Firstly may I say I am a Moderator on the Facebook group BIG MOTORING WORLD COMPLAINTS - UNOFFICIAL and also having a bad experience myself with BigMW I understand the lottery buying from a car supermarket can be! I did not read the bad reviews on here regarding this company so as not to bias my decisions when buying from them.

My sister was looking for a car and wanted a Toyota CH-R hybrid of which they had 3. When we arrived it was dark but the car seemed in decent condition and after a jump start my sister test drove it and was happy with it. It was the design specification with Sat-Nav and other extras in metallic black for £15,300 on a 2019. We arranged to pick the car up a few days later as it needed a new battery and a parcel shelf. After leaving a £500 deposit we were not told at the time that a £199 admin fee would be added to the total but as most places add this RIP off fee we let it go. On collection the car was bought round the front of the office and final payment was made by chip and pin. They also taxed the car at my sister's cost. Unfortunately there was no FULL SERVICE HISTORY? only a print out of 2 services the latter carried out by themselves. When we looked around the car in the daylight it did have a few minor marks and scuffs but we accepted it was a used car and she drove home.

Hopefully the used car lottery has been in her favor this time? The car drove home fine with no issues at all!!

The sales people we met were friendly. I made it clear I did not want a hard sell on any extras extended warranty, GardX etc and did not receive any.

My sister is over the moon with the car and as Toyota are a reliable make fingers crossed she will get many years of happy motoring!

I have now read the bad reviews.

We were never pressurized into leaving a 5* review as buyers at BigMW are in fact it was never mentioned.

BUYER BEWARE: Do not buy from this Motor Dealership unless you fully check out the details of the car. After purchasing from this Dealership in July 2024, I found that the details of the car were not the same as the details that had been advertised. On asking, I was told that the Advertising Company were using a description for all that type of car and not designated to the car that I was buying. I found the sales person to be very helpful while selling the car, but after the sale, the Company were not as helpful, and I found out that I had not been told the complete truth about the car I had purchased. It seems what they say about not trusting a Car Sales Person is correct. I had some problems with my vehicle and really got no help from LMC, so I contacted my finance Company, which I must say is a good thing to do, at the end of the day, the Finance Company actually own the car until I pay them, and the Finance Company managed to get the answers that I could not, and helped me to get some money back for work I had to do on the car. When I purchased the car, I asked if anything went wrong could I go to a local garage, as LMC were 60 mile away from me, and I was told yes I could do that, but when something went wrong, they were demanding I take the car back to them for works to be done, going back on what they had told me originally. Please check your tyres when looking at a vehicle as 1 of mine should not even have been driven on and another was close behind it, but they are sprayed so look brand new when viewing. Look at the callipers too, mine were all rusted and I have had to have them cleaned down at extra cost to myself. LMC delivered my car to me after not letting me know that I could not purchase it on a Sunday, even though my finance was in place it could not be put through on a Sunday – Why could they not tell me this before I wasted a journey 60 mile going there and 60 mile back, plus having to get someone else to take me there and back, going on a Sunday? When the car was delivered, a friend noticed paint off on the roof – so, please check your roofs before buying. When I drove the car the next day, I noticed a dent in the door handle and a chip in the windscreen, all of which were not there on viewing on the Sunday (this is the money I paid out and my Finance Company retrieved back for me, after LMC refused to do anything unless I took the car back to them) I also asked the Sales person before buying (taking in to account that the sales person was driving the same car I was looking at) if the car had a chain or cambelt, of which I was told belt. On reflection, I wish I had checked myself as I have since found out it is a wet belt which a lot of garages will not touch and I have had to go to a main dealer to have replaced, (also at double the cost of a normal belt). PLEASE CHECK YOUR BELTS AS LMC WILL NOT TELL YOU.
I asked about servicing as the car was advertised with full service history and the Sales person quickly showed me the service history but this was quickly and after buying found out that the car had not had a full service since 2021, again, a cost to me. LMC said they had done an interim service, but after having to ask for the paperwork for this service (no stamp in the service book), could see all they had done was the oil and nothing else.
I may have been naïve when purchasing my car, so, PLEASE CHECK EVERYTHING CLOSELY, as LMC will not tell you the truth about your car.

Purchased car today and looked after by Mo.Extremely helpful nothing to much trouble.
Time will tell, but going on first impressions YES I would recommend.

Sadly had problems with the key within weeks of purchasing ,even with a warranty they wouldn’t help.For this reason I change to 3 stars.

Fab service was approached by Sean when we arrived at the showroom with a smile and friendly manner. Sean was happy to let us look round a number of cars to find one that suits us, he was informative and knew a good amount about the cars and history of them. We put a deposit down same day! Brilliant experience at LMC, very quick service provided by Will. I was always kept up to date on what was going on with the car, a few details mentioned about the car on the viewing were sorted very promptly. The team at LMC are very genuine and polite, would definitely recommend and return.

Very poor experience. Went and viewed a car (EU72XOE) and paid a deposit for the car only to then be told on the day of collection that the car had been removed from market due to a ‘major defect’ (the sales representative claimed it was an engine mount - not something that would deem the car a write off). I asked for a copy of the written defect report but my request was ignored. The car two days later shown on the DVLA website that it had been freshly re-taxed. My deposit was refunded but over a week later. No offer to refund my wasted visit or a decent apology. All very dodgy to me. The dealership prefer customers to pay by finance to make extra money and seemed disinterested in taking my cash payment. I would strongly advise to others to look elsewhere first.

UPDATE: Very little care in your latest response that it has taken you months to respond to tell me a load more nonsense. Why was the car taxed that same week if there were issues with the car?

Deep dissatisfaction,
purchased 2020 MG SUV from LMC on 28th November 2023. Since acquiring the vehicle, I have encountered numerous faults and issues that have not been adequately addressed, despite my repeated attempts to seek assistance through the customer service team, particularly Joe, they seems to have a trained technique to lie their way through.

After purchasing the car, upon delivery, the car had a noticeable dent, which was promptly fixed. However, on the same day, I also reported an issue with the Sat Nav system, which was neither updating nor functioning correctly. The team advised me to take the car to Ancaster for diagnostics, where it was recommended that the full display screen be replaced. Additionally, I was informed that the engine fault indicated on the dashboard needed attention. Their customer service team agreed to resolve these issues, yet, over eight months later, they remain unresolved, despite the vehicle being under warranty from LMC.

Two weeks ago, I brought these issues to their attention once again, only to be passed from one team to another without any resolution. I have returned to the customer service team on multiple occasions regarding these recurring problems, including additional engine faults.

Despite my numerous visits, calls, emailing them, and bringing to their manager notice, no response whatsoever, the car continues to malfunction, causing me significant inconvenience and raising serious concerns about my safety.

LMC car dealership, they lie a lot to gain than satisfying their customers. PLEASE AVOID THEM

Bought a 21 PLATE nissan juke,all was well until the
gloss came off. the tyres have dry rot in the outer walls and the tyre filler was missing.
We contacted LMC SALESMAN: DEAN REYNOLDS who
said he would speak to his manager. not heard from him again despite phoning and leaving messages.
it is illegal to sell a car with no spare wheel and dangerous tyre wear. unhappy customer!
this goes with the other poor reviews you've had.

I bought a Vauxhall crossland x from this dealer less than an year and they showed me the book that full service has been done but I got a major wet belt issue within 3 months and luckily covered under the warranty but when I called them and say about the problem initially they didn’t wanna accept me at the first place! I had to end up in the motorway and pay out of my pocket for RAC to rob to my home. Then he accepted to change but the work took more than a week no curtesy car I had to bear all the taxi expenses. Now not even a year I had the full engine fault. Never go for Vauxhall cross land and second never trust these dealers they don’t really care after they sell the cars! Avoid! Trust me! I’m just crying 😭 I have been payi£255 a month for this car

Sharp practice

Missed a parcel shelf and didn’t even have a complete single key (emergency unlock shaft missing)…. Only disclosed that it was notability after I brought it…

Will claimed “We’ll send you a parcel shelf” …. 6 weeks later that hasn’t happened and will never happen…. And he knows this will never happen

Car on closer inspection was pretty dirty and it smelt funny

First key had shaft missing

USB port for AirPlay broken

Rear seat alarm goes off randomly

The deal I thought I got initially will be sucked up by my having to rectify the issues….

Outstanding, I went there on Friday to view a car after my car had been written off, had the easiest time, the customer service was simply perfect from the first look to me driving away with the car couldn’t of asked for a better service, Thank you LMC and especially Serina

Saw a outlander phev contacted lmc cars spoke to William I went down to dealers he explained car not ready yet he would call me reserved car he called turned up got me an amazing deal with part x pi king car up next week William was professional and polite couldn't be any more helpful..

My car is still in warranty. My door handle keyless opening stopped working and I ask them to fix it under warranty. After twice visiting the garage for extensive testing they decided to charge me £320 for changing the handle. Why?? They decided that my handle had a minutiae scratch and they were fast to blame me for the handle disfunction, pretending that Citroen insuranve does not want to fix the handle.
How the scratch on a handle paint will brake the sensor inside the handle??? What about foulty sensor or wet one or maibe disconected cables??
Additionally and optionally I have been offered to change my four tyres as their tread is 4mm. Ridiculous. What is the minimum for tyres??

Purchased the car on Friday afternoon and drove it home. Charger lead was missing but they said they'd order me one for Monday. Got home and went to move car to get on my drive and it was completely dead. Called them 9am Monday morning to tell them I was calling someone out to replace the battery as I was supposed to be travelling on Friday night. No meaningful apology. I then received a call back asking to be informed of the price of the call out, which they told me was too much! They offered absolutely no solution to me and demonstrated no desire to fix my issue and said they would have a solution for Monday....even though my car couldn't be moved. I live 15 miles away from the garage, but there was no offer for anyone to come and attend. The RAC attended and replaced the battery. It was completely dead and not taking any charge, the mechanic stated that had they checked the vehicle before sale they would have known that. I forwarded on the invoice asking for reimbursement and a relevant amount of compensation for the loss of my weekend away and the time taken to resolve it MYSELF. It is now 11am Monday, No call to see if the car is now okay, no reply to my email asking for reimbursement etc.....after the sale, the service has been truly awful. Avoid.
