Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. I booked a job, the mechanic showed up 3 days later, declared he didn't have the tools to do it, charged me $150 for a "callout" fee, and left. Never again.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!! Mechanic that came out appeared to be intoxicated or on drugs. He dead no idea what we were asking him to do. Doubled the job by adding unnecessary work (confirmed it was unnecessary with a new mechanic) and then took the parts WE PURCHASED and said he would be back the next day. He also left the truck in pieces in our driveway.... We are sitting at 8 days later and we cannot get the parts back. Cannot get in touch with anyone who sounds like they are in the US. The mechanic is now MIA. This has been the biggest headache and waste of time. We will likely have to repurchase the parts and wait even longer to have an operating car.

A Disappointing Experience

I found this mobile mechanic service online and thought it was perfect. They claim that they would send a qualified, registered mechanic to my residence, he would diagnose the problem and tell me what needs doing; great. The cost for all this would be $150. If I allow the mechanic to do the job, then $100 of the deposit would go towards the repairs. The mechanic came in from Polk County much earlier than scheduled and promptly set about diagnosing the issue: drivetrain malfunction clearly displayed on the dash. I explained to the mechanic that the battery was disconnected to facilitate the installation of two cooling hoses and that the Engine Control Module might need resetting. He agreed. I didn’t know that he wouldn’t be unable to reset it and he didn’t say he couldn’t. We discovered that the battery voltage was low 8.5 volts approximately, it should be 12 volts. He connected his battery pack to the terminals inside the engine compartment then connected Jump leads from his car battery to mine in the trunk of my car. Shortly thereafter, we had our required 12 volts. He then said he couldn’t get the systems (engine and computer module) to speak to each other. He recommends that I take the car to BMW. I feel as if Wrench Mechanic have now wrenched $161.25 from my account for a terrible disservice. Nothing fixed, nothing diagnosed and simple “have a nice day” was what I got before the mechanic departed. By the way, my car, which I could lock and open remotely was not responsive anymore, the mechanic said it was because we had things connected to the car; his diagnosing equipment. This is blatant unprofessional, lack of relevant experience, no conscience seeing he was unable to fix the problem he charged the full price anyway. What an apt name; Wrench. Indeed I feel as though my money was wrenched from me under false pretenses; so sad. A brilliant business model, if only it worked.

If I could give zero stars I would.

MY THOUGHTS -- The company appears to be a scam, allowing the customer to choose services online that the firm has no ability to deliver within the quoted timeframe or cost.

BUSINESS ISSUES -- The company's website business logic, which enables customers to search for and obtain cost estimates, is greatly flawed. While it looks to be professionally developed, the underlying business logic is unworkable. For example, you can search for an automotive repair service, such as replacing a rear engine mount for a specific make and model of car, and the site provides a cost estimate and warranty information (12 months/12,000 miles). It also presents the customer with a button to indicate if the customer will be supplying the part. If the customer is supplying the part, the cost goes up and the warranty information disappears. As such, it would appear the default setting is the estimated price that includes the technician-supplied part; however, when you actually talk with a customer representative, who is based out of the Philippines, you learn how the estimated price is just the hourly labor rate and does not include the part. Further, the customer service representative indicates the actual cost to the customer will be multiple times greater than what Wrench originally estimated. This is a classic "bait-n-switch" fraud tactic.

Note -- Imagine how trapped you would feel and actually be if the mechanic removed the part and then demanded that you pay a lot more money or he/she is going to leave your car unfinished and possibly undrivable.

CUSTOMER SERVICE FAILURES -- The Philippines-based customer service representatives are not allowed to give out Wrench's/YourMechanics' corporate telephone number. (FYI, the company is headquartered in Seattle, WA, and while you can find a 206 area code telephone number associated with Wrench, that telephone number is simply local front end for the company's 1-855 and 1-844 customer call center, which, again, is based in the Philippines.

MY RECOMMENDATION -- Do not waste your time with this apparently-fraudulent company. It is possible there are legitimate mechanics who obtain work through this firm; however, you can never know for certain that they will show up and/or perform the work for the stated price. In my case, "Hugh", who is a Littleton, CO-based mechanic, just blew off the appointment with no notice, which is how I came to make contact with the Manilla, PI customer call center.

Poor Workmanship and Refusal to Take Responsibility

I’ve been a long-time customer of Wrench.com and have spent thousands of dollars with them over the years, but this experience has completely changed my view of the company.
In April 2025, a Wrench.com mechanic named Kevin replaced my rear brakes. He was the last person to remove and reinstall my rear wheel. Recently, I ended up with a flat tire and discovered that one of the lug nuts had been cross-threaded, making the wheel impossible to remove. This is not normal wear and tear — it is the result of improper installation.
Despite this:
Wrench.com charged me $150 to send another mechanic out for a “warranty check”
They confirmed the issue
Then they refused to cover the cost of removing the damaged lug nut
And refused to refund the $150, even though the issue traces directly back to their prior service
Wrench.com was the last company to touch the wheel, yet they are refusing to take responsibility for the damage caused by their mechanic’s work. As a result, I’m left with a flat tire I can’t remove and out additional money for their mistake.
This situation shows a serious lack of accountability and customer care. Loyal customers shouldn’t have to fight to have obvious workmanship issues corrected.
I would strongly caution anyone considering Wrench.com to think twice, especially if something goes wrong — because based on my experience, they may not stand behind their work.

'Wrench Inc' is a fraud. I wouldn't use them again if my life depended on it.

On 12/3 'Wrench Inc' sent a highly unqualified mechanic (Cesar) to change an alternator on my 2008 Toyota Avalon. After disassembling some parts on the vehicle the mechanic abandoned the job. After a full day of dealing with 'Wrench' on the phone (several different people), 'Wrench' sent the same mechanic back out to complete the job on 12/4 . The mechanic reassembled most (not all) of the vehicle parts and again abandoned the job without changing the alternator which was the primary reason for the service. I had to contact a real mobile mechanic (Dan) to complete the alternator job and finish assembly of the parts that 'Wrench' left undone. Complete serice took Dan about 1.75 hours (kudos to Dan). 'Wrench' than charged my CC for $224.24 for services not provided which are now in dispute. Use 'Wrench Inc' mobile mechanic service at your own risk, IF I WERE YOU, I WOULDN'T!

MISSED SAFETY HAZARD VISIBLE IN THEIR OWN PHOTOS

I hired Lemon Squad for a pre-purchase safety inspection on a BMW, relying on them to ensure the car was safe. Their inspection was grossly negligent and cost me over $6,300 in repairs.

Missed Safety Hazard: The inspector missed a missing lug nut on a rear wheel. The most shocking part? You can clearly see the missing lug nut in the photo the inspector took himself. He photographed a safety defect and still marked the wheels as 'Safe.'

False Report: They marked the Heater/HVAC as 'Working' even though it blows completely cold air. They also marked the headlights as 'free of cracks' when the passenger side had visible crazing (structural micro-cracking) that requires a $3,200 replacement.

Admission of Guilt: When I confronted them, they admitted in writing that there were 'significant discrepancies' and the report was 'incomplete.'

Despite admitting they failed to do their job, they refused to cover the damages, hiding behind their Terms of Service. They refunded the small inspection fee but left me with a $6,000+ repair bill for defects they claimed were fine. Do not trust this company with your safety or your money.

Avoid if you think you have a vehicle…

Avoid if you think you have a vehicle with a computer in it. It was very misleading for wrench.com to advise of a $50 diagnostic charge if I chose to do the work with them (would apply $100 discount to quote which they did) and then after I scheduled for them to complete the repair, they confirmed the repair appointment and then canceled shortly after. They said they were not qualified to do the repair and I needed to go to a local shop. Then they charged the full $150 for the diagnostic even though it was no fault of mine that they weren't able to do the repair. The mechanic that came to my home said he could do the repair and sent a full quote for the work, but the administrative team rejected his quote and said they couldn't and instead kept my full $150. You're better off just finding a local mechanic that won't pull a bait and switch on you like this. Not the mechanics fault though.

Repeat Customer to Disgruntled customer!

The only reason I provided 2 stars is because the mechanic who provided the service was a stand up guy! Wrench.com adjusted the service I requested and then charged me labor for a service that was not provided! I emailed them 4 times with no response! I disputed the charge with my bank, unfortunately, the dispute was not successful! I have used this service in the past with no problem. They mechanics were timely and the charges quoted were accurate for the services received! I will never use them again!

Guess that part!

Had first mechanic (Supposedly ASE Certified) look at the car, was certain about issue and sent ticket back for idler pulley to be installed, and charged me again. Then when the new mechanic came and changed part, issue still occuring, told alternator was issue and the charge is $690 ( with $400 charge for $100 part from Advanced/Autozone) and $290 charge for labor hours.

ZERO STARS

ZERO STARS. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Absolutely terrible company. Sent a mobile mechanic, who was hours late, and unable to fix the vehicle. Car had been driven (by us) in parking garage up several levels. Mechanic came back with correct parts, again hours later than quoted, and was not able to replace the part needed. He locked up the transmission trying to pry the part out of the car. He left car disassembled, and undriveable. We had vehicle towed to a local garage, where they stated it now needs a completely new transmission due to transmission housing being damaged by mobile mechanic with a pry bar. They provide photos and video as proof of the damage. It has now been 3 weeks, and Wrench Inc daily tells us it is "under review" from their call center in the Philippines. We call daily, and several times have been on hold for longer than an hour. No resolution, no responsibility on their part. Meanwhile, uber bills are accruing and storage costs for the vehicle at the local mechanic is also accumulating. We are now consulting with an attorney. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

Work was so bad, I filed a lawsuit against Wrench

I scheduled a mechanic to do work on my car, but after the maintenance, my car was undrivable and in worse condition than before. Wrench refused to refund me, so I filed a lawsuit against Wrench. Wrench Inc. failed to show up to court, so they were in default and I won the lawsuit. The judge gave me a money order for $1,358.02 and I mailed the order to Wrench. However, after 30 days, Wrench had not sent me the money. I emailed Wrench, but they have yet to respond.

Do not under any circumstance use Wrench Inc. or any of their services.

Terrible service

Terrible service. I booked this overpriced service so I could use my car today. The mechanic called 30 minutes before the end of the service window 9-11) to tell me he couldn’t make it. He said he would come by 2-2:30 and fix my car. He never showed up. When I called him back he said he didn’t have time. I called Wrench and the rep didn’t seem to care. No apologies, just silence. I explained that I had booked the appointment with the expectation of having a car this evening. The rep did reschedule my appointment to tomorrow morning (9-11) but I have no idea if this person will actually show. A hold of over $500 is on my bank account so that’s money I can’t access. This company is terrible. I would rather work with a local ripoff company like Midas than ever do business with them again

The Mechanic never showed up … for two separate appointments!

I scheduled service, on my car, and the mechanic didn't show up - twice. Wrench did not answer their customer support text or emails. I called Wrench, to find out what happened on the second day. They told me the Mechanic quit and they had no replacement, after I waited on hold. There was no attempt to fix the issue or even reschedule the appointment, for a third time. Do not use this company! Avoid them like the plague.

I was told initially my card would be…

I was told initially my card would be charged one dollar and that the full price of the service would be charged after completed so to be safe I took my money out of my checking and put it in my savings account. They then went and charged the entire amount to my card after they said they wouldn’t in writing, resulting in me now acquiring several different bank fees because they weren’t honest, then I receive a message saying the price needs to be increased before my appointment can take place by almost $200 given no actual explanation as to why and even after I agree when I shouldn’t have, the next day of the service the time comes and no one shows up no call no text no email nothing so I reach out and I’m told the mechanic is two hours behind… It’s a good thing I reached out because otherwise I obviously wasn’t going receive any type of communication; That is extremely unprofessional on their behalf, but it doesn’t stop there, I was told they are definitely going to come and get it done the day of, It’ll just be a little later then several hours later I receive a call from the mechanic saying they can’t make it and that they’ll have to come a different day, they literally have no respect for your time, so after making me unnecessarily acquire bank fees that could be avoided if you were true to your word, then the unnecessary price increase to the no call no show, I have never encountered so many red flags before, I wholeheartedly do not recommend wrench at all.

Davant Whitehead is NOT your best choice…..

So Davant Whitehead was sent to me on 7/7/25 through this app. He couldn’t perform the actual request due to “The Size of His Hands” according to him, in turn I paid him outside of app to do the actual repair I needed. I even hired him a few days later to do my brakes.
Long behold the same issue arises again with my car, I contact him first to see if he can come recheck his work and we can inspect the part for defect, he refused and told me to take my car to the dealer.
After scheduling another appt for a diagnostic, I end up scheduled with him again even though I requested not to be.
The day of appt I get a text from wrench saying the tech is unable to make it, so I text him to ask if he was ducking out on checking HIS WORK?
He in turn calls me and gets real disrespectful telling me IM THE PROBLEM so in response to that I contacted Wrench and told them he lied about the diagnostic in which he received a cut of that fee, because my battery cables were never loose. He then took a side job with me for the repair in which I paid him for, so he was paid double for a job he couldn’t guarantee his work on. He also told me he didn’t care about professionalism or a review so I’ve gotten active on every platform and I requested my money back.
Sorry to say but his reviews DO NOT reflect my experience. Now another mechanic will be going behind this dude to fix what he couldn’t. Should’ve known he was green in the field when he allowed me to get under my car to assist with the repair. Steer clear of this guy is my advise

Quincy Steele stole $700.00 from a customer

Quincy Steele works for this company and he has a side hustle. He came in July 2025 and gave and estimate of work need to repair my car. We gave him $700.00 in good faith for parts and repair and he kept giving excuses and he never showed up to do the work. Do not trust Quincy Steele because he will take your money with no services preformed!!!!

Came without the tools

Scheduled an online appointment for a regulator replacement and window glass silicon re-glue. The mechanic showed up without a single tool for the requested repair, reclassified the visit as a \$179 diagnostic, didn’t even lift the window to protect the car from rain, and scheduled a follow-up two days later with a \$608 quote—bringing the total to \$787. Outrageous. Took it to a local shop instead, had it fixed in 4 hours for \$450.
