Bullying people for money

I have a good friend who has had a very bad experience with this company and I know this company has provided a couple of friends with vehicles. They have been pressuring him for money and also they have stated that they still have his bank and card details and told him that they will be taking money without his consent from his account. I am in London and will be visiting this company to discuss this matter face to face. I would strongly suggest that you do not provide them with any personal details due to this situation. I have advised my friend to contact a solicitor and report this to the police as a fraudulent matter. They are nothing but bullies and they are trying to take money from hard working people. Scumbags. I am also going to report this matter to companies house and provide them with the emails that they are sending to my friend. I strongly encourage anyone to keep their distance from this company.

Failed to provide a replacement vehicle

I was contacted on Sunday and advised that a vehicle had been arranged and would be delivered to me on Monday at approximately midday.

Based on this confirmation, I made the necessary arrangements expecting the vehicle to arrive as scheduled. However, on Monday morning I received a further call informing me that the vehicle had been involved in an accident and was therefore no longer available.

I was then advised that no alternative vehicle could be offered and that my booking had been returned to BMW.
As a result of this late notice and lack of contingency planning, I was left completely without a vehicle, causing significant inconvenience and disruption. No suitable replacement or solution was provided, despite the short notice and the impact this situation has had on my commitments.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback, following on from your recent experience with us. I am sorry to hear of the issues that occurred with your booking request.

When timeframes are provided, these are based on factors within our control (vehicle allocation, driver availability etc), however there can occasionally be situations entirely outside of our control.

I have taken a look into your booking and can see that the original vehicle allocated was scheduled for collection from its previous hire in the morning. Upon arrival, it was noted that there was accident damage which we had not been notified of, causing significant damage to the rear bumper of the vehicle and it was immediately taken off the road and into a BMW approved body shop for assessment and repair. Regrettably, due to booking volumes we initially did not have a suitable alternative to offer for the same day, however we would continue to source a suitable replacement after conversation with you.

We had offered a vehicle for delivery on the following day, which you declined due to the excess terms. We then offered an alternative which was eligible for the reduced excess option, however you had advised that your own vehicle was due to be ready for collection and therefore the hire was not required.

We do apologise for any inconvenience caused by this and we thank you for sharing feedback with us - We take all customer feedback seriously and will use your comments to help refine our communication and service delivery.

Great service and Communications

Peter who dropped off my hire care was great at communicating about the drop off, very polite and well knowledgeable about the car. I could not have asked for more.
The actually boring of the car was very quick and easy… top stuff

From the 1st call organising the hire vehicle to the car drop off I couldn’t fault the service. Ally was very thorough with the handover, explained everything, called with an ETA and was very friendly. Would not hesitate to use LCH in the future if needed

We used this company on 2 occasions

We used this company on 2 occasions, and were very impressed with how quickly and efficiently they handled our replacement car. We were told exactly what time the car would arrive, and the man who brought it Mahmood was one of the nicest and friendliest guys we have ever dealt with. We would 100% deal with this company again, and would like to reiterate how great Mahmood was, he’s a real credit to this company.

BMW Assist avoid LCH Automotive

Important Advisory for BMW Assist Customers Regarding LCH Automotive

BMW Assist customers are strongly advised to decline vehicle hire services from LCH Automotive if offered, and instead request a vehicle from Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Based on my experience, LCH Automotive ranks among the most poorly managed companies I have encountered. While their customer service representatives are courteous over the phone, the overall operation of the company is disorganized and inefficient. I would strongly recommend avoiding this provider.

LCH and Enterprise appear to be competing for BMW Assist contracts. In my case, Enterprise provided a significantly superior service and vehicle, delivering a BMW iX in place of the BMW i4 offered by LCH. Enterprise also accepted my company’s business group insurance policy, which covers any driver for any vehicle. In contrast, LCH refused to honor this policy and insisted I use their insurance, which carries excessive excess fees—£1,000 for general damage and £90 for minor issues such as wheel scuffs.

A major concern is LCH’s approach to vehicle damage. Their vehicles are often presented as luxury or premium, yet arrive in mediocre condition with visible damage. The driver who delivered my vehicle took particular interest in documenting every minor imperfection, claiming previous renters would be charged automatically via their card on file. This practice raises serious ethical concerns, especially as there is little evidence that the company repairs the damage it charges for.

In one instance, I was nearly charged for a superficial tyre scuff, despite the vehicle not having been driven and retaining the same mileage as at delivery. The mark in question was covered in tyre shine applied during the valet, suggesting it was not new damage.

Additionally, LCH’s vehicles are equipped with dash cams and tracking devices, including in-cabin monitors, which may raise privacy concerns for some users.

The vehicle handover process was unnecessarily lengthy—45 minutes to inspect the car on delivery and 30 minutes upon collection—even though the vehicle had not been used.

It is also worth noting that LCH drivers appear to be incentivized to identify and report damage, possibly through commission or penalties, which may explain their overly meticulous inspections.

Especially when it was the same driver who dropped the car off the day before who also picked it up!

In summary, I strongly advise BMW Assist customers to request Enterprise as their preferred provider. Enterprise offers better vehicles, more flexible insurance options, and a far more professional experience.

Recommendation: Avoid LCH Automotive.

They don’t like you finding damage!

Having had a car delivered after mine broke down, I was delivered a beautiful car with small signs of damage. While I appreciate things like this can happen, I was amazed that the delivery driver would not allow me to record this damage which resulted in me rejecting the vehicle.
Double check your car if you are hiring.

Terrible company and customer service

I've had 2 experiences with this company and both have been very poor. Firstly, I had hired a replacement car to arrive that evening to get me home but they rang last minute to say it wouldn't arrive until the next day - not very good when I was 2 hours from home. Secondly, I spent 2 weeks arranging for a hire car and for it to arrive prior to 3 o' clock on the delivery day as I had to attend a meeting at 5 with a 2 hour drive. They rang me 1 hour before the delivery slot to announce it would be 2 hours late. I was offered compensation of £50 towards a taxi, which wouldn't even get me half way there. Took absolutely no responsibility for the impact on my day or work.

I have taken a look into the history of both booking requests that you have referenced in your review. On the first occasion, due to the time that your booking was received, we were unable to facilitate a same-day delivery, and at your request the booking was cancelled for your Roadside Assistance Provider to seek alternative options for you, to get you mobile on the same day and back home.

With reference to the second booking, unfortunately there was a delay caused due to trains on this day which impacted the arrival time of our driver. Once a delivery is confirmed, the only way that these timings would be changed is if something occurs entirely outside of our control and is unforeseen, such as delays with public transport or an accident/road closure enroute. If delays are unavoidable, we strive to provide as much notice of this as possible and I can see that you were given between 1 and a half to 2 hours notice.

We do however completely understand that you would have placed reliance on the timings provided and apologise for the inconvenience that occurred due to this unforeseen delay.

Really impressed with the prompt…

I was really impressed with the prompt delivery of our courtesy car. Our car unexpectedly needed to stay in the garage a few days longer, within about 4hrs Ally was on his way from Glasgow to drop off the car. Ally arrived on time with a brand new car, he was polite, friendly and explained everything in detail resulting in a seamless handover. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!
