I bought insurance for an empty property some distance away. There were no onerous requirements on me and I got well thought out cover at a great price. Best of all, if you need it, you can get a refund for the remaining time at any point.

We insured my late mother's house while the sale was going through. Her usual company would not provide unoccupied house insurance and Insuristic were excellent at coming up with a flexible policy with conditions that were much less onerous than other companies.

We used Insuristic to cover
our mum's property following her death when the existing insurance company were not prepared to insure an empty property.
We found them very efficient and the conditions of the cover were not as prohibitive as some other companies we looked at.
When the property was sold we got a pro rata refund of the premium paid with no cancellation fee

Claim not upheld due to small print stating I needed to have someone check the property every 7 days (which I did) but was required to take pictures of the outside and inside and log entry and exit times of the empty property

I’m sure if I’d done the above there would have been an additional clause to stop the claim.

Save your money

Found this useful when house unoccupied for indeterminate period. Liked the proportionate refund promptly given.

Website is clear and unambiguous, unlike other Companies who advertise Probate Insurance,
Questions on the application form were sensible and. crucially, were directed at Executors of the Estate.

Such a find! Specialist insurance company who know what they are talking about re. policies for unoccupied properties in probate. Quick response to enquiry. I needed empty property insurance while waiting for a property sale to complete. In the end it completed much sooner than expected and only a short time after purchasing the policy.
