I had an engagement ring custom made by Holt Gems in Hatton Garden and couldnât be happier with the experience.
From the very first consultation, what really stood out was how attentive Alicja was. Iâd met with a few other jewellers beforehand, but the level of care and attention here was completely different. She genuinely took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, which made the decision easy.
She listened carefully to the design I had in mind and also offered thoughtful suggestions that enhanced certain elements without ever pushing in a different direction. The whole process felt collaborative and very personal.
The finished ring is exceptional, the design and craftsmanship are outstanding. My now fiancée absolutely loves it. She couldnât believe how beautiful it is and is so happy with it.

Caitlin was incredible in helping us find the perfect ring. Before our appointment, she curated a selection of stunning diamonds for us to view. Iâve realised that seeing the stones in person is essential, as the quality and sparkle matter immensely, even with lab-grown diamonds.
We also explored their unique colored diamonds and previewed different wedding band pairings, which was a great touch. Incredible service and gem repair
I visited London to find a specialist who could assess and re-polish a Paraiba that had been worn daily for over 10 years. After reading the reviews, I chose Holts.
I was welcomed by May, whose knowledge and passion for gemology were immediately clear. She assessed the stone under the microscope, explained the damage, and discussed the repair options with the engineer who would be doing the work.
When I returned a few weeks later, I met Alicja, who was equally professional and welcoming. The ring needed re-tipping, as expected, and the stoneâmade more challenging by an extra facetârequired careful workmanship.
The result is outstanding. The ring looks immaculate, and the stoneâs brilliance is better than when I first bought it.
As this was an expensive and highly sentimental piece, trusting anyone with it was a real concern. Iâm extremely grateful to May, Alicja and the team for delivering such high-quality work at the agreed price and within the promised timeframe.
I wouldnât hesitate to use Holts again for any future jewellery repairs or purchases. In a crowded London market, they truly stand out.

We were looking for a queer friendly place to purchase our wedding bands.
