Extremely Poor Experience With Meydan Free Zone – Avoid

My experience with Meydan Free Zone has been extremely disappointing. For something positioned and priced as a premium Dubai free zone service, the actual level of customer service, communication and efficiency has been nowhere near what I expected.

The fees are ridiculously expensive, yet the service simply does not reflect the amount you are paying. You expect that when you pay premium prices, basic processes will be handled efficiently and you will have access to people who take ownership of problems. Instead, I have experienced delays, repeated chasing and generic responses telling me that the team is “working on it”, without actually getting matters resolved.

What makes it particularly frustrating is that these are not insignificant fees. Businesses rely on licences and company documentation being processed promptly. Delays can affect banking, contracts, payments and the ability to operate normally. Customers should not have to repeatedly chase a company they have already paid substantial amounts of money to.

I also find the overall pricing structure extremely poor value for money. There seem to be significant charges at every stage, and when the service itself is slow or unresponsive, it leaves you seriously questioning what exactly you are paying such high fees for.

I would strongly recommend that anyone considering setting up or renewing a company through Meydan researches alternative UAE free zones first and compares the total cost, including renewals, amendments, visas and other ongoing charges — not simply the headline incorporation price.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Meydan Free Zone. Expensive, frustrating and far below the standard of service I expected.

Meydan needs to seriously improve its customer service, accountability and processing times if it wants to justify charging premium prices.

My experience with Meydan FZ has been extremely disappointing. I encountered misleading information, inconsistent processes, unnecessary delays, and, unfortunately, rude and unprofessional customer service.

I had to visit Meydan FZ several times, and each visit was worse than the previous one. During my first visit, the staff member assigned to assist us appeared completely uninterested and was barely willing to engage with us.

On my second visit, while walking through the corridor, I was using my phone to complete the UAE Pass photo verification process. The receptionist spoke to me in a very rude manner and insisted that I was recording, even after I politely explained that I was not recording and showed her that I was simply completing the photo verification required for my renewal.

What was particularly frustrating was the lack of consistency in the information provided. When I initially established the business, I was told that I would be able to conduct business in the mainland after obtaining the required approval. However, after setting everything up, I was later informed that such approvals were no longer being issued. This should have been communicated clearly from the beginning.

Every time I visited, I seemed to encounter a different person, and each person provided a different explanation or version of the process. There was no clear, consistent communication, which made the entire experience unnecessarily frustrating.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend doing thorough research before choosing a free zone. In hindsight, I would rather spend a little more and obtain a mainland trade licence than go through the uncertainty, delays, and inconsistent information I experienced here.

Overall, a very disappointing experience and, unfortunately, not a place I would recommend based on my personal experience.

I wanted to change the channel partner in my company who was an agent initially helping me to register company in Meydan.

I simply emailed the support that I want to deal with them directly instead of maintaining my company through an agent. They responded with templated text:

"Greetings from Meydan Free Zone!

Kindly note that we highly recommend continuing through your Channel Partner, as they are fully equipped to handle your requirements efficiently and can provide dedicated support, faster coordination, and end-to-end assistance throughout the process. We truly appreciate your understanding and encourage you to proceed with them to avoid any further delays.

We will notify them regarding the same."

And since then they would reply to all my emails for over a month with the same template. No explanations, no attempt to understand the nature of the issue that I have and zero competence and professionalism of course. Even when my channel partner filed a non objection letter they would still reply to my emails with the same template.

I had an excellent experience with Meydan Free Zone. Prashant guided me through the entire company setup process with professionalism, patience, and clear communication. He was always available to answer my questions, kept me updated at every stage, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free.

What impressed me even more was that his support didn’t stop after the company was established. He continued to help with post-setup queries and provided valuable guidance whenever I needed assistance. It’s great to work with someone who genuinely cares about their clients.

I highly recommend Meydan Free Zone, especially Prashant, to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient business setup partner in the UAE.

I have mixed feelings about my experience with Meydan Free Zone.
On the positive side, their initial support is very good. If you are new to Dubai and the UAE and don’t know how things work, they genuinely help you navigate the setup process. However, a major downside is that the staff seem to work in strict silos—everyone only knows their specific department, and there is no proactive "further advice" on crucial regulations or compliance steps you need to follow.
This lack of comprehensive guidance led to a massive issue for us. We were hit with a late payment fee of over 10,000 AED because we were completely unaware of a specific requirement. When we reached out to get clarity or resolve this, the feedback and support from the staff was basically 0.0. Leaving clients completely in the dark about critical financial penalties is unacceptable.
Good for basic setup, but be extremely careful and do your own research on hidden rules, as they will not warn you.

EDIT AFTER THEIR REPLY ON TRUSTPILOT: Trust me, I’ve tried every available option. The regular support team operates under very limited scopes because they lack comprehensive, cross-functional training. You can spend a lot of time talking to them, but each representative only knows their specific area. There is virtually no one who can provide a new business owner with a complete, well-rounded overview. They don't even offer a basic checklist of essential requirements, the do's and dont's. The actual process is far more complex than what their customer service training covers.
