Absolutely outrageous experience with Krakow Direct through GetYourGuide.

We booked a tour to Auschwitz thinking we had real skip-the-line tickets — exactly as advertised. Then, only the day before, they suddenly informed us that tickets were “not guaranteed”.

We showed up at 6:30 a.m., left early, and arrived around 8:00–8:30 a.m. — only to be told there were no tickets left. The entire bus agreed — we’d been fooled. Everyone thought we had a proper guided visit, not just a transfer.

And what did we get for €37 each?
👉 Just a bus ride, nothing more.
👉 No entry, no guide, no assistance.
👉 Told to wait until 6:45 p.m. for the return bus — that’s over 10 hours doing absolutely nothing — unless we paid extra for a train back to Krakow.

The guide couldn’t care less. No empathy, no help, no responsibility — just “Too bad.”

And if you’re “lucky” enough to get a free last-minute ticket yourself? They don’t even compensate you by giving the audio guide or the promised booklet included in the tour. Nothing at all.

We came all the way to visit Auschwitz — and ended up standing in front of it, unable to enter, watching others go in. It was humiliating. There are buses for under €5, yet we paid €37 just to be stranded in front of one of the most meaningful historical sites in Europe.

Do NOT book with Krakow Direct.
They mislead customers, offer no real service, and show zero respect for visitors. A complete scam and an absolute disgrace.

Went to auschwits trip and had a tour guide called walker, couldn't fault him very well knowledge and informative from start to finish

Booked auswitch trip, asked for a early morning trip as I was leaving the same day,msg me the day before trip ,pick up time between 12.30-12.55 pm absolutely a waste of time. Would advise everyone to avoid using this company, 😞

Do not touch this company, falsely advertise their auschwhitz tours stating they have pre-purchased your tickets and have the use of an English tour guide., this is totally fictional, your trip gets changed with less than 24 hrs to go, making it impossible to apply for the refund on their site. A 7 hr trip can quickly turn into a 15 hour trip, pick up changed to really hours of the morning, having to queue for hours for your tickets and not guaranteed one, no English tour guide available
Absolute scam, Krakow Direct should be upfront and let people know your tickets are no pre-purchased

Ho ricevuto un messaggio alle ore 20 del giorno prima della partenza per la visita prenotata al Museo Auschwitz - Birkenau tramite whatsapp che mi proponeva la partenza alle ore 3:20 di notte. Il museo apre alle ore 7:30. Mi è stato rifiutato il rimborso motivando che pagando avevo accettato le clausole del contratto; sul biglietto fra le clausole c'è scritto che la partenza poteva avvenire a partire dalle ore 5:30. Non è possibile avviare una causa legale perchè il fornitore non ha sede secondaria in Italia.

We had a fabulous tour to the Salt Mines. Pick up time and location instructions were clear and easy to follow. Our driver Michael was lovely and very helpful, he even offered to drop us back off directly at our apartment.

We were not informed in the right way for this very expensive tour we needed to be picked up at 7.30 pm and only can enter a polish speaking guidetour at 1.15 pm. We now can opt for a refund of 15% but this is rediculous

Only 1/3 drivers won’t leave you stranded at the site. Mine left me In Auschwitz-Birkenau without checking where I was. The company said he had the wrong number (BS), I was lost and had no one to contact except their office by email (what if I didn’t have internet?) and also said he waited an hour (BS).

Be careful because they said they will give me a new driver and he drove away as well. I needed to literally find their van in the parking lot and sit in it for 3 hours in order not to miss the ride back.

Also the reservation said an English tour and I got the tour in polish with an English book to read about it. Bad

This company is shameful.

They were very happy to take our money for a tour. Pick up at 7.30am, changed late the day before to 5.45am. Very inconvenient but okay.

Then on the day it becomes clear they have not actually got us tickets and there is a 2.5 hour queue we need to wait in to get the tickets. Then because we got tickets on the day, a 3 hour wait to enter the museum. So 5 hours wasted effectively because they greedily took our money without actually having tickets to sell.

The offer of a free lunch was offensive for the complete waste of our time and the contempt in which we were treated.

Be very careful about this company. For us it was effectively a very expensive taxi service.

My experience with this company was disastrous. I booked in advance for an 8:00 a.m. tour of Auschwitz. I asked the day before if I could change to an afternoon tour of Auschwitz. I was offered a 2:20 p.m. tour. I accepted and ended up in a pointless salt mine, with 50 floors to descend on foot and 4 km of tunnels to explore. When I got back to the hotel, I asked for a refund. Krakow Direct offered me a 4:30 a.m. tour of Auschwitz instead, which I declined.
Run away!

We paid over €500 for a disaster trip to Auschwitz! Our original tour operator cancelled on us last minute so we booked with Krakow Direct through our hotel. We had to meet at 7.30 am 1km away from our hotel, the driver Jay was really lovely-the only highlight of the day! We arrived to Auschwitz at 8.40 am only to join a queue that we waited in for over 3hrs (in 30° heat!), when we got to the top of the queue we were told that the next English tour was at 2pm- 2 more hours of waiting!!! So after 5 hrs we headed off on our tour, we were literally frogmarched around, it felt very insensitive- literally like walking on graves. We decided not to go ahead to Auschwitz 2 and had to wait another 2hrs for the bus to return us to Krakow (1hr drive away). All in all about 12hrs of time spent badly. Would not recommend at all. None of the correspondence gave any details that we would have to wait, I wrongly assumed that by booking through the company that we were buying tickets for the tour but no they are just drive you there and back, they purchase your tickets for you after an extremely long wait.

Pawel took four of us a very informative drive to Zakopane today. Very pleasant company.
The reason I have only given four stars is because I felt that the town and even worse on top of the ridge, after the lovely funicular ride, was so commercial. This certainly wasn't advertised as being so commercial.
It disapated the pleasure of visiting such beautiful scenery around. The restaurant Pawel recommended was very good thankfully.

We used Krakow Direct for transfers from and to the airport and found the service to be first class, the drivers were very friendly. Our flight arrived one hour late but our driver was still there to pick us up
This is the third time I have used this company and never had any problems.
I would definitely recommend them.

Booked a transfer from the airport, but the driver didn't wait. We were 3 minutes over the hour from landing to getting to the meeting point, a very slow passport control process. No attempt to contact me, either to see if we were on our way or they had decided to leave us in the lurch. Feel scammed.

We did the shooting academy, auschwitz-birkenau and salt mines via krakow direct. Shooting range we did private, others shared.

All pick ups from hotel.

Very easy and convenient. Lovely, helpful drivers, especially Walker who was just an extra helpful guy. Cuts down on queueing and you can choose English guide.

Just a great all round experience. Highly recommend.

We booked them from and too the airport. Both drivers were lovely. Comfortable vehicles and helpful, friendly drivers. I wish I had known that I could have booked other outings with them. Totally trustworthy

We booked a trip to the Salt-mines and we’re given a pickup time of 8:30. This was then changed to 7:30 at quite a late stage.We tried to get hold of someone by email and text to no avail. So we had to go with the earlier slot. It did in fact suite us as we had an another drive around Krakow. However it is not appropriate to just change timings to suite yourself and then not engage with explanations or ignore people when they try to contact you.

We arranged a trip to Auswitch with KrakowDirect. The driver was very good and helpful.
However, the big negative was that we paid extra for the snack box lunch but this was never provided, we simply didn't get it.
We emailed the company twice to ask them to refund the extra money we paid them for the optional lunch but they never even bothered to reply.
So, our advice would be to never order the snack box lunch from them on your trip

4 days in Krakow me and my 2 boys did the full Austwicz tour. Our guide was Jack who was so knowledgable and super helpful. The day was long but such a great experience. Thanks Jack

We are just back from 5 fabulous days in Krakow. we decided to visit Zakopane/thermal baths. We went online and booked through "get my guide". What we didn't realise was we only booked transfers to and from Zakopane. The "get my guide" website isn't great and its pretty misleading, BUT the details are there and we, like many others didn't pay for what we thought we did. I feel like most of the negative comments referring to this as being a rip off, are because people don't read the booking details (like us) when they initially plan/book the trip. There is no doubt about it that the website (which isn't anything to do with Krakow Direct by the way) is awful and needs to be better, but i feel like common sense needs to be applied. Paying £99 for two people going almost 2 hrs away, with thermal baths, cable car tickets, spending a full day there and then back is very cheap. Looking back i wasnt surprised that we'd not actually booked and paid for the full experience.

We were lucky enough to be picked up by "Jack" the morning of our trip. He kindly, and very patiently sat and explained that what we'd booked wasnt the full tour and explained that we can purchase tickets in Zakopane for the cable cars/thermal baths. He was so polite, very friendly and was chatting to my husband on the way there giving him lots of facts/knowledge on Poland/Krakow. When we got to Zakapone he helped us select the correct tickets for cable cars and thermal baths. Without his his help, this would have been very confusing!

We had the best time ever in Zakopane and we cant wait to go back. THANK you so much Jack, you were fabulous and we really appreciated your help. You are a credit to Krakow Direct.
