apartment I was staying while in Istanbul.
And they even provided a translator (kinda nursed me through) each time. She went with me to all the procedure like MRI, pre OP etc. Thank you Israa for that!
