I was referred to this place by my PCP because she didn't want to prescribe the medication my previous PCP prescribed me for anxiety.
It took them 3 months to reach out to me (after the PCP reached out to them at least 4 times) to finally contact me and set up an appointment at the Rock Hill location. The soonest they could see me was over a month out. Fine, whatever. Anyway, I completed all the intake paperwork online the day before the appointment, as I was supposed to.
I came in a little early for the appointment today, just for them to hand me an iPad to submit the same intake paperwork I filled out online. The iPad apparently flaked out shortly after I handed it back to the receptionist so I had to fill it all out AGAIN. THEN, the iPad couldn't complete the registration process. So, the receptionist printed all the intake forms out for me to fill out. By this point, I was now 30 minutes late for a 55-minute appointment.
I finally went to see the psych np for medication management. She spent mostly the entirety of the remainder of my session asking me the same questions that I had filled out previously (FOUR TIMES, atp) on the forms that she was literally holding in her hands. She asked me why I felt the need to attempt suicide after asking if I had attempted suicide in the last 3 years and I told her I felt my life was over and I had no options. She didn't respond, just stared at her computer.
She then told me that we didn't have enough time to complete the appointment (huh, wonder why...) and scheduled me for a follow-up in a month. She also told me I needed to make an appointment to get labs done in the next week so she could have them for the follow-up .Then, she said, straight-up, that she didn't prescribe the medication I had been on previously to anyone, because it had a risk for dependency. Cool. So this was a waste of time and money...great.
She had me fill out an anxiety assessment in the waiting room and give it to the receptionist before I left.
I ended up having a panic attack after I got home. They take my insurance, but I've heard so many bad things about their billing practices that I'm dreading getting an inevitable statement claiming I owe them some obscene amount.
I'm cancelling the follow-up as soon as I'm done typing this review. This company is straight garbage. The whole experience felt like being on a factory line.
If you value your mental health, AVOID LifeStance. I had felt hopeful and happy before the appointment because I thought I would FINALLY be getting the help I need, only to leave in tears. I literally went seeking to alleviate my debilitating anxiety and left with MORE anxiety.
TL;DR: Terrible experience from start to finish. Impossible to get a hold of ANYONE for ANYTHING with this company. Feels like a scam, honestly. Find a mental health or medication management specialist anywhere else; LifeStance is the worst.

So many issues with LifeStance, where do I begin? I requested records transfer from FL to CA and that never happened, despite using their process to submit. I had a similar issue transferring CO records to FL - it's as if it is a different company in each state, each with its own systems. Poor design if you ask me, but I only build enterprise software for a living, so what do I know?
Now, on to the administrative staff. It takes nothing short of a miracle to actually get someone on the phone when their virtual visit and registration systems fail to work, which is nearly every visit. My spouse and I were both late to our respective appointments, because the registration system quit midstream and wouldn't let us back in to complete the paperwork. Nobody answered the phone until 20 min into the appointment. We were then both told we'd be charged no show fees of $150. If that isn't bad enough, today, after having many, many issues, I was told that even though their own policy says to cancel by Monday for Wednesday appointments, I would be paying $150. I literally tried to cancel over the weekend, but they don't allow that and their text told me to cancel via phone. I couldn't get anybody on the phone all morning, so my call didn't get taken until mid afternoon. I've also had really bad in-person experiences in Florida, where the receptionist was incredible condescending and rude.
Finally, the doctors. The whole reason for dealing with the above nightmares. First I had one in CO, they were nice and all, but not very knowledgeable. When I moved to FL temporarily, I had a different doctor who had to reference their medication book at every visit and didn't really seem to know what they were doing. Fast forward to moving to CA and my visit with a medication management doctor, where they were shocked that I had been prescribed the medications that I was on for my specific disorders. I've now had a few visits with the therapist and one with the medication manager and frankly, I wasn't impressed with either one. I'll be looking for other options outside of Lifestance going forward.

It is EXTREMELY difficult to get ahold of anybody associated with this company. Was told I was being placed onto a medication then was left without the prescription and without provider response for days. I sat on providers zoom waiting room for 45 minutes and then provider finally returned my call/messages! The people who manage this company took over a week to get ahold of me after the negative experience and then I was told that I had to report it to the supervisor and they would call me back! Why did you call me in the first place then if you cannot take care of the issue for me? I fired the provider and learned my lesson with online doctors. They all are terrible and just try and get your money. They do not care about you whatsoever. Please do not take your dog to this place let alone yourself. You deserve better and so does your dog! This place will do nothing for you.

I'll share my experience and you can decide what you think. I made an appointment to try and get ADHD sorted out. My issue is mainly with unfair business practices and not disclosing prices upfront. On my first appointment with the nurse practitioner, I was told that I would need to have bloodwork done and then schedule an in person visit with the psychiatrist to get the prescription. Then I would need to make an appointment with the nurse practitioner four weeks after that appointment and I would need to visit with her every two months following. I had the bloodwork done that day then made the appointment with the psychiatrist. At my appointment, the psychiatrist called me by the wrong name. Then he spent 15 minutes reading to me a pre prepared page about the history of adhd and such. Then he refused to prescribe me the prescription I asked for. Instead he prescribed something else. I had never tried that prescription so I was willing to try it to see if it worked for me. It did not. The side effects were horrid. He told me to schedule an appointment with the nurse practitioner in two weeks, not the four that I was originally told. I made the appointment and met with the nurse practitioner two weeks later to tell her the prescription didn't work. She recommended something else, I told her I couldn't afford it, and she said there was a generic version. Then the pharmacy informed me that even the generic version was $400. No way I could afford that. I had literally just had the appointment with her so I sent her a message saying I couldn't afford it and I'd like to have the medication that actually works. She told me to message the psychiatrist directly. So I did. He told me to discuss it with the nurse practitioner in an appointment. So I sent her a message basically saying I wouldn't be making any more appointments. Okay here are the billing issues...insurance didn't cover the charges even though they said they accept my insurance. And they make you have a credit card on file. I paid $240 the first time, then $111 the second time. Then I got a statement for an additional $193. They charged me for the appointments and also the messages I sent. I called billing to dispute the charges. They didn't have record of one of my payments and I had to find it on my credit card and give them the reference number. They said I'd owe $74 and I'd know something in a couple of weeks. Then they charged my credit card for the $193 and changed the statement to include the "message charges" in the regular appointment. How convenient. So now I'm out $534 for three appointments and I still don't have the right medication. As far as I can tell, they are in violation of the No Surprises Act stating that prices have to be published publicly so you know what you're getting into beforehand. I would not recommend this company at all.

If you value your mental health, please, DO NOT go to LifeStance Health! This is going to be long, but you’ll understand why when you read it.
I had an organ transplant last year, which was very traumatic. I take medication for anxiety. I began seeing a psychiatrist NP at LS, and a therapist, too. The psychiatrist said it was mandatory that I provide a urine sample, and medication couldn’t be provided unless I was seen in person. I did all that I was supposed to do, and let her know I had 5 days of meds left. We scheduled an in-office visit, (2-18-26), so I could get a prescription. I show up to the office, she’s not there. She scheduled me for Zoom, (make that make sense). Naturally, because I didn’t have medication, I, a recent transplant recipient, went into full-blown withdrawal.
Now, keep in mind, you can only reach these people through their patient portal. There’s no one to call in this type of situation. My therapist did give me a number to contact her. The psychiatrist charged me $200 for the in-office visit as a no-show. Then I learned the only way I could see my therapist is if I paid the bill. When I didn’t show up for my appointment with her, LS charged me $20 because she called me to find out what was going on. So I’m going through active withdrawal, calling LS billing department to find out what’s going on (you can get through to THEM), explained to two different people who said they’d have someone contact me, which hasn’t happened to this day, (it’s been over a month), and have been locked out of my LS patient portal account, as well. I was able to find a new psychiatrist, who was able to assist me immediately without a urine test nor seeing me in person. I’m still suffering side effects 4 weeks later, but I did get the help I needed.
I filled out a questionnaire for LS and told them it was everything negative. They said they’d follow up. Haven’t heard a thing. This morning (3-20-26), I awaken to a link for a statement from them.
Having a transplant is EXTREMELY difficult. LS was supposed to help me navigate this experience. They just made it worse and now want me to pay for it. Please, seek help elsewhere. They hurt you more than help you, according to my experience.

TLDR: 55 MINUTE APPOINTMENT CUT DOWN TO 15 MINUTES. THERAPIST COLD AND RUDE. WAS TOLD INSURANCE COVERED BUT NOW OWES $264.67. AFTER A DOZEN OR MORE CALLS NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK.
On 2/24/26 I had an intake appointment with Nicole Asadi from the Sandford location. I arrived on time and was meant to be having a 55 minute appointment. From the very start Nicole was cold, withdrawn, and would not look at me when she was talking to me. We had a super dry 15 minute intake (I know that's common for the first visit. I've been to multiple therapists). After 15 minutes she finished up and attempted to book my next appointment. I asked her if we could take the full 55 minutes as I am really struggling. She said she had nothing left to go over and continued to look uncomfortable and not look at me while I spoke about how I'm struggling with the state of the world right now. After I stopped speaking she just said "Well, I'm not going to tell you who I voted for cause that's not appropriate." I never asked her to tell me that. She never once said anything comforting or empathetic. I left the 15 minute appointment crying and did not schedule again with her. I then scheduled with a second therapist from this office virtually and it was canceled the day of the appointment without anyone letting me know.
I then found out that not only do they still have my debit card on file but that they are charging me for the full appointment because they are stating my insurance isn't covered even after they told me it was. I now have to pay $264.67 to the office that left me crying and worse off after a 15 MINUTE appointment AND canceled on me with no notice and explanation.
I have since called Life Stance over a dozen times and spoke to many people who promised that they would have a manager call me. I have not received ONE call from them. They are soon going to take the $264.67 from my debit card that they have on file which I need to pay my rent.
I am beyond frustrated and distraught. Not to mention I have yet to find a therapist.

I went into TMS with mild expectations and an open mind. TMS definitely surpassed those expectations and put me on a great path that I can build from. I entered TMS fighting against a long battle with depression and had tried many treatments with little progress. TMS has now given me confidence in feeling normal emotions again. Prior I felt very numb and disengaged. Today I feel normal emotions and look forward to my days rather than waiting for them to end. TMS is a big help but I believe it will only work as well as the effort you put into it. The people who surround you while you’re in the chair also contribute to the success of this treatment. Kathrin and Eynas were two of the most positive and uplifting people and cared very much about each patients success. On many days I came with my daughter and the care and compassion they showed towards helping me with her will always be appreciated. Im sure they will both go on to help many more people in the future just like they helped me. As I am sad to end my TMS journey I am very excited to continue on my new path and feel optimistic about life ahead.
