My hike to Machu Picchu on the Salkantay Trek with my adult son in the Spring 2019 was the most amazing trip of my Life. The care and concern of everyone at Mountain Lodges of Peru was authentic and heartfelt. Our guides were superb: knowledgeable, kind, compassionate. The experience ended up being much more than a physical adventure. Because of the attention to detail, the warmhearted consideration and the kindness of everyone involved - as well as, the power and energy of the place, this trip moved well beyond the physical realm to that of the spiritual, almost immediately. The level of support we felt throughout the entire trek was beyond our wildest expectations!!! What can I say? but to note that it was Sheer Bliss in Action every JOYFUL step of the way. Gracias!!!

Was an incredible way to see Peru and such a personalized experience. Every hike, meal, accommodation, and place we visited was excellent and our tour guide and driver made the process so smooth and enjoyable. I couldn't recommend this group higher.

There are many ways to visit the Peruvian Andes and Machu Picchu, at a wide variety of price points. MLP leans towards the higher end, but they do offer very good service and program. Our Lares 5-day trip was very enjoyable all around. Bruno, our guide was excellent--the two of us had our own guide and van while we shared a few activities and dinners with another group of 5. Because of the nature of this program and the fact that we're basically on a private tour, we had a lot of flexibility which was terrific.
Even if you are not a regular hiker, Lares 5-days is highly doable. Do your homework about altitude sickness and bring sufficient supply of medication. Take it slow, stay hydrated, don't overextend yourself, and most likely you'll be fine. MLP really takes care of their clients, and the trip is all inclusive besides guide & driver tips. Would definitely recommend!

Embora a lingua oficial fosse espanhol e ingles quem nos recepcionou, cujo nome não lembro, recusava-se a falar espanhol ou portugues. Notar que no grupo só haviam 2 ou 3 norte americanos e o restante eram brasileiros. Este senhor, que parecia ser o coordenador, tambem não era muito acessivel e mesmo quando tinha alguem com dificuldade na caminhada por conta da altura mostrava-se impaciente e ansioso pela demora.
Ao contrario, o segundo guia que por vezes nos acompanhava era muito solicito e simpatico.

though the official language was Spanish and English, the person who welcomed us, whose name I don't remember, refused to speak Spanish or Portuguese. Note that in the group there were only 2 or 3 North Americans and the rest were Brazilian. This man, who seemed to be the coordinator, was also not very accessible and even when he had someone with difficulty walking due to the height, he was impatient and anxious about the delay.
On the contrary, the second guide who sometimes accompanied us was very helpful and friendly.

Trip likely to be cancelled due to Covid 19 as Peru has shut his borders.
Montain lodges of Peru decides to keep our cash, trip paid 100% in advance.
A solution is offered for rescheduling. That's better than nothing, but a refund would be more appropriate in the sense that no expense have yet occured. This is what are doing airlines and most travel industry.
Hope Mountain lodges of Peru will revisit this policy and give option for full refund under these unusal circumstances.

Salir y llegar a los hostales, después de las caminatas que son tan, pero tan lindas es un placer increíble, llegar a los hostales.
La atencion del personal que son tan acogedores, la comida deliciosa, los cuartos comodisimos y el servicio de lujo!!!
El reto personal que uno logra atravesando la montaña, llegar a un camino Inka, es algo que nunca voy a olvidar.

MLP trip was one of the best trips I have taken and I have traveled quite a bit. The service was first class, from lodges, to food , to guides and experiences. Everyday was another adventure. Every need was taken care of. This is a top tour outfitter. If you are an adventurous and active traveler you will love this trip. I was amazed at the beauty of Peru and learned so much about the culture . My only complaint was I didn’t book a longer trip ! I highly recommend MLP.

Everything was above and beyond what we had imagined. It was by far a trip of a life time. The lodges were very clean and very comfortable, and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone.

We had a fantastic guide and enjoyed the tour immensely. The treks were not too difficult and there were options if you had enough walking for the day. I would highly recommend this company.

This tour and organization greatly exceeded my expectations. The accommodations and locations were amazing. The food was fantastic and I can’t say enough about how well the three tour guides treated each and every one of us. They made the trip for us.

Thank you for a terrific trek. Even though our course was changed due to the landslide on the Salkantay track MLP set up a great alternative. Our guides, Fernando and Saul were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

We enjoyed the trip very much. All of the lodges were very comfortable and beautiful. The hikes were challenging for us (not super fit) but do-able. Henry, our guide, was so patient and eager to share his country and knowledge. We ate well and had clean, comfortable places to sleep.
