My partner and I were first time buyers and the service provided was brilliant from start to finish. They're support and attentiveness throughout and they're clear and consistent updates made this experience far less stressful! We could not thank them enough for all their hard work!!! After a rocky start from difficulties in communications and lack of a named contact, John W Davies turned out to be totally brilliant. Well done Leonie, Anisha and Hannah - all brilliant! We had a very challenging sale with many difficulties with our buyers chain - but this great firm really helped us through. So pleased.

Truly appalling service. If you are not prepared to chase up issues repeatedly then do not use this conveyancing firm. Very little to no response from your "dedicated" conveyancer; continiuous mistakes that they do not take responsibility for or even apologise for. This is not a professional company and I would not recommend. A truly horrendous and very stressful experience from start to finish (well not even finished yet, as yet to receive HM Land registration/title deeds through ... nearly four months after completion). Avoid at all costs.

When you are selling an asset you want to be assured it is being handled effectively, efficiently and professionally. These people are not solicitors, they are All working from home and no doubt juniors are handling the cases, very poorly.
Abandon ship whilst you can.

I would wholeheartedly recommend the team at John W Davies for any legal processes needed.
Communication was clear, concise and consistent. The team looking after my sale and purchase could not have been more helpful and responsive- Jasmin, Daneel, Ryan and Felicity in particular did all they could to ensure that the experience was as quick and as easy as possible. We rarely needed to talk by phone as emails were responded to within 24 hours with complete and clear answers.
With the current situation for conveyancers being extremely stressful (everyone trying to hit stamp duty deadlines), this team made sure that my sale and purchase were processed as quickly as possible and that momentum with all parties remained high.
Documentation was clear and kept to an absolute minimum, with detailed instructions on how to complete.
I could not have asked for better support and care from this team- a huge thank you and well done for providing such excellent customer service in very trying times, you are a credit to the company!

Terrible service.
I was waiting confirmation that JWD had received some important documents. I emailed seven times over 10 days, and was completely ignored - no response whatsoever. You cannot telephone them as their automated system will not put you through, but tells you to email instead. They then ignore your emails.
funnily enough though, the email I sent terminating their services they answered within three hours.

I wouldn't use John W Davies or recommend them, as I feel they made the whole process of buying and selling so much more stressful than it had to be. To name a few reasons:
*Communication is very poor, which is not surprising as so many people are involved, rather than just having one person as a direct contact.
*Was emailed wrong information on more than one occasion.
*Was constantly chased by the estate agents as John W Davies wouldn't get back to them.
*Sent my Title Deed to the wrong address! (and still can't confirm where it has been sent!).
*Often paperwork went missing, which is really worrying considering it was ID photocopies that were via recorded delivery!
*Still waiting on things to be done although I completed over a month ago (so doubt it will get sorted now anyway).
The only thing I am happy with is that I bought before the stamp duty holiday ended! but feel if I did not do a lot of chasing myself... I wouldn't have.

I used John W Davis for the purchase of my first house in September during the pandemic, I found them helpful, informative and efficient. It was clear that they had a lot of work on due to a reduced team and working from home but they still managed to convey all the important legal aspects to me when I needed to make a decision or provide information. I would certainly use them again.

JW Davies Solicitors were recommended to us by friends and we used them for our most recent house move. They are professional and helpful and communicate on a regular basis giving you peace of mind throughout the process. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future. Highly recommend Natalie Summers and her team who recently acted for us in our sale and purchase. We were kept updated throughout and the team responded quickly to any queries we had. I used them for conveyancing and they weren’t brilliant. The much vaunted Tessl app is not updated regularly and they aren’t particularly proactive when the going gets tough. Probably fine if things are straightforward. I personally wouldn’t use them again but you can make up your own mind…

I highly recommend the family law team at John W Davies. They carefully followed the correct legal procedures and explained them all to me fully. I was always provided with advice on cost risks and proportionality up front, to be able to decide which approach was the most sensible. They scrutinised all documents for me and steered me in the right direction when I needed it. They came up with creative solutions to difficult issues and were always easy to contact. They acted in accordance with my instructions and always ran any proposed course of action by me first. I was supported and felt reassured throughout and they really went the extra mile to help.

After an initial slow start due to some confusion as to whether the firm had been instructed (instruction is all online which is very easy, but a slight delay undoubtedly due to the volume of purchases before I had contact from the solicitor acting on my behalf) it was an informed process where I was impressed with the updates and explanations given. There were many bumps due to vendor and lender replies, but we got there. Thanks to Leonie who led the team, and all those who helped along the process.

Chappell & Matthews referred them to me. Avoid this firm especially Anisha Bashi and Jessica who are never reachable

We were recommended JWD Solicitors through a friend. I can highly recommend them, as a first time buyer I was pretty clueless throughout and at times got panicked by pushy Estate Agents but the team at JWD Solicitors always put me at ease and ensured I was updated every stage.

The process was also extremely quick - we had an offer accepted at the end of March and we move in tomorrow (in total just over 2 months)!

I have heard a lot of horror stories from other people about house purchasing and I can happily say the process was a breeze and quite enjoyable!

It was a pleasure to deal with Jessica and her team at JDW who handled our instructions efficiently and kept us informed at all stages. This is the second time we used JDW in recent years, their fees remain competitive and you can rest assured that you will get a first class service. I would certainly recommend this firm wherever you are based in the UK.

DO NOT USE THESE SOLLICITORS!!!

they never correctly registered my neighbour (we are each others landlords for the same property made into flats) to land registry.
Land registry contacted them in october and again april 2021 to chase them up and these sollicitors have done nothing at all. From reading other one star reviews they have done the same for many other people.
These sollicitors are dodgy do not use them!
Due to their negligence i am now unable to move house as my neighbours name is not on the land registry.
Also, they will respond to your negative feedback within the hour but refuse to respond to any other enquiries. They also reapond to all of their negative feedback by saying how unfair the feedback is...
What is unfair is that this company takes peoples money and run!

We will be taking legal action against this sollicitors.

Edit: correct, i am not your client yet i am heavily being impacted by your shoddy work and my neighbour who IS your client has not been contacted by you at all since raising her concern with you. I would behappy to share all the correspondance she has made to your company to provide evidence or your lack of response. What i am doing is not slander just because it hurts your reputation. What i am doing is providing factual experiences and am even keen to provide you with evidence of your clients multiple attempts at getting a response from you which has been ignored.

Have used this firm for three different house sales, one of which fell through twice, nothing to do with JWDavies though. In every transaction they were great to deal with, their on-line system means you can easily see progress, emails are answered promptly and I had a direct no for my solicitor which meant I could call and talk straight away when needed. Grateful for all their work.
