I contacted Instant Car Fix on a Saturday when I experienced car troubles while in a city 2 hours from my home with 2 of my kids. I was staying at a hotel for the weekend when my alternator went out. I did not want to pay the $200 fee to get a mechanic dispatched the same day and there was an option for an appointment between 11AM-3PM the next day (Sunday). Since we were going to be there most of the day on Sunday anyway, I selected this option. Instant Car Fix was supposed to call me 30 minutes prior to the mechanic arriving. Since I had not received a call by 2:30, I called the company who told me the mechanic had indicated that he would be there at 4pm and someone should have reached out to me. I informed them that no one reached out. When no one showed up by 4, I called back. They said the mechanic was stuck on another job and they were wondering if I could reschedule for the next day. I was really frustrated because I would have to pay for another night in the hotel and my kids and I would need to miss school/work on Monday, but I didn’t see that I had much of an option. The appointment time on Monday was the same window of 11AM to 3PM, but having learned my lesson the day prior, I started calling them early to find out when the mechanic would arrive. I got the run around from every person I spoke with. I was told they would contact the mechanic and call me back (no callback ever came), that they had to reissue my ticket (even though the situation had not changed since the first person I spoke with on Saturday), and finally that the mechanic wasn’t available so they were looking for a back-up mechanic for me. At this point, I gave up on them and started making plans to have the vehicle towed to a local shop to be fixed the following day and rented a car to drive my family home. When arrangements were made, I called Instant Car Fix back to say that since they didn’t come by 3PM, I didn’t need their service any longer. They said they had assigned a mechanic who would be there between 5:30-6:30PM, and if I was going to cancel, I would have to pay a cancellation fee. I informed them that they didn’t meet the terms of our agreement and they would not be charging me anything. They said it would be sent to the cancellations department who would deal with the matter. It’s now Tuesday, and while I haven’t had a charge on my card yet, I am watching for it. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY TO DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO or you could be like me hanging out in a hotel lobby with two kids for two days waiting for a company to make good on their promises. Now that I’ve more carefully read others’ reviews on the shotty workmanship, I guess I should be grateful that the mechanic didn’t show. On the other hand, the customer service folks were nice even though they were unhelpful. I got at least 200 apologies over the last 2 days.

After 4 days, they suggested I submit my request for cancellation.....THEN CHARGED ME FULL PRICE TO CANCEL!!! It took multiple phone calls to management to get the topic resolved. Service was not provided. I even stated that I don't want to cancel that I just want the work done. That was clearly not something that ICF was interested in. I would not recommend going down this road.

Stay away! If 0 stars were possible they would get that. I requested a pre-purchase inspection service and received confirmation of scheduling for this service. Then no one showed up for the appointment time (all the while support would not answer or respond) and then they tried to send someone on Sunday outside of business hours a day after the scheduled service. Now two weeks later I get an email asking for a review and some random report not connected to the service or vehicle I requested at all.

I took it to a shop close by, the mechanic said, oops whoever changed the battery is a novice and they messed up the alternator !!!! My car halted again :( 😞..... I can't drive if the alternator is not working... 😢
I reported this to them. If they can help me get it fixed, then I will consider giving higher rating here. Will see !!!!
