I've hired through Ken at Houstons a few times and always had a 1st class experience. On this occasion I had left it last minute to find a replacement (ex hire) jacket and waistcoat for my own kilt. Unfortunately Ken didn't have exactly what I wanted but did have an alternative I thought would be OK.
A bus, ferry and train later and I was there but unfortunately the alternative just wasn't right for me. Determined to see me happy the staff found a different jacket which they altered to fit within an hour and matched with a waistcoat taken from current hire stock. With a more suitable pair of complimentary socks and suit carrier I left absolutely over the moon with exactly the replacements I had initially been looking for.
Thank you all so much, such friendly determination to customer satisfaction is rare these days.

I've never visited, but I hope I could. I have a kilt from this store that was made 50+ years ago. My grandma gave it to me when she passed away and I've been wearing it for a couple years. It is really worn out and old but I love it nevertheless.

I moved to Ireland and brought it with me. Now that I live nearer to the UK I was hoping to go to the store but unfortunately it is now closed.

Is there any way I can contact someone from the company? I'm still eager to visit; I feel it'sthe right thing to do. 💕

Never use Alex Scott and Company in Aberdeen. During a visit to Scotland in 2007 I went in, got custom fitted, I'm a large lad, and ordered it. $1200. Not only didn't I get the kilt, but they blew me off for a refund since they don't give refunds because of ordering the tartan but I couldn't even get them to send me the tartan. Pure rip off for the American guy.

Very good, prompt service and they called me for clarification to confirm exactly what I would be happy with when there had to be a slight change to the order.

After discovering that my maternal ancestors were from Glasgow I ordered a set of cufflinks with the Clark tartan on them for my daughters wedding. They are absolutely perfect. They look good and are beautifully made. They arrived in a very nice presentation box.

I ordered from Australia and received the package in two weeks. The quality is very good, and you pay a premium for that. However, I wanted items personalised to my clan and was prepared to pay extra.
