Mountain Lodges of Peru gave us a fabulous guided hiking tour in the Lares Valley and at Machu Picchu. I actually enjoyed the Lares Valley Hiking the most, as our guides took us on hiking trails that were manageable and where we saw almost no other people except occasionally the MLP group on the 7 day tour (we were on the 5 day tour). Scenery was fantastic. Guides were incredibly knowledgeable, fun, personable, entertaining, and all around very enjoyable. The lodges were also incredible. Small, intimate, local food, comfortable, lots of amenities, loved the lodges. Beware of religious holidays in small villages however, as one lodge was in a village that had amplified music going until 2 or 3 a.m. making it impossible to sleep. The hotel in Aguas Calientes was also really special and top notch. We give MLP the highest recommendation with no hesitations at all. Thank you for making a fabulous vacation.

Absolutely we could not have chosen a better company for our trip. The most knowledgeable, educational first rate guides who treat each person individually based on their ability. Cannot say enough about Juan, Karla and staff. Superb. First rate eco style accommodations. As difficult as the trek sometimes was I find myself thinking about it over and over and wish to do it again. Magnificent geography, great guides and food and the opportunity to get down into real Peruvian culture make Mountain Lodges of Peru the best. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime

We traveled as a family vacation over Christmas when many of their employees were on vacation so maybe the service is better when more guides and staff are available. We were very disappointed in our guide, who wasn’t very knowledgeable and didn’t speak english very well. We paid about $60,000 including airfare for our family trip yet we (the parents) were consistently given the crummiest room every single night. Even after bringing it up to our guide, nothing was done. Management was not particularly accommodating either. We also noticed that the guides were given bigger portions at meals than we were at the lodges, which particularly upset my fiance. They do an excellent job of keeping you off the beaten track, which makes it worth booking with them, as long as you don’t expect the level of service normally provided by a luxury travel company.

They were great in every way. Our trip was amazing and we no doubt be a lasting memory of a magical vacation. All we hoped for and more!

Our trip to Peru and Machu Picchu with Mountain Lodges of Peru was a trip of a lifetime. The scenic hikes were amazing and the lodging was five star. The food provided at the lodges was delicious. It was so nice to be pampered after hiking all day. We loved the local excursions where we were able to interact with the people of Peru. Our guide, Fernando, took great care of us. He felt like a member of the family by the end of our trip. Friends of ours recommended this trip to us and we are so glad we went!

your outfit did a great job from all aspects of our trip - a well organized schedule; excellent lodges w friendly staff, tasty food and beverages; knowledgeable guide who provided us w historical/fauna and flora; cultural information plus a wonderful personality. a wonderful trip!!!!

Fantastic experience

We've had amazing 7 days at Salkantay trek. Wonderful guides (Fernando and Saul), friendly coleagues, beautiful views and paths... Perfect!!!

The trip was fabulous. Accommodations were excellent. We stayed in MLoP lodges which were more luxurious than expected and which our group had all to itself. Food was delicious and, as a pescatarian, there were always non-meat options available. One complaint I have is that for the visit to Machu Picchu we had only one guide and guests were encouraged to climb Huayna Picchu even though several in the group probably would not have done so had there been a second guide to enable them to spend more time at the main site at Machu Picchu. Otherwise guides were friendly, informative and attentive to our needs.

One suggestion is to extend trip to two nights in Aguas Calientes or a second night at Ollantaytambo instead of having a full day at Machu Picchu, traveling by train back to Ollantaytambo and then by bus to Cuzco to arrive back late at night where tour was suddenly at an end.

We had a great trip with Mountain Lodges of Peru. The written materials were helpful (although could have been a bit better-organized and consistent, and it would have been better to get more of them in advance). High praise for everything else: great guides, excellent food and lodging, and an overall wonderful lifetime experience.

There were some start up issues at two of the lodges which should have been handled better but our guides Fernando and Saul made perfect adjustments all the way through the trek starting with the mudslide which closed Salkantay pass. Incredible guides!!!

Fantastic places to stay and rest after hiking, great staff, great food, no complaints

This trip was profound for me. Physically, emotionally and spiritually. Everything about the lodges is wonderful, the people, the views, the architecture, the food.
The only 'complaint' would be the bidet water pressure is way too high (ouch)

Guides, accommodations, and food were outstanding. Guides provided excellent educational and an exhilarating hiking experiences. Hiker safety was always first and foremost and the guides did a great job accommodating the various hiking abilities and experiences of the whole group. Would definitely recommend.

Our guides were real professionals and we didn't miss a single detail nature, cultural and historical wise.
I strongly recommend Mountain Lodges of Perù to everyone who seeks an unforgettable trip to Perù.

Very nice trip, good tracks, nice food, the only thing that I tought was out of place was the chief guide. He was not very friendly and didn’t bother to explain anything to the group. It seemed that he was doing us a favor to be there. On the other hand the assistant guide was very nice.

This was a great experience and cannot encourage enough anyone looking to do this! This was one of the best experiences my wife and I have ever had. Truly and unforgettable time that you won regret!

This was such a great tour and the guides were unbelievable. I would recommend them to everyone.

The lodging was exceptional, as was the food. The “4” rating is due to our guide. He had some problems w boundaries.
