What a hopeless system. No indication that you can use contactless 🙄 so I bought a ticket using a QR code. I was sent a pdf of 4 pages that wouldn’t get me through the barrier. I DON’t carry a printer with me when going to the airport. So flashed the phone to the person on the barrier. They didn’t even look. On the return, a pre purchased ticket with a QR code didn’t work. Again, had to join the scrum at the wide barrier to get through. The journey is uncomfortable and the train looks cheap and plasticky. It also moves slowly.

The only 5star reviews here are INVITED by the company that runs this rubbish system:

Why have Buy Ticket buttons on the site that don’t work? I’m coming from Eastern Europe where this is like basic basic functionality and here we have public transport from one of 4 London airports stuck in the early 1990’s…

I recently used the DART at London Luton Airport and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. The whole system is incredibly efficient and seamless—trains run frequently, and the journey itself takes just a few minutes, making transfers quick and stress-free.
What really stood out was how convenient everything felt. The connection between Luton Airport Parkway station and the airport terminal is smooth, clearly signposted, and easy to navigate—even with luggage. It completely removes the usual hassle of getting from train to terminal.
Best of all, the DART made flying from Luton so much easier without the need to pay for expensive airport parking. It’s a brilliant alternative that saves both time and money, especially if you’re coming in by train.
Overall, a modern, reliable, and well-designed service that genuinely improves the airport experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to use it again—highly recommended!

In the evening it doesn’t sync with the train times to London so you’ll miss your train by just a few mins and have to wait 30mins for the next one. They could easily could have made this work

Impossible to buy tickets. Frustrating site experience

Website is useless and you cannot purchase a ticket on it, despite numerous "Buy Tickets" links.

The Luton Airport Express website must be, if not the most infuriatingly useless, certainly in the top 10. It's proved impossible to buy a ticket, despite numerous supposed links entitled "buy a ticket" - if only a zero stars rating was available.

The whole system seems to be designed to extort money out of customers. Why do the barriers allow you to tap in and out then charge you the max fare. Raised a complaint and each person I was dealing with passed the book. Terrible experience and whoever is managing is needs to buck up

Airport seems to get better each time I travel

I have never used the Luton Airport express however I’ve been visually an auditor-ally assaulted by your aneurism inducing television advert.

Luton Airport - Drop Off area. Absolute chaos! £5 for less than 5 minutes to use the crowded chaotic drop off area! And then £1 per minute extra that you stay after 5 minutes and you can't pay until next days you will get the fine of £25 Barriers is better!

Train delayed by 25 minutes, not reliable, wouldn't use again for this reason

Awful experience. Not only were trains delayed (which seems typical for Luton airport bound…beware…) the scheduled train didn’t leave from the EMR platform, information was chaotic and was running to and fro from platforms on conflicting advice. Managed to get a later train, just in time, but the whole thing was too stressful and confused (getting the Dart itself was ok). Going to Stansted w/express much more professional and certain in comparison and cheaper, even though it’s a longer journey…travelling via Luton airport remains a fraught option to avoid if possible.

Great service

Quick and easy the only thing I would say is I think there should be better pricing and it’s a shame that the timings don’t start a little bit earlier and especially later when arriving into Luton late on the more commercial airlines like easyJet and whizz

Terrible service , Only one person working, very slow and staff not really helpful.

Everything went smooth and quick. Recommend.
