I mean it’s alright

Meat was very good. Ironically the fish (a water animal) was dry. The veg had no flavour.

Wouldn’t recommend

Food arrived two days later than ordered which defeats the purpose for a meal prep service so immediately I’d decided I wouldn’t use again. Also the meals themselves weren’t great at all

Dreadful customer service

Dreadful customer service. My order never arrived, I made several attempts to get in contact with them but they never responded or got back to me. I feel scammed. Truly awful experience with this company.

Good just bad execution :-(

The idea is great and I've been trying to use them for the last month with mixed results. 25% right 75% wrong so far.

The first order came in fine and on time. The food was what I expected good and simple, easy to microwave 3-4 mins and easy to store.

In the next few orders, the wheels have come off. They haven't arrived, or a week or so later something has arrived but is wrong.

What is annoying is the website chat bot/client isn't useful and just diverts you to an e-mail, which response sometimes. What is a real problem is there is never any explanation of why things aren't working or who / if it will be fixed.

I had hoped to use this service but I need something reliable and this, for now, hasn't been.

The website is simple but works well for setting up your subscription or single order. You can't amend your subscription though and need to cancel it to make any changes e.g. remove anything you don't want next time. you have to cancel it. something to change.

I can't give a better rating for this as there have so far been too many failures to provide the service/food on time or even at all. I've not had to cancel some future subscriptions and I need to understand where this is up to still :-(.

I will monitor other reviews to see if things improve or look at other options from different services. Shame as this has some promise, but the basics need addressing.

The worst service

The food is okay, but the service is absolutely disgusting. I've been ordering these for about 5-6 weeks. In that time, they sent me wrong food twice (once sending me someone else's order, with someone else's name on it). At least on both these occasions they corrected their error.
However, this week the order did not arrive on the agreed upon day and they only informed at 5PM that it is not going to arrive! I had to call their office and both times they told me they are going to call me back and they did not. They charge £6 for the delivery by the way. I don't even know if my food is safe to eat because they could not tell me if they dispatched it on Monday or on Tuesday.
Absolutely useless, should have known better given their terrible website and spelling errors everywhere.
By the way most of their 5 star reviews are obvious stat padding by fake users. Disgusting crooks. Never again.

food hasn't arrived

food hasn't arrived
got an email yesterday that it will arrive today
so i didn't prepare no work for lunch
dpd driver usual arrives between 11-13:00
at 11:30 I got an email RE an update to my order - there was no info in the email other than a link to track my order
on the dpd tracking, it just says "customer data received", i assumed the parcel wasn't dispatched but i wanted to confirm so i know whether to get food for my lunch elsewhere for today...

go on livechat, explain the situation, they cant help as they cant track orders

so i was advised to call, i call at 12:30 and explain the above situation and added that my lunch break ends at 13:00... so i need to know if the delivery is coming or if i should pop out and get food... she said she couldnt help but shell take my name and number and assured me ill get a call before 1pm...

12:55, still no call, so i call up again, this person is the 3rd person ive contacted, but guess what, they also cant track parcels, so i asked to make a complaint, and she also cant take complaints - so im insure why she was answering the phone when she couldnt do 2 simple customer service quieres. She too assured me someone will call me ASAP... no call at all

its very easy to speak to someone at macro meals unlike their competitors (im a fussy eater so ive shopped around)... but they cant help with basic questions like tracking a parcel or filing a complaint.

Paid £75 for a order that never arrived - customer support don't care.

Recently signed up with macro meals on a weekly subscription. The first week went fine, the following 2 weeks I had a 1 day late delivery (Not a big deal except now the order was sat outside my house all day till there was someone home) on the 4th week my order never arrived but they had still taken the £75 payment. After 3 emails and multiple attempts to resolve this over the phone, I'm still without a refund two weeks later and their customer support has taken my order number and promised to get back to me everytime I rang but clearly can't be bothered.

The customer service is rather lacking


The customer service is rather lacking with this company. They offered me a gesture of goodwill via email however this was never dispatched and when I enquired so I can plan my weekly meals there is no reply although I have requested for a call back and have sent multiple emails (with read receipts). Quality of the food and portion sizes are ok, but it has a complicated ordering platform. Given the variety of ready meal companies available at the same price, I am not impressed.

Great for vegetarian/vegan diets

I've tried 3 out of the 5 meals and they've all been delicious. Portions are so much bigger than you'd think, the tubs do seem quite small when you look at them but they are packed full and when put on a plate it's more than enough food. Highly recommend, it is a bit pricier than other meal prep places but they have really good options for vegetarians and vegans, and the customisation available is great too.

Once bitten, twice shy

If you scroll down slightly, you’ll see my original review. That too was a 1 star review. In my foolishness, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and order again. Stupid me!

Again, I selected everything I wanted in my meals. I’m veggie so chose predominantly Quorn. I did the same in my previous order but was given all sausages. This time round, apart from two meals, I received all sausages. Again. Now, the sausages in my first order were actually really good. Not what I selected, but good all the same. This time it’s some squash and sweet potato sausages which are rank. Not happy at all.

I also paid £14.50 for some chocolate and peanut butter overnight oats. I had them first time round and they were really good. However, they were completely missing from my order with no explanation. I have used the online chat service and a ticket has been raised, but I’ve not heard a peep from anyone.

I received an email from Tom last week offering a partial refund of my first order. Why partial when the whole thing was incorrect? I replied asking for an explanation as to why I received the wrong order. No reply.

I have serious concerns about their kitchen staff and their ability to check orders received and check orders going out. Who quality checks the orders before they leave? If someone had checked my order against what was packed up for me, they’d see the glaring inaccuracies. I’m beyond disappointed at this point, both with myself for ordering again and Macro Meals UK for messing up yet another order.

I will NOT be recommending them to anyone and will encourage people to actively avoid them. It’s a shame as the meals are good, but the business and people running it are just appalling.
