Avoid!

Ordered an ex hire jacket and waistcoat from this company A because it was in stock B because it said 48hr delivery and C as they're Scottish.
After 6 days of hearing nothing I started emailing. Several emails and phone messages were ignored before on day 11 I got an apologetic reply as the items were not in stock and they had no idea when they would be ! That being despite still being advertised as in stock.
A refund was quickly agreed although no effort made to seek or offer an alternative.
They boast 100% customer satisfaction but I'd question that.

Absolutely outstanding

I've hired through Ken at Houstons a few times and always had a 1st class experience. On this occasion I had left it last minute to find a replacement (ex hire) jacket and waistcoat for my own kilt. Unfortunately Ken didn't have exactly what I wanted but did have an alternative I thought would be OK.
A bus, ferry and train later and I was there but unfortunately the alternative just wasn't right for me. Determined to see me happy the staff found a different jacket which they altered to fit within an hour and matched with a waistcoat taken from current hire stock. With a more suitable pair of complimentary socks and suit carrier I left absolutely over the moon with exactly the replacements I had initially been looking for.
Thank you all so much, such friendly determination to customer satisfaction is rare these days.

If I could leave no stars I would

If I could leave no stars I would. Needed a simple jump start at Prestwick International Airport at 01.30. Initial app eta was given as 02.50. No app updates other than "someone will contact you"so i phoned and the automated system said eta 03.50. Phoned again and after much phone hassle the earliest they could "plan" to get to us was about 09.00. Absolutely pathetic for such a central location. Yes we were offered a taxi to our hotel 30 miles away but there was no plan as to how and when to get me back and the car going.
Made my own enquiries and got a jump start at 02.45
2nd time in 2 years I've had dreadful service. Gave them a 2nd chance but never again.

Hey Gary, sorry about that, we'd always prioritise those in dangerous locations and at the roadside first to get them to safety. We're pleased we offered to get you a taxi so you could get some sleep, and that you got the car sorted.

A pleasant surprise

Great service, simple to book or amend and plenty of txt or email reminders.
On arrival at Lanzarote the driver was waiting and put us on the phone to his office who advised that there was another traveller to join us. Although we had book a private transfer we accepted that they had an issue and these thingshappen. Very pleasantly surprised when a few days later a 25% refund appeared in my bank. Driver was prompt on our return leg too.
Only thing to watch is that the companies system automatically set the return time I assume based on a flight number but which was somehow a few hours out from what we'd given and we had to simply amend it.

Worse than useless not even worth 1 star.

Worse than useless. Ordered a collection service from a seller and collection wasn't done 3 days in a row. Hours on chat and phonelines with loads of apologies and promises of scaling up the issues through management.
Bottom line is that in non central belt areas Parcelforce ask Royal Mail to do the collection but by their own admission and history this partnership doesn't work and Parcelforce seem incapable of sorting it out and incapable of direct person to person contact with their partner. Nobody takes personal ownership to the failed customer.
Never ever ever again and despite a yearning to shout at Parcelforce until someone listens, I know that would be pointless.
Reference Number included in this review on the remote chance they read reviews and do give a !!!!!

UPDATE. 3 days after I cancelled the collection and 6 days after the intended collection date Royal Mail turned up to collect ! (too late arranged elsewhere)

Financially worth it but awful service

Boat trailer broke 00.30 on a very busy unlit A road. 10 mins to get through to AA, gave full specific details on trailer, lengths and weights. Assured a priority, several finally answered calls to AA and garage arrived at 05.30. Driver didn't have suitable vehicle and didn't know about trailer. More long calls and recovered at 07.30. 4 more recovery vehicles used with boat even left at a service station, before finally home. I only ever saw the load on one actually AA vehicle and expressed grave concerns about its suitability for the load.Yes it was 200 miles and a ferry but still nearly 60 hours and only because I had to constantly phone, moan, insist and complain. Trailer is further damaged, I believe due to inappropriate loading and there is superficial boat damage. If I could be bothered with the hassle I'd take that further.
Probably value for money as saved me a fortune but incredibly unprofessional service.
AA management please feel free to respond!

Worse than useless

Worse than useless, avoid at all costs.
Promised a refund in 1-5 days after parts went missing in shipping so reordered elsewhere. 9 days later no refund but the parts turned up. Couldn't refuse delivery as I was out. Now they expect me to return parts and get a refund when (if) they get them back. Made it clear to them I don't trust their shipping to get them back but if they do then refund me and I'll send them.
Customer service is woeful with no apparent means of complaint.
