Under the guidance of Lisa McGrath we found a combination of expertise and patience with us as she guided us through subjects on which we were beginners. Nothing was rushed - we were given all the time we needed to reach satisfactory conclusions on our affairs

My family have used Kidd Rapinet Maidenhead since the late 1950s but after the experience administering my mother’s estate we will never use them again. We had a sequence of solicitors/paralegals who seemed out there of their depth and weren’t supported by the firm; this meant there were delays in the process and as an executor I had to chase them. An example of their incompetence is that their specialist research company failed to locate a document that I found in five minutes on the government website. The partner/solicitors/paralegals lacked empathy and were not client focused.

I have always had a very pleasant experience when dealing with this company. They are very welcoming and have always provided me with an extremely knowledgeable, reliable, efficient and prompt service.

Spoke on the phone to a lady, her name Jan Duffy, Office Manager. I was requesting to see if they still had some documents of 25 years ago. She went out of her way to see if they still had docs, referred me to a search site plus, while she could not find the docs I required, she has not given up and is trying alternate approach to see if they can locate the files. Most people, when receiving a request of this nature over the phone, would just say no can’t help you. Jan has gone the extra 10 miles here let alone the extra mile.

We met with Lisa McGrath to arrange new wills. We thought we were prepared, but she pointed out a number of key issues to consider. She was very knowledgeable, helpful & efficient. Margaret Smith was similarly helpful in getting our paperwork completed.

We would definitely recommend this company & would use them again.

I used these solicitors for probate .
They took over 15months to process this . Urgent emails were left unanswered for weeks . Urgency due to Widows allowance of ISA running out .ie significant tax relief benefit .
Even when probate was eventually granted it was sat on for more weeks . Despite knowing the urgency . Defence was Christmas post uncertainty ! Yes of course I missed out on tax break . But more importantly whole process and aftermath not helping with bereavement. I am normally more robust . But at this difficult time was felt let down . Their defence was lack of staff !

The response from the firm starts with a good example of the issue - the passive aggressive non-apology 'we are sorry you left the review' and misses the point.

It's about speaking to someone in a decent way rather than the awful and inappropriate way the company's representative dealt with me (whoever replies to this, PLEASE listen to the call).

They have not addressed this at all in their response, instead talking about the reason for my call.

Additionally, they imply in their response that their client has instructed them not to deal with me. This is misleading.

This incident occurred earlier in the year. I will not mention the name of the woman that I spoke to but this will be freely available should the company wish to check.

It is actually my Mum who is there client. She had a stroke in February and was extremely ill afterwards. My wife and I were trying to look after Mum during this time and needed some advice from her solicitor. It's worth noting that this was an extremely stressful and upsetting time. I would hope that anyone going through this experience is dealt with compassionately and kindly. It really can make a difference. In this case the way that I was spoken to also made a huge difference in that it left me distressed and upset. So much so that I am only able to leave this review now.

As the main carer for Mum, we had discussed adding me to the POA in order that I could help her when she needed money or shopping. I emailed this company and, initially, had no call back.

When I did get a call, the call was cut off after a few seconds. I called back and said 'I think we were cut off' only to be told 'no, I had another call and hung up to answer that'

This was the first attempt at (unsubtle) undermining. The person I spoke to then said 'yes your sister's had told me you'd be ringing' (attempt 2 to belittle me and we are only 1 minutes in!)

I relayed my Mum's request to add me to the POA and got some unhelpful response (which I am ok with). Then they veered into the patronizing territory ('your mother is the most important person here') then back to the sledgehammer 'veiled' insults 'What I do know is that your sisters are lovely people (with the implication that I am not)

If her objective was to make a stressful time MUCH worse then 'mission accompished'. I would just, respectfully, suggest not pre judging a person / situation based on only knowing one side of the story.

I have used Kidd Rapinett before, on a recommend. I find them to be consistently efficient, helpful and reassuring on the matter of rewriting my Will. I would not hesitate in recommending them.
