This has been an absolute nightmare. The endless contracts and upgrades have completely overwhelmed me. If we fall behind on one thing, it feels like everything else comes to a screeching halt. It’s just too much to deal with. And their support team? They don’t care. They won’t even try to understand how they’ve put us in this mess. It’s like they’re ignoring the role they played in creating this disaster, and I’m the one left to pick up the pieces.

The resorts aren’t worth the debt or the rising fees. Their customer service doesn’t help. I regret ever dealing with this company.

Seriously, if you're thinking about buying into a Holiday Inn Club Vacations timeshare, turn around and run in the other direction. This has been the worst decision we've ever made, and it's all because we were fed a bunch of lies from the very beginning.

They told us this was a great "investment" and that we could use it anytime we wanted. What a joke. The fees have done nothing but go up and up, and finding an available room is nearly impossible. So much for our so-called "investment."

And the few times we have managed to book a stay, the rooms were absolutely gross. We've dealt with smelly, dirty rooms and even found old food in the beds. Half the time, the appliances don't even work. It's a completely miserable experience.

But the worst part is the company itself. For years now, we've been trying to get out of this timeshare, but they won't do a thing. They refuse to cancel it, they won't apologize for any of this, and they certainly won't make it right. It's like they couldn't care less about their customers once they have your money. They just ignore you and leave you stuck with this useless, expensive timeshare. Their most recent email tells me to call the same department I have been calling for years and they tell me they won’t help me. Every. Single. Time.

Don't make the same mistake we did. Save yourself the money and the headache. This company is predatory and completely unprofessional.

Warning About Holiday Inn Vacation Packages

I purchased a vacation package for my family of five that required attending a presentation. When it came time to book, I chose a location close to our home. We visit that area often, and I wanted to make sure we could actually use the trip without wasting the money I had already spent.

My husband is in the military, and his schedule changes frequently, so I was trying to plan around his availability. When I had trouble booking online, I called to make the reservation and was told that I couldn’t choose that location because it was “too close” to where we live.

This restriction was never mentioned when I paid for the package. If I had known, I would not have purchased it. When I asked to speak with someone higher up, I was refused. We were genuinely interested in purchasing a timeshare in that exact location, so this policy not only wasted my money but also cost them a potential sale.

In my opinion, this is misleading and poor business practice. If you are considering a timeshare, I strongly recommend looking into Hilton instead of Holiday Inn. My experience shows Holiday Inn was not transparent about their policies and has refused to refund my money.

I cannot remember the exact date, but it was recent.

Booked a promotion, they had told me that there would be a sales pitch and I asked for Lake Tahoe and that I would sit through the sales pitch. They told me to book online when I had exact dates. So I did and after completing the process I was supposed to get an email confirming the dates I had requested. Never received an email. Called them after a couple weeks and they said those dates are no longer available and I would have to book months in advance for that location. But it has to be booked within six months of purchase. And no longer than a year out so summer in Tahoe was never an option. So $250 for nothing read the fine print. Also no refunds,nice business model screw people over before the sales pitch.

I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of Holiday Inn’s timeshare program (Holiday Inn Club Vacations). What was pitched to us as a “no-pressure presentation” turned out to be a high-pressure, manipulative sales ordeal that lasted for hours longer than promised. The representatives were pushy, dismissive of our concerns, and used guilt tactics to try to force a sale.

Even worse, the information we were given during the presentation didn’t match what we later found in the fine print. Fees, blackout dates, limited availability — none of this was explained honestly upfront. When we decided not to proceed, the attitude of the staff changed dramatically. They became rude and unprofessional.

This experience has completely ruined my perception of the Holiday Inn brand. I expected integrity and transparency but received the exact opposite. Save yourself the stress and avoid this timeshare trap altogether.

I’m tired of paying for this. The fees just keep going up, and I haven’t even been able to use it in some places because always booked. But when I go on vacation sites they seem to have availability kinda makes me think MONEY GRAB.

They are always trying to get you to up grade in order to use what they show in the beginning you have to keep spending more money. And when you do upgrade they don’t tell you about all the other FEES go up.

Plus, customer service won’t let us cancel!

Don't waste your time with these guys. When the rep is pitching, listen closely and take notes - they'l promise you the world. But if you actually buy and book, they'll find a way to screw you over and cancel on you, especially if you call them out on their lies and demand the full benefits they promised. Listen for the total refundable amount the Rep promised to give you back on the card. Save yourself the headache and don't buy. This company needs a class-action lawsuit for false advertising. Heads up, they run your credit but never mentioned this during the pitch. Also make sure to read the following up email line by line and remember all the promises and make sure it is stated on it and even if they didn't, demand they resend the email with it.

I honestly regret ever doing business with them. The resorts are nowhere near worth the price they charge, and dealing with their customer service has been an absolute nightmare. They completely misled me and roped me into a contract that turned out to be a total scam. I feel betrayed and frustrated—like they took advantage of me. It’s been such a disappointing and stressful experience, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what I did.

I received an email that says I'd get 10k IHG One Rewards points if I travel within the next 60 days for a Holiday Inn Club Vacations visit with sales presentation. I took the trip and got no points.

That's all it says... Now they say I had to ask for the points while I was at the property. The email doesn't say that. I don't like being lied to. I didn't buy a package but I was tempted. I thought it might be beneficial for me but after this, I'd never buy from them. If they'll lie about giving rewards points, what else did they lie about? Probably everything!

I am trapped in a contract with Holiday Inn’s resorts. It’s disheartening to realize you’ve been misled into an agreement that feels impossible to escape, no matter how hard you try to resolve it. The resorts simply don’t live up to the commitment they demand. If you’re considering them, proceed with caution; your time, money, and peace of mind are worth more.

The payments keep climbing, but the service hasn’t improved at all. It’s incredibly frustrating and disappointing to feel stuck in this situation. Signing anything with Holiday Inn has become a decision I deeply regret. They’re making it impossible for us to leave.

I have read other reviews about Holiday Inn Club Vacations, and they all confirmed my experience. Their sales tactics are manipulative and exploitative.
As an elderly individual with a major physical disability, I was targeted by their unscrupulous pitch. The promises they made were false, and I deeply regret signing up. Avoid this company at all costs! This occurred Sept 30, 2023.

Signing up for the Holiday Inn timeshare is a decision I deeply regret. The ongoing payments have strained my finances, taking money away from more important priorities, like saving for my children’s education. Working in construction, my schedule is unpredictable, and I often plan vacations at the last minute. As a result, I’ve never been able to take advantage of the timeshare. What was meant to be a convenient getaway option has instead become a financial burden with no real benefits for my family. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values flexibility or has an unpredictable work schedule.

Ok...yes the stories of fright dealing with time share presentation pressures can definitely cause anxiety, frustration and downright disappointment. However, my family and I have been members since 2014. When I tell you we "over" use this membership, we get our money's worth. We have been numerous times to Orlando, Orange Lake; Tennessee, Gatlinburg; Nevada, Desert Club Resort Las Vegas; Arizona, Scottsdale; Texas, Galveston Seaside; South Carolina, Myrtle Beach (guests were very stuffy on a holiday weekend- not planning on returning)....and in November 2025, we are booked for Louisiana, New Orleans. For some amazing reason, when we call to book, there's always availability...and when we can not get our selected rooms...WE ARE ALWAYS UPGRADED TO THEIR SIGNATURE COLLECTION SUITES. We travel all season for any reason. Since we PAY, we are definitely going to STAY. Our young adult children also use it for group shenanigans. Ohh I almost forgot, my sister and her friend used the RCI benefits and vacationed in Aruba before Covid-19.
I say all this to share, these travel programs are only an issue when you don't know how to use it!! (or THEM, if you get my drift) I give all my complimentary friends and family stays to my clients and to other friends needing a quick getaway, and yes that help supplement my membership expenses. It's always a Win-Win for all! The world is stressful enough, and if you took the time to visit the resort, sat through that grueling pitch and still walked out with a membership, get your calendars out, grab some fun loving fam/friends and enjoy the most life has to offer. I’m extremely disappointed with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. The value of the resorts is nowhere near what they charge you annually. Despite having paid everything off, they refuse to let us cancel our membership. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company and not fall for their sales tactics.

I am unfortunately a member. Becoming a member is a terrible deal unless your travel dates are extremely flexible, you can book 11 months in advance, and you don't care about inconsistent quality of rooms and amenities.
Here are some of my complaints
1. Limited locations and unavailability. I have been a member for 3 years and I live about 4 and a half year and have been unable to stay at the Gatlinburg location because it is always booked. In fact, I have had poor success booking at most of the locations I would prefer to visit with the exception of Orange Lake in Orlando. With more than 4 months in advance, I was unable to book Gatlinburg, Cape Canaveral, or Marco Island for the months of June or July but I can go onto IHG right now and book the same rooms as a hotel guest. Also not to mention you are limited to staying at a select few locations across the country.
2. Inconsistent amenities, if you first go to Orange Lake in Orlando for the sales pitch don't be seduced by it because none of the other locations have anywhere near the same amenities. For example, we just visited Williamsburg and they don't even have 1 hot tub and the activities such as bowling and the arcade close down at 7 pm at night. We have stayed at both a holiday inn hotel and a HICV in Panama City and my teenage daughters would much prefer the hotel because the hotel because of the lack of activity at the resort.
3. Inconsistent quality. The interiors of some locations are up to date but others look like they have not been remodeled since the 90's.
4. Poor value. This year I have booked 3, one week stays. If I booked the same locations and rooms it would run me about $5400. In maintenance fees and booking fees I paid $2375. That does not include the cost of purchasing a membership. Unlike booking a hotel, if I need to make any changes to my reservation after booking it cost an additional booking fee. And unlike booking with at a hotel, I do not earn points that can be used for future free stays.
