Lovo.ai is so mid it's actually painful. The voice quality is okay, but the text-to-speech sounds way too robotic for my clips and the UI is a literal maze. I tried using it for my stream, but it’s so laggy and the free version is basically a joke because you can't even download anything without a watermark. Honestly, just save your time and use something else because this ain't it.

They switched from Lovo to Genny and changed the LTD, but they provided 2 hours a month instead of the agreed-upon subscription. The business is probably defunct because you can't renew the miniscule hours they gave you to compensate for the unethical deal cancellation. Once a business engages in unethical practices, it is likely to continue doing so in the future.

I feel ripped off. Two years ago, the slowness of the text generation was just manageable, but now it's unacceptably slow. And my various complaints over the past few years have done NOTHING to help. Furthermore, I haven't noticed any improvement in voice quality in recent years, so Genny has now been overtaken on all fronts. I canceled my subscription and switched to a competitor. It's five times cheaper, 100, no, 500 times faster (seconds instead of hours), and has far fewer errors in UK English pronunciation.

The Genny voice generator has been deteriorating in service for the past few months and as of Jan 2026 it is unusable!! There is always a "sever error" message and you get asked to come back later. When you do - - - the same problem. I won't be reewing my subscription and there are better, more reliable services out ther.

I made a mistake by forgetting to cancel my subscription and was charged for the annual renewal. I was very stressed about it, but LOVO/Genny support was understanding and kind. They processed a refund for me, and I truly appreciate their help and professionalism. Thank you for the great customer service!

Is a scam. They stole our money and barely the system works.

This company is unreachable after they've stolen your money. Genny, with their Genny voice generation software, is a scam and fraudulent business. The platform doesn't contain voices from the countries they claim to include, such as those in Africa, and even though I cancelled my subscription, they still billed me this month. It's impossible to contact them to file a complaint.

Don't even consider giving any credit card info. Still charges credit card after the cancellation of the subscription.

Fraudulent company. They sold lifetime subscription to text-to-speech project and then removed it. New product Genny advertises free trial but it's a false advertising and a waste of customers' time: you spend time creating the content and then they don't allow to download it until you pay. What kind of free trial is this?

Frauds. They reactivate cancelled subscriptions months after you cancel and then fight the payment disputes. There is no customer service contact info anywhere, yet they have staff on standby for payment disputes, so this is obviously intentional and planned.

They have pretty good text-to-speech voices but they are deceptive when it comes to pricing their plans. I purchased the 5hr plan which I already knew for a fact the audio for my project would be well under 5 hrs. Well, I got to the last 3 chapters of my book and it said I ran out of "generation" hours. I didn't know how that was possible. Then I realized I had to regenerate parts of the book because the author's voice I chose couldn't pronounce certain things in the book. I didn't know until it was generated. This happened at least 10-15 times. So I would go back and literally have to write a word they couldn't pronounce in a way that they could even if it was spelled correctly originally and spell it incorrectly just so they could say it correctly. So I was thinking that wouldn't cost much if any. No. If there's one word in a paragraph block that needs to be corrected, they count that whole block as being regenerated which can take off a few minutes for each block. There's no way to check first to make sure the author's voice can pronounce, or even say things the way you need them to. So even if you're trying to test a word or phrase out to get it just right, each change for that entire block costs you. Not only that they didn't save a chapter I got halfway through and I lost 15 minutes that I had to redo but it was already counted as generated. Not only that, when you run out of hours used and say you only need just a little more time, you can not get the same plan you had. You have to get the bigger package or the smaller package. If you want the same affordable plan you have to wait 30 days or purchase the next plan which is triple the price. So they figure if you want it bad enough, you'll just buy the next one or you're just f***. It's a way to trick you into getting stuck one way or another and taking as much money as they can get out of you. I hate businesses like this. They look for ways to get you even if their product is somewhat decent there's always a hurdle that will lead to you spending way more money instead of just being honest and trustworthy. You can't email them but if you comment on their website they will comment some bs to rationalize their bs. It's a gimmick. So If you are on a strict budget this place isn't for you. At all. They have designed ways to make you pay more or you can't complete your project. If they reply trying to rebuttal after this, just know its bs too. I'm making my rounds on all the other review sights I can. I may file a report with consumer affairs as deceptive services. Because I see all the other comments of people saying the same and until someone does something they'll keep doing it. Seeing that my business is used to dealing with these type of businesses, I'll make sure it's reported.

I chose Lovo.ai and Genny for one reason: I could synthesize my own voice for narrating my books. I am not a pro at narration, and cannot afford the high cost of hiring someone as I am a new author. Genny gives me the ability to narrate my own books.
It is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, the voice is actually really good. I edit the audio files with Audacity, so I can remove weird stuff that happens occasionally - like the sound of breathing (?). All-in-all I like the software a lot.
My beef with Lovo.ai is their pricing, and time. The pro level gives you only 5 hours a month. 5 hours is not enough to do a whole book. Especially the first time. I used up two months of generation time getting the first book out the door. Book two went better. But they steal time from you. On the 29th of July, I had 2 hours of generation time left. They erased that the next day, and gave me my quota of only 5 hours for the month of August. As far as I am concerned, I had two more days in July. This has happened before as well. In June and May they did the same thing. BEFORE the end of the month, they wiped out what ever time I had left and started the next month.
They will not budge on their payment plans. The one I have now (PRO) is a far cry from the next level up. Pro gives me 5 hours, the next one is 20 hours and a whole lot more money.
So if you are not needing to synthesize your voice, and you have only small projects -- this is an IDEAL product.

I started with the free trial and after about an hour of using the product, I was super disappointed in the quality. I immediately canceled my subscription using the instructions provided in their FAQ.

The company then continued to bill me for months and when I reached out to ask for it to be corrected they said they have no record of my cancellation so they would not refund my money. I never logged in again after my cancellation request. Bad way of doing business.

The voices were taken without the people's consent. They stole them and not paying the actors.

Needs serious speeding up to be a usable tool.

Absolutely underwhelming. LOVO.ai's lack of support is glaring, and the constant stability issues make it nearly unusable
