Samsung S21 sent in after being offered £240 when buying a new phone from Mobile Phones Direct. Offer adjusted by MTR to £100 for an apparent bleed in the lcd. Phone was in perfect condition when it was packaged and sent in original box. Have rejected the new offer for the phone so now worrying what condition it will be returned in. Very difficult to get in contact with MTR through their 0844 number.

Wish I saw these reviews before sending off my phone. They will try to claim your phone is faulty when its actually not, just so they can give you a lot less money.
They (or samsung recycle) offered me £315 for my phone before sending it in, then knocked it down to £100 after I sent it in claiming it was faulty - that the back cover was lifted. I knew for a fact it was not before I sent it in - in fact my phone was in near perfect condition. They sent me a photo of another phone of the same model showing the back cover lifted slightly on the top claiming it was my phone, it was so obvious they were showing me a photo of another phone trying to claim it was my phone, there was even a dent on the phone in the photo they sent me, which I knew my phone did not have, (so they clearly just hope you are stupid and don't notice these obvious differences and will accept their fraudulent offer).

Naturally I refused their offer and they returned my phone, which they returned in another box, which was not the original box I sent it in. So naturally I checked the phone when I received it back (Which was the original phone I sent in thankfully) and compared it to the photo they sent me claiming "back cover lifted", and just like when I sent it in- my cover seams were in perfect alignment, with no issues.
These guys work as part of "samsung recycle" so beware of using samsung recycle they may send your phone off to MTR - which I am guessing is one of samsung recycles partners.

Made me a great offer for my phone (£360) which I always kept in a case and had screen protectors on so thought I was on to a winner, how wrong was I! £70 I was offered for my 256gb Samsung Z Flip 3, wish I saw the reviews first. Only used these because of a recommendation from Very.co.uk. Not happy.

Complete scam. Sent them a perfect condition Nintendo switch for an offer of £140. They emailed me to say it was faulty and offered me £10 for it. They gave a deadline to reply via a link otherwise the £10 offer would be accepted. I tried to decline via link multiple times but it kept failing. I tried to call and got through but lo and behold was hung up on. When I eventually got through they told me the controllers were faulty (complete lie). I asked for evidence and they refused. I was hung up on again. Eventually my console was sent back to me. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Total scam avoid at all costs. Managed to sell on ebay for £190 so thanks for the refusal MTR!

Shockingly bad company!!! I upgraded my phone with the Samsung trade in offer at Samsung.com totally unaware that Samsung have partnered with mtr group to handle the trade in devices.6 weeks after mtr group received my old device I received an email saying that my old phone had screen burn and I had to pay a £75 surcharge.this is totally not true my old phone was in good condition and definitely did not have screen burn.mtr customer service was rude and unhelpful they were only interested in trying to scam £75 from me.after numerous calls and emails to samsumg customer care samsumg eventually decided to waive the £75 surcharge.really bad experience and shame on samsung for partnering with this criminal mtr company.

my mobile was sent there for repair, still waiting for any update from them, and can't get through to speak to anyone. Even Samsung has called them up several times and they can't get through. I'm trying to contact them and just nothing, despite my package being sent by DPD by Samsung and tracked

This company is a scam. I’ve sent two devices only received money for one. They didn’t bother to reply to my emails. I’m really disappointed !!Please be aware especially if you are sending something expensive.

Used this service to recycle my old phone. Excellent service. Price they quoted is what I got. 10/10.

This bogus scam of a company is used by Samsung to ‘trade in’ your phone when buying a new one. I sent in my in perfect condition flip 3 when I purchased the flip 4 in august. As soon as I recieved my pre order flip 4, I promptly sent off my flip 3. 2 WEEKS after receiving, MTR sent me an email saying there was a blob on the screen (lcd bleed) accompanied with a very low res image that showed absolutely NOTHING! Asking me to pay £150!!! I asked them for a higher res image 3 times via email, no response other than ‘it’s in your terms and conditions of trade’ robotic responses, completely ignoring my requests and comments. I KNOW that phone was in perfect condition when it left my home. So after phoning Samsung direct, providing them with the ‘photo’ they sent me, Samsung agreed they couldn’t see anything. They opened a case and told me they would get back to me in 48 hrs. Another 2 weeks later - still heard nothing from either party. yesterday I received an email saying my trade in was now complete (no mention of charges).. it just shows that MTR group will try anything on to get money out of unsuspecting consumers. I therefore recommend (as I will be doing in the future) before sending anything off for trade in, take numerous photos of your phone as evidence. You can clearly see by the reviews, this has happened to a LOT of Samsung customers. Proceed with caution with this scam company.

Used Samsung trade in offer to trade my old broken Samsung Galaxy S7 phone and got £150 within 3 hours of them receiving my phone.

Well I read lots of people having issues but I didn't have any issues because my phone was already broken and Samsung offer said I could trade any broken phone and get £150. For which I am happy.

Terrible company. I had to return a faulty Samsung Galaxy S22+. Samsung were dreadful in regards to their own customer services but when I tried to get a refund for my old Galaxy S9+ (worth £80) which I'd traded in MTR tried to reduce the trade in price from £80 to £65 as the whole thing from start to finish took over a month to sort out & they claimed that the cost of the phone was now less than when I traded it. I told them that I wasn't happy with this as it was their fault for taking so long to issue the refund & didn't see why I should lose out because of their incompetence. After complaining on Twitter daily about SamsungUK's appalling customer services MTR finally refunded me the full £80.
As I said Samsung were dreadful, so much so that I will NEVER buy one of their products again, but their use of this dreadful company made the whole thing worse. Avoid Samsung, avoid MDT.

MTR just tried to get £75 from me for a faulty USB port on a Samsung s20 plus phone. Emailed Mtr and told them the Samsung sales guy said as long as as the screen shows now cracks you will recieve the full £290 trade in.
MTR have now come back and said they will waiver the £75.00 fee and take it up with Samsung. My phone does not have a USB Port !!!

Absolutely shocking company! Offered me £77 for a mac book I sent it the and they counter offered 20 cos it was missing a rubber foot off the bottom. Robbery in plain sight.

Absolute rip off company how Samsung have decided to associate themselves with this company is frankly immoral, the previous reviews say so much. They are trying to charge £75.00 to replace a camera cover which is ridiculous the parts are not worth that, I'm going to cancel the upgrade, Apple or any other phone now will never use Samsung again

Same as most other reviews back glass on my Samsung trade was cracked upon arrival and I got charged £25 .couldn't claim off the post office as they only let me know 30 days after the phone arrived at their facility. Even sent me video footage of it being opened.

Like many others who have left reviews I too have had a negative experience with this company using a Samsung Trade In. Several weeks after they received the phone I got an email with a photo telling me I needed to pay £25 because the back cover was cracked. The phone was in immaculate physical condition when I packaged it up and sent it. I asked for a better photo and proof it was the phone I submitted. They did send one with the IMEI number on the back and it was my phone. If the damage was simply a crack I would have put it down to transit damage and would have accepted I needed to pay. However not only was there a crack on the bottom corner there were also lots of scuff marks and scored scratches on the case. That is not transit damage. I have paid the £25 as I didn't think to take photos of the phone before I sent it off and I can't risk my new phone being blocked. So, if you decide to use the Samsung TradeIn do so cautiously and get evidence for yourself of what you have sent. Unfortunately when you submit the trade in it is all done through the Samsung website and the brand name lulled me into a false sense of security

I would have given no stars if I could, I sent off my Samsung s10 that was in immaculate condition always protected ,they had it for over 2 weeks without any emails all I got was 2 texts to say they will soon be contacting me through email so I contacted them to see what was happening and they said that they emailed me to let me know my phone had "screen burn" that seems to be their favourite excuse, and that because I didn't respond they had reduced payment to £80 instead of the £110 that was agreed and it had already been paid ,that was ALL LIES I didn't receive any emails or payment from them ,so now I'm left with no phone or no payment. I'm soo angry that I have been ripped off by complete LIARS they are just cowboys and shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. PLEASE NOONE USE THIS "COMPANY" you will only be conned,I'm just disgusted.

I recieved the "screen burn" email from this company after trading in phone via samsung, stating I have to pay a £75 excess, with a picture with arrows pointing to alleged screen burn which shows nothing !. My phone was in perfect condition it doesn't get a lot of use or abused. I have read so many reviews since with most having the same issue. This is just a money making scam. How they get away with it beggars belief. Trading standards will be notified.

After trading in an immaculate Huawei P20 Pro I was surprised to receive an email with a very indistinct photograph suggesting that the device had damage to the back and requesting a payment to progress.

Looking around there seem to be many complaints about 'fictitious' faults, either the inventory management is poor mixing up devices or this is an attempt to extort payment.

MTR handle Samsung Trade-in's - and are absolutely horrendous to deal with. I would avoid both MTR and Samsung because of my experience.

Having had my new phone for a month I received an email requesting a further £75 to repair the screen, which was perfect when I had sent it off. The repair was for a "faulty pixel" which they sent me a tiny picture that didn't even show a faulty pixel.

Horrendous experience and has put me off Samsung entirely.
