Another job well done from Local Drain Services. Involved way too much for me to do, so called them in and was very please with speed of service. Cost was acceptable for the amount of work involved. Gerry the leader of a 3 man team was really professional in all aspects.

Unfortunately I had a blocked toilet so I went on google and found local services drainage… they came out within a few hours and cleared a small blockage within 5 minutes! Highly professional gentleman who solved my issue! Recommend!!

Updated 14:10 - Your response to discredit my review is laughable. The only fake reviews are all the recent five star reviews you have had conducted by friends and staff. You only have to look at your bad reviews to understand the kind of company you are. Family run…. See you in court!

Nothing short of criminal!

My mother had these thugs out to deal with a blocked toilet. They advertised themselves as a local company offering reasonable prices. However the two criminal looking teens that arrived were from 3 hours away.

So you can imagine my shock when I find an invoice from local services totalling over £5000 for some sleeving.

My mother has dementia and finds it very difficult to talk, I have POE and would normally deal with her finances as she is forgetful and incapable of making these decisions. Anyone that has more than a 30 second conversation would realise this. Keen to understand what policies you have in place to protect the vulnerable. As not sure taking there every last penny suffices.

The independent insurance assessors have come out and said the sleeving is faulty and the word carried out which I believe to be around 4 meters of sleeving should be around £500 not the £5000 charged!!

I have spoken to the business who of course are taking no responsibility, and in fact were rude and dismissive. No surprise considering the calibre of person they send to peoples houses.

Insurers have advised me to log this with the police, trading standards and local authority which I have done.

I hope this review at least helps one other person not end up in this position.

Crooks and Thieves

We had our drains backing up and over flowing at our property in St. Albans.

Called these guys to help out and get the pipes unblocked. Unfortunately I couldn't attend so I got my wife to stay around to help.

They were very responsive at the start and got someone to attend within 3hrs.

Upon arrival they gave her some bull story, stating the drains has collapsed/dropped and the job couldn't be completed and they will have to come back and reline the pipe at a cost of £2,700.00.

Charging my wife with a £1,350.00 deposit!

After coming home from work, i called a local plumber (GHPS - Big Shout out to these local guys!) They came round within the hour and noticed something wasnt right straight away as soon as he opened the drain cover! By the way they only attended with a single plunger rod and no fancy jet wash unit!!!

Within 10mins the blockage was removed and the pipes flowing freely with no sign of drain collapse/dislodge anywhere!

Local Services Drainage could have easily sorted the issue with the jet rod they had tried to use on the visit!

They knowingly tried to take advantage of my wife thinking they had an easy steal! I am absolutely appalled that they could try and rob us for our money!

After sending a strong email and sending video evidence to them of our so called drains collapsed and that couldn't be unblocked, they haven't tried to contact me back or answer my calls.

This shows exactly what sort of company this is! Not even to make contact to try and give an excuse!

Good thing the deposit was paid by credit card! That's getting cancelled!

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY!

If i could leave 0 stars i would, this company is nothing more than a scam. The engineers are con artists who will completely try and rip you off. The owner took no responsibility when these issues were raised to him. I have reported to trading standards. I highly recommend noone use this company.

This company is nothing short of a scam in plain sight. I was charged £648 to unblock a shower drain and after two hours and two so-called engineers, the drain was still blocked. They left me with the same problem I started with, only lighter in the pocket by an obscene amount of money.
On top of that they messed things up further. They didn't bother to replace the manhole cover, and when they opened the shower waste trap they didn't even screw it back on properly. The cover was left sticking up and I had to fix both things myself.
Out of frustration I called Dyno-Rod. One man arrived, charged £190 including VAT, and cleared the drain in under 20 minutes. That alone shows how shameless and incompetent Local Services Drainage really is.
Their pricing is extortionate, their workmanship careless, and their entire service utterly incompetent.
In my view this company exists only to fleece desperate people. A quick look online proves l'm not the only victim.
Avoid at all costs. They charge a fortune, mess up your property, and still don't solve the problem.

Plumbing engineer who attended was just very helpful and took me through all the decisions being made including showing camera footage of the pipes. Had an excellent attitude and manner. Made me feel comfortable when I was feeling pretty low

From quote was extremely high, almost double, I now know, what other companies charge. I felt I had no time to think as said they would come next day and situation was urgent.
The guys who actually did the work, I can’t fault, they worked very hard, completed soak away in 5 hours and were friendly and considerate. The materials would not have cost more that £300
I was charged nearly £6000 inc VAT.
It took 8phone calls and 2 emails and 5 months to get the bags of rubbish outside my gate removed. Had I not gone out the guy would only have taken one of the two, so another call to ensure both were taken.
It also took 6 calls to get the tarmac topped up as it dropped causing a trip hazard across my drive.
I sent quotes from 3 companies showing the fair price and asked the director of company to ring me or respond to emails, but no contact was received.
I absolutely would never use this company again.

We called the company for drain survey - they were quick to respond and sent a guy out on the same day. They quoted £250 on the phone but charged £300 and couldn’t take my word that it was £250 quoted (saying this didn’t include VAT).

Unfortunately we’ve needed to pay for another survey as not all the drains were covered and no layout plan was drawn on the report. They found issues with displaced pipes and suggested a respite could be done the next day at a discount. I was expecting the quote to be sent with the report but I felt pressured by the technician to agree to the work on the spot. After he spent several minutes adding it all up on his phone and talking about discounts for xyz but only if I agreed to go ahead with the work as it was an emergency situation. The prices to fit a sleeve in the drain were over £3,000. I’ve since spoken with other companies who’ve advised for the length of drain in question the price should be much lower. I contacted the company to ask about the additional £50 charge but they did not reply. They also sent the report via a link that was time limited and could only bd opened with a Dropbox account. It was difficult to save and then send the report to the building company that had requested it - only to find it was not fit for purpose. Definitely £300 wasted.

Avoid this company , we initially asked for a survey to the drains of our property as we suspected a blockage , unfortunately we aren’t able to be in due to work when they turned up so got the father in law to be there , the guy who turned up said the drains had collapsed or cracked and needed re lining and a new p trap installed , saying they could get the work done the same day at a cost of 3000 pounds , the workers they sent were very shady about why the work needed to be done , just saying “it’s what we were told to do” also told me I’d receive further documents after the work and received nothing , company is shady at best and I believe thought my father in law was the owner so put on him with regards to how much work was needed I asked the technicians to provide cctv forage and pictures to show why the works was needed with the survey report and they said it would be in this pack , which we never received will be taking this further and in the process of doing this.

Steve and Dan did a good job confirming the issue, a root in the pipe, and rectifying it. Polite, reassuring and working at pace they cracked on and got the job done. However, they could have cleaned up better, I now have cement stains on my drive. My main concern was the significant cost increase of £1250 from price quoted for a job that only took 5 hours with minimal materials.

Further to the below I have been seeking clarification on the cost increase for over a month and have to date yet to receive an accurate report for the work carried out. The latest invoice shows £1950 + VAT for works that were not undertaken and despite asking for a call to discuss this incorrect charging have not been contacted. It is a pity that the customer service does not match the work done. Most disappointing and I suspect my only option will be legal action to recover false charging for work not carried out.

Overflowing drain inspection point. Large quantity of awfulness found thereabouts. Submitted a website query, called back in <10 minutes. Team out early next morning. Fully inspected our quite complicated collection of drains, mapped and advised. Camera down all of them, clearly visible degradation and obstructing roots, which were unsurprising in our rural garden with a 60+ year old drainage system. Newly (ish) installed drainage system following some building work was not adequately connected to mains sewerage, again clearly demonstrated on camera. Quote provided included breakdown of costs and explanation. Team out next day dug out and resited drain, digging out to a depth of approximately 2m, ensuring adequate connection to main sewerage. Roots removed, 18m+ of liner inserted from property to boundary line. Significant amount of work done quickly and effectively at short notice, problem now fully resolved at time of writing. Initially thought the quote was quite high, but some research suggested it was reasonable. Thanks to Gert, Charlie, Jack and Monty for their work.

Joel was a very polite and efficient worker, he solved my blocked sink problem quickly and I am very pleased with the results.

Spotted a suspicious trickle from a manhole and called Reading Drains in mild panic. Gert arrived fast, diagnosed the problem, and provided clear, key information — including the likely cause, why it became apparent now, and practical preventative measures.
Two days of determined work later, I had a video of a clear drain. Really great service, zero pushy sales spiel, and a heroic effort — wouldn’t hesitate to call again! Thank you Gert!

Everyone I dealt with was professional , friendly and took the time to explain what was the issue and what was needed. Really couldn’t recommend Gert, Charlie and Jack highly enough. They genuinely cared about me and doing the best job possible

Every single person who dealt with the issues, in person and on the phone were incredible. They gave me as much information as they could on what needed to be done, and why, prioritising us as the problems were severe. Whenever I had to call the office about payments or queries everyone was kind, patient and so willing to help. Everything was communicated quickly and resolved quickly. The workmen who came to fix the issue were friendly, professional, clean, and very kind to my inquisitive child who kept inspecting their work. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Great team. Called me an hour prior to there arrival as requested. Efficient and answered all my questions on the day. Went through everything with me and my mum.
