Having been made redundant after 29 years of service 18 months short of my 66th birthday it came as a shock and very worrying to find myself now unemployed with no prospect of finding work due to my age and the pandemic.
Instead of panicking I took the time to take stock and look at options available to me.
My private pension was the key to getting to the age of 66 years when I can draw my state pension, so a call to Informed Financial Planning was in order, a review was arranged and all options discussed with me.
The service was very professional and informative so I could make the right decisions, this led to 2 more zoom meetings to finalise my options which where acted upon promptly.
To take the stress out of having no income I decided with the help of Josh at I.F.P to take my pension early, I eventually took my 25% tax free to cover some major expenses coming up in this next year and then take a drawdown from the remainder of my pension to take advantage of the tax free allowance that I now have and once I claim my state pension I can then reduce my drawdown to reflect this.
Informed Financial Planning in particular Josh have been very helpful in advising options and implementing those options which means I am enjoying a stress free forced early retirement, and I can recommend this option as once you are in that position you soon realise that you don't need as much to live on as you thought you did, hope this helps anyone in a similar situation.

We trusted Josh Richardson at IFP with our financial affairs when determining the best way forward following inheritances. He provided a clear assessment of our overall situation and made a number of recommendations which all made complete sense. Changing circumstances have meant that we have not put all the plans into place yet but, those that were are already showing better returns than we could have found on our own. He has also shown how we can begin to mitigate future IHT liabilities and these are being progressed. I can also say that the back up office staff have also been prompt with communication, professional and pleasant to deal with, and seem well trained. The charges at first appeared a little high but, with a year's operating experience now, they have been well earned and we are still better off than we would have been.

I would highly recommend Josh Richardson from Informed Financial Planning, as his advice has been invaluable during my recent divorce. Josh is approachable, professional and was able to ensure that I made the right choices with regards to a pension sharing order made in my favour. from initial contact via office staff who connected me to the advisor the whole experience was one of efficiency and friendliness. the advice given was most helpful without the pressure to proceed with investment if not totally satisfied and understand.
