Reviewing the booking process with Imagine Cruising
Having learned through an email in early July about the 3/7/27 Silversea cruise and Imagine Cruising land tour to Japan ending 4/3 27, I reached out to Imagine by phone to get more details. I immediately got through to one of your excellent agents in London, Jonathan Gilchrist, and he proved to be immensely helpful over the several days it took my husband and I to finalize our decision about booking. It was crucial that we receive all the information we needed to move quickly, because Jonathan informed us that there was only one Superior Veranda suite left.
He worked closely with us to analyze flight options and other details via phone and email, at the same time I did my own research into flights. Learning that only United would provide non-stop flights to Kyoto and Tokyo from SFO we booked our flights independently. On Jonathan's advice we also researched the idea of adding two nights at the end of the cruise to have more time to enjoy Tokyo, and we have done so independently.
Jonathan supplied all information we needed as well as the subsequent documentation after we booked, in a very efficient and good humored fashion. Needless to say, we are very much looking forward to the trip in March.
While this is in the future and it's premature for us to comment on the specifics of the tour, we booked it because we felt that the inclusions and pricing were very advantageous, and Jonathan's description of the tour (having done it himself the prior year) was especially persuasive.
One final note: We understand that the US office is just getting set up and our dealings there have been limited, but we do want to acknowledge Caitlyn, who was very helpful when I needed some info quickly.

Excellent service
Excellent service, went beyond expectations. It may be too early to give a review before going on the vacation, but I want to acknowledge the way these guys set up a land/cruise vacation Iâve wanted for a long time. 21 days, flights, hotels, and a 12 day cruise thru the Norwegian Fiords. Itâs a lot of complicated logistics they were able to put in place.
The one drawback was documentation and confirmation. In todayâs world, organized crime is a fact of life, and due diligence demands confirmation at every stage. I signed several documents, twice, without fully documented evidence of what I was getting. I paid a substantial down payment without a signed receipt. I felt exposed until the package was processed. I think Imagine Cruising need oto address this.
That said, this probably would not have happened if I had gone to the web site and ordered from the list of vacations listed on their site. I responded to a web advert and was contacted by an agent who made it happen.
