Having previously worked with Nicola in our house it was an easy decision to contact her again when getting more work done. Having decided to do so, we decided to make the most of her skills and paint and decorate four rooms plus a small hall. The transformation in our rooms and the quality of the work is first rate. The guidance in advance of the job really pays off when you see the finishes, and for us it feels like a new home again. Delighted with Nicola's work and would recommend her to anyone.

All these reviews about Nicola are true! She has just finished working on my new home - four rooms and a hall - and it's been a great experience.
She repaired and painted the huge Victorian walls and dealt with very challenging surfaces in the kitchen. Nothing scared her; she had a solution for every problem.
The flat was beautiful but really dark when I moved in last summer; it needed a lot of TLC.
Nicola has transformed it into a warm lively home that everyone is enjoying visiting.
It was a total pleasure having Nicola around. She's enthusiastic, knowledgeable, dedicated and happy in her work.
When it comes to painting the bathroom it'll be Nicola that I call!

Nicola is a fabulous, meticulous painter, with a brilliant and fresh eye for colour. She was a very welcome presence in our home, bringing a gentle, friendly calm, and her care and attention to detail extended to how well she protected everything as she worked. I recently hired Nicola to paint and wallpaper my daughter’s room, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Nicola’s attention to detail is exceptional. She carefully prepped the walls, sanding them to perfection before starting, ensuring a flawless finish.

Nicola / McGhee & Daughters did a fantastic job painting our hallway, she tackled the high ceilings, cornicing and addressed the many cracks in the plasterwork to give us a beatiful finish and we are very grateful! Nicola is professional, knowledgeable and was a pleasure to have in our home. I would certainly recommend her to others.

Nicola has done a brilliant job for us. We had a couple of rooms, including feature walls, and a very complicated hall (9 doors!) painted by Nicola. From first contact, she has been communicative and responsive to all our questions and requests. Her prep is exemplary and everything was left tidy and clean at the end of every day. She has been an absolute joy to work with and have in our home. Would not hesitate to recommend her. Her precision and attention to detail was wonderful and the finished job is just a joy.

I read all of the reviews before getting a quote from Nicola. Every 5-star review is bang on accurate. Nicola really got to grips with what we wanted and delivered it - exceeding our expectations. Her attention to detail is fantastic, and she just got her head down and worked from she arrived until she left (creating and leaving no mess). My bill was only £9.00 higher than the quote, and the price was extremely fair. I highly recommend Nicola at McGhee and Daughters!

Nicola was absolutely great to work with, flexible, reliable and communicated clearly throughout. She was friendly, professional, and made an excellent job of tidying up and repainting two of the rooms in my flat. I cannot express how much I would recommend Nicola and her work. I had 4 rooms in a 6 room flat redecorated by Nicola. She came when she said she world and I felt that everyday was a clear discussion and conversation about what would happen. She did exactly what she said she would in the quote and any changes were clearly communicated. As a female living alone it’s really important that I feel safe whilst work is being done in my home. Nicola was so lovely and accommodating to me and me cat and the whole process was so smooth. As a female living alone it made such a difference to hear Nicola giggling to a podcast rather than the usual situation of loud radio and conversation/swearing when work is being done. I felt safe and comfortable in my home the whole time, it felt like having a friend in my house and I would definitely use her again. In fact I’ll miss her on monday when she doesn’t need to come

Everything Nicola did to carry out the job was outstanding. From being transparent and straightforward at the beginning with estimates and timescales; to throughly prepping and being super considerate about protecting floors; to the ultra professional finish. Nicola is trustworthy and reliable with fantastic attention the detail. She transformed two bedrooms with dodgy walls and a bathroom. Highly recommended.

Nicola was the ultimate professional. From the first enquiry: she is highly organised, reliable and has great communication skills. She kept us informed throughout the process and was realistic about when she could do the job. Luckily we got it moved forward and the job was completed as advised. She prepped and painted two bedrooms, the kitchen and the snug. She had to deal with high ceilings and nothing phased her. We were extremely pleased with the finish and would be keen to get her back in the future. We would happily recommend McGhee & Daughters.

Nicola did an absolutely amazing job decorating our entire flat, including the walls, ceilings and woodwork in every room (2 x bedroom, ensuite, bathroom, hall and living room/kitchen). Nicola was reliable, communicative, tidy, professional and very friendly! I appreciated her advice regarding some aspects of the decorating and could tell that she really enjoys and cares about her work. For a tricky boiler flue cavity that needed extensive plastering, she arranged for a plasterer (Clare) to come and sort this, with no extra admin on our part, which was much appreciated. Clare was also very professional and friendly and it was great to see the girl power in action with these two lovely ladies. Myself and my husband are over the moon with the finished job; our flat looks stunning and we would absolutely recommend Nicola if you are looking to get some decorating done - so no need to read any more reviews, you've found who you need right here!

Nicola was great! She was very thorough and the end result was fantastic - our kitchen and hall look brand new! She was very professional and made sure everything was tidy at the end of each day. Would definitely recommend!

Nicola made an absolutely lovely job on our hallway and bedroom. She was very thorough in her prep and sanding of walls before painting started which means that the walls look amazing - and even better now that the lovely paint is on the wall! We’re delighted and she’s also thoroughly lovely as a person which is also a bonus!

Nicola did a great job with my two feature walls - communication was quick and clear and she was very quick with the painting. The paint colour was exactly as the sample I had - couldn't have asked for anyone better for the job.

Nicola recently decorated two bedrooms in our home and she was a dream from start to finish! Her excellent eye for design was so helpful when choosing paint colours and brands (her enthusiasm encouraged me to make some bolder design choices and I'm very glad of it!) and she was so patient and respectful of my specific requests for the materials used in my toddler's bedroom. Nicola kept us updated and involved throughout, and responded calmly and professionally to any unexpected challenges that arose. She works in a meticulous, efficient, unobtrusive way which meant the work fitted seamlessly around busy family life. It was also immediately obvious that Nicola loves what she does. I will be singing Nicola's praises from the rooftops and she's the only decorator I'll be using in the future. Thank you!

After getting a quote from a decorator who then gave thin excuses and never turned up, it was a dream to find Nicola, who was reliable in everything she did. We have a Victorian town house, and Nicola painted the bathroom and kitchen to a very high standard. She was great at making sure we were happy with the colour and type of paint for each part of the job. She kept in touch throughout the planning stages, was punctual, tidy and pleasant to have around while doing the job, and provided thorough follow up . We highly recommend her to everyone.

Nicola painted our tenement flat, both walls & woodwork, with great attention to detail and efficiency. Her quote was competitive and accurate in both cost and time, and she stuck to the agreed schedule. Communication was excellent throughout the process as we discussed colour and finish options, and we were very happy with the final result. She also did a great job repairing little bits here & there and made it look like new again, ready for us to move in.
