Not fit for purpose car and unreasonable penalty charges
The vehicle broke down on a number of occasions. Some warning lights were explained when we spoke to and visited a Locauto site but the advice given (minor electrical issue not to be concerned about) was not consistent with a car that repeatedly broke down causing increasing stress levels. Recovery vehicle would have taken the car and left us at the side of the road if the car had not managed to start again.
On way back to airport car broke down again and we would have missed our flight standing at the side of the road. Managed to get going again but no confidence that if we stopped it would start again so could not fill up with petrol. Got charged for fuel penalty. Finally the car had done over 70000k and had a good number of minor scratches when we got it, we had no bumps, accidents or scrapes but somehow Locauto charged for a number of “new” issues.

We conduct thorough pre-rental inspections on all our vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order before each handover. However, certain technical or electronic issues—such as an ESC warning light or a license plate light indicator—can unfortunately arise unexpectedly during a trip.
We are deeply sorry for the stress and frustration you experienced due to these breakdown concerns.
This experience was certainly not up to the high standards of service we aim to deliver.
We take your observations very seriously and sincerely hope to have another opportunity in the future to regain your trust and provide you with a much better experience.

However, we are truly sorry that the alternative vehicles offered did not meet your expectations or feel equivalent to you.

Sono una cliente abituale e, viaggiando spesso per lavoro, cerco sempre di prenotare la stessa categoria di auto per avere maggiore familiarità e comfort alla guida. Con Locauto mi sono sempre trovata molto bene, anche perché spesso ha a disposizione vetture Audi, che rappresentano la mia scelta preferita. Purtroppo, questa volta l’auto assegnata non era particolarmente recente e non disponeva di sistemi di collegamento per lo smartphone ...Sarebbe davvero importante garantire sempre la connettività con lo smartphone, perché i tempi in cui ci si collegava tramite l’accendisigari sono finiti da un bel po’! 😊
