They removed free shipping from the backorder

I placed an order with JJill which qualified for free shipping and they backordered an item. The item went on sale while still backordered, so I requested the sale price and they gave it to me, never mentioning that they added the shipping back in. When I saw the charge, I called to ask about it. Mona in customer service gave me grief, explaining policies. What Mona fails to understand is that they advertised merchandise they couldn't supply and they could have told me about the extra shipping charge, but they didn't. I could have added another item to the order to get free shipping or cancelled the backorder or used Shoprunner. They should discount items customers can't receive on time or at least offer options. Mona was unpleasant to deal with and worse yet, I feel ripped off.

I think j jill has a new supplier for their clothing. I have been wearing a size l for years. now that size is too small and I have lost weight. the staff at the store is wonderful but there is something wrong with the clothes and I worry that the store is trying to save itself by providing cheaper and lower quality clothing at higher prices

Card Cancelled because of inactivity

I received an e-mail saying that my account would be closed because I had not charged in the last 18 months. So they were looking forward for me to use so the account would not be closed out. Really! I think this is really insulting especially during Covid. It doesn't make me feel like shopping there again.

I thought I'd try out the down vests…

I thought I'd try out the down vests instead of going with the a well known other brand and I learned my lesson, never buy a down vest from a brand other than the well-known ones. The vest is priced very high for horrible quality. The zipper failed in less than a year and barely using it. I'm surprised how horrible the quality is considering the fact that their clothes are so pricey. They need to consider upgrading the quality of their clothes or lowering the prices tremendously. What a joke of a brand. On top of that, their customer service is horrible and they don't back up their faulty product. Horrible experience! Never again will I buy anything from them. It's not worth the price. Very unsatisfied.

I'm a big fan!

Always happy with my experience with this company, with the exception of slow shipping (which I think is more the fault of FedEx). I have a store location nearby so I haven't had to return anything by mail.
I have not seen any decline in the clothing quality as other reviewers have mentioned, but as with any brand each season has some hits and misses. Prices are high, but in my opinion the quality is high enough to justify the price tag. I have also found sizing very consistent and when finding something I liked in-store I have been able to order it in additional colors, etc and get exactly the same fit. Everyone has different experiences, but I have been fortunate to have interactions only with wonderful, friendly staff in the store nearby, and I'm sure that has helped shape my opinion about the brand. (If someone experienced the opposite, I'm sure they would have a different opinion of the company overall.)

Love this brand!
Great products, great prices. I purchased in-store as well as online and so far so good. I also had their credit card which came in handy, it was easy to pay and had reasonable fees.

J Jill - Not What It Used to Be

I have always bought J Jill clothing exclusively. They fit perfectly - better than any other store. This is no longer the case. Recently petite pants were at least six inches too long and I'm 5'2" - average "short". The quality is down, the prices are up and the fashion is gone. The stores are under stocked and if you want something on sale you better be small or extra small if you stand a chance at a purchase. It's so disappointing.

This company is amazing !!!! The clothing so beautiful and quality is worth every penny . Love the clothing and styles . The customer service in our store The Thousand Oaks mall in Ca is fantastic!!!! Amazing brand !!

Love the clothes HATE the shipping

Love the clothes. Shipping takes so long that you forget you even ordered it. Tracking your package will make you crazy! It’s in your city the day before it’s scheduled to arrive and then it takes a trip to multiple cities and weeks later it finally shows up. NEVER believe JJill when they give you an expected arrival date. Horrible horrible service.

Beware of product reviews

Beware! J. Jill is now removing a lot of 1- and 2-star reviews from their website, even if they're not offensive or profane. I've reviewed the same garment twice and my reviews initially get approved and posted, then mysteriously disappear a day or two later. I also think they add a lot of fake positive reviews if an item is getting a lot of bad reviews from real customers.

I bought 2 shirts which totaled over…

I bought 2 shirts which totaled over the $75 minimum to get free shipping. I was charged $6.55 processing fees. They were cheap looking so I returned them. They charged me another $6.55 processing fee. So, I was charged $13.10 for nothing. JJill needs a better way to buy online. Most places have actual free shipping and free returns. I won’t order from JJill any longer!!

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service - rude, very argumentative, talk over you in conversation,etc.. In today's world with computers they should be able to tell you if they have received your return and process refund within 2 or 3 business days. J. Jill takes almost a month to finally credit my account after 3 phone calls and numerous e-mails. J.Jill seems to be in financial trouble and want to hold on to your funds as long as they can. I will NEVER do business with J.Jill again.

Buy in-store, because shipping is a joke!

Just got off my third chat to resolve a shipping issue. Order placed October 10, shipping notification received October 12. Delivery date stated as October 19. Got a text on October 18 saying “Your order will arrive tomorrow!” Great! But it didn’t. New delivery date: October 25 (Sunday?). Not delivered. I contacted JJill by chat on October 20 and told them the package was sitting in the same place since October 16. Rep said a replacement would only arrive a few days sooner than the promised October 25 delivery date so didn’t recommend a replacement shipment. Contacted them through chat again tonight and they placed a replacement order to arrive October 28. Too bad I needed this stuff for a trip. I have no faith it will ever arrive. Here’s the travel history with SmartPost: MA to PA to NC (just 2 hours from me) to TX (!) to AL back to NC where it sits about 75 miles from my house. JJill used to have ridiculously expensive shipping, and its answer now is a “free” shipping option that never gets your package to you. You need to fix your shipping issue because it’s costing you more money than going with a flat-rate $5 shipping option that reliable delivers as promised. Or look at what Nordstrom offers - they’ve got it right. In the interim, horribly delayed orders should be immediately replaced overnight. Don’t make your customers contact you three times to get a sweater they’ve already paid for delivered. You are losing customers, and I am one of them. Never again will I order from JJill.
