Very long delivery times. When my JCM 800 Amp Sim kit finally arrived, it came with an older pcb version from the documentation (had to trace a number of pads to know what they are for). The kit did not include the six J201 transistors. These are difficult to source and the main reason why I ordered the kit. When I posted a bad review, it does not show on their web. You can see "Ratings(2)" but only one (positive) review appears.

Super schlechter Kundenservice! Eine Antwort auf eine Email zu bekommen ist wie Lotto spielen. Rückabwicklung nicht möglich bisher. Zum Glück gibt es Paypal.Das Rate ich jedem als Zahlungsmethode. Sehr unprofessioneller Laden.

Update: I never received the product.

Orders take an unbelievable length of time, often just sitting in pre-shipment. I had to cancel an order and communication with them required far too much follow up. Some orders I was never provided tracking, despite paying for it and asking through their message service.

I can’t comment on the quality of their product as I’ve yet to receive any orders. They do offer a wide arrange of kits which is a plus.

Just wish their communication was better. Seems like they are overloaded and struggling to keep up. Maybe their service is better within the EU, but I’ve ordered product from other EU kit suppliers and received them much faster.

Hopefully the kits deliver, both physically and in quality.

Great value and selection. Their own kits are amazing if you're just getting into DIY pedals.

Availability of items varies a lot and some items can be out of stock for long periods of time, though.

Le délai de livraison annoncé est très optimiste, pour moi, 15 jours d'attente mais le service client répond assez vite...pour nous dire de patienter. Ceci dit les frais de port sont peu élevés (tarif lettre) et le prix des composants assez compétitif. La valeur des composants et leurs particularités sont écrites sur chaque sachet et composant (!!!) ce qui témoigne du sérieux au regard du nombre d'inscriptions (pour une commande inférieure à 20€). C'était un essai que je renouvellerai probablement.

One of the best company for DIYers. Due to covid crisis some parts have short supply . Anyway highly recommend to anyone.

I ordered 4 times from here, first 3 went good, but the last one I never got. I contacted them and they had sent it again, but that one never came either. if it wasn't for this it would've been a good store for guitar effect parts.

Ordered two AION kits in January - finally had all correct parts in May!
The two kits I ordered required THREE new shipments to be sent. Firstly, the wrong capacitor was included in one kit, another had a faulty switch, while both (BOTH!) had incorrectly drilled enclosures and required replacements. Pretty jaw-droppingly bad attention to detail. During all of this, the customer service replies and reshipping were extremely slow - hence, the four month period in getting everything sorted.
Lastly, as others have said, the quality and suitability of the parts is poor. Both of my kits are extremely cramped and the in and out jacks are far too bulky to position and solder easily and all four are stiff and hard to plug and unplug at speed. Poor quality products. In the end, both pedals seem extremely 'DIY'... but not in the good way! They seem very cheap! I would have no faith in gigging or even moving these away from the bench of my studio. They are really just a failed experiment/paperweights at this point.
In summary, I had great hopes for this company when I first saw their webpage. Sadly, I will not be returning and I would not recommend anyone, friend or foe, to use them. Extremely amateurish and poorly run business. Beware.

Great company, no next day shipping but this is also stated on the website.
My package (electronics parts) was well packed and no parts are missing.

This is a great company, they have some amazing parts for building things like effects pedals or synthesizer modules.

Versand dauert ewig, einige bestellte Teile wurden nicht mitgeliefert, es lag nur ein Zettel im Karton: „Die Teile werden nachgeliefert, da sie momentan nicht auf Lager waren“. Warum wurde mir bei der Bestellung angezeigt das sie Lieferbar sind? Eine Mail hätte es auch getan, dann hätte ich mir warscheinlich andere bestellt. Einfach nervig und null Kundenorientiert.

Die Lieferzeiten sind zu optimistisch angegeben - es dauert etwas länger. Davon abgesehen bin ich insgesamt aber zufrieden: die Lieferungen der Effektbausätze waren alle vollständig und gut sortiert. Besonders loben möchte ich den unkomplizierten und netten Kontakt (Reservieren von Bausätzen, die gerade out-of-stock sind). Ich bestelle wieder!

Ich habe vorletzten Donnerstag ein Fuzz-Kit bestellt, VORletzten!!

Ich als Schüler wollte neben dem ganzen Stress der durch den Onlineunterricht im Moment entsteht mir etwas gönnen und habe mir einen Bausatz gekauft um nebenher ein Projekt zu haben.

Letzte Woche Freitag habe ich dann eine Mail erhalten, Betreff "Ihre Bestellung wurde versandt". Ich war erst mal ganz begeistert, bis ich dann mehr gelesen habe und in der Mail etwas von "Versandetikett erstellt" und "Bestellung wird nun fertig gestellt stand".
Zu früh gefreut.

Seit gestern hat die Sendung den Status "Sendung wurde abgeholt".

Heute ist Mittwoch, morgen sind 2 Wochen vergangen und ich habe mein Paket immer noch nicht.

Außerdem heißt es auf der Website mal, dass die Bestellung voraussichtlich in 7 Werktagen zugestellt wird, mal in 2-3 Werktagen oder auch in 3-5. Einfach nur nervig.

Hätte ich von dem Laden nicht erwartet. Habe letztes Jahr schon einmal dort bestellt, Bestellung war in 3 Tagen da. Was ist passiert?

Fazit: Ich finde den Satz aus einer anderen Bewertung hier super treffend: "Willst du in ein paar Wochen basteln, solltest du gestern bestellt haben." (oder so ähnlich).

Ich werde mir beim nächsten mal genau überlegen, ob ich die Zeit und Nerven habe, da zu bestellen.

The good
I really like Musikding's service. They offer a very unique product in Europe. I can confidently say that if it wasn't for their practical kits and the immense selection of parts I would have not gotten into a hobby that I now love. Price is also great and their customer service is top notch.

Now on the constructive part.
-Very unclear shipping times and communications. I have often gotten communications that my order was shipped only to find out that it hadn't even been processed 10 days later. Why send that notice at all?
-Often I would not get a notice at all and my product would arrive whenever. To my surprise three or four months later I would receive a communication saying "Your order has been shipped". Really? My pedal was finished a month ago.
-Missing parts are rather the norm. You have to carefully review each order.
-Stock of parts is not the best. Rarely I can find everything that I need for one project available.

Once the order ships it arrives fairly quickly, but you don't know when they ship (I've placed two orders and I've never received an email saying the order has shipped, I had to ask if the order has been sent, and for the tracking number, each time). At the time of writing this (Feb 17th), in my account at Musikding I still have an order placed 17.01.2021 (a month ago) that is still in the "Paid" state, although I've received and built it a long time ago. That's not a big problem though, and with the COVID-19 situation might even be understandable.

[EDIT: Just received an "your order has shipped" email for the 17.01 order. Today is 24.03, more than 2 months after the order and almost 2 months after I've actually received it.]

But there's more.

My first order was a Silicon Fuzz Face ("The Face"). The build went fine, but after a few (no more than 20) 3PDT pushes with my hand (no feet, no rough handling!), the tip of the switch just came off (so the top of the switch came apart). I chucked this off to it being a one-off problem and just bought a new 3PDT switch with my new order (I didn't even ask Musikding to replace the switch under warranty).

The second order was for a Rangemaster kit ("The Range") + a Les Lius clone ("The Lius"), plus a new switch (to replace the one in the Fuzz Face), a pair of standoffs and some transistors and small parts.

The Lius kit uses two 3PDT switches and two LEDs, plus an ON-OFF-ON switch, two pots and PCB, all crammed, in Musikding's infinite wisdom, into an 125B enclosure. For this kit I received a regular 3PDT switch and a PCB 3PDT switch (in error). Also, the PCB was supposed to be secured by two adhesive standoffs above the ON-OFF-ON switch, but said switch was too tall (or the standoffs too short), so the PCB was shorting against the switch lugs.

They also forgot to ship part of the order (an extra pair of standoffs).

I've written to Musikding about the issues as soon as I found them (Friday, during business hours). Waited until Monday night (after a full work day) for a reply, any kind of reply. Nothing.

In the early hours of Tuesday, I've posted (with pictures) about the Lius issues on Musikding's forum, asking for advice, then went to sleep. Next morning, the owner (Klaus) replied via email apologizing for the mistake and saying a proper 3PDT switch and taller standoffs will be sent that day. He had also deleted the public forum post.

One week later, I've received the package. It contained the proper regular 3PDT switch, but the standoffs were still the same height as before. I wrote Musikding about this.

I've never received a reply, so I just wired everything in, placed some insulating tape over the switch and just crammed the PCB in at an angle, held by only one standoff, then proceeded to play the pedal.

Lo and behold, after a bit of on-off action with my thumb again (again: no feet involved, gentle pressure), the bypass switch disintegrated as well (tip came off, exactly the same as the Fuzz Face).

I've left reviews on the Musikding website for the kits I've bought a while ago - they are not appearing (UPDATE: a single review appeared, for the Rangemaster, which was 4/5 stars and had no serious complaints). Not sure if my deleted forum post means anything, but reviews below 4 stars are conspicuously rarely seen for any of their kits, and mine certainly did not make their criteria for publishing.

So in summary:

* Their kits could be better planned out (cramped enclosures, the battery will either flap around in too much space with no adhesive foam provided to keep it in place - like the Rangemaster -, or it will need to be placed tightly on the potentiometers). The Les Lius kit is especially hard to make work in their provided enclosure.

* Their default 3PDTs appear to be very low quality. Of my 5 Musikding 3PDT switch installs, 2 have broken tips. That's 40% failure rate.

* The documentation is sparse at best.

* Slow and spotty customer support.

In the end, I think Musikding may have its uses, and certainly with a bit of afterwork the end result can be very good, but you need to be very patient and willing to buy extra parts to end up with something robust enough to use on a gig. They do provide a lot of nice PCBs and have a lot of kits.

Von der Bestellung bis zur Übergabe an den Versand vergehen mindestens 10 Tage. Bisher war keine meiner Bestellungen bei musikding vollständig. Immer fehlten Bauteile. Mal war es eine ganz andere Platine als geordert, mal ein falsches Gehäuse. Nachbestellung, Bearbeitung und Auslieferung dauern dann erneut 7 Tage. Ärgerlich, wenn in der Nachlieferung dann auch wieder Dinge falsch liegen. Bei der Fehlerquote und Bearbeitungs"geschwindigkeit" kann man so schon mal locker einen Monat für ein einfaches Fuzz Pedal einplanen. Wer in ein paar Wochen was basteln will, sollte gestern bestellt haben. Ich suche derzeit aktiv nach anderen Bezugsquellen, ich hab die Schnauze voll!

Meine 2 Bestellungen in dem Shop waren beide leider sehr negativ.

Bei der 1. handelte es sich um einen Verstärkerbausatz. Dieser wurde leider mit einer falschen Trafohalterung verschickt. Es hat dann einige Mails gebraucht um einen Ersatz zu bekommen (es wurde tagelang nicht geantwortet, man musste dann nochmal nachfragen). Insgesamt hat diese Aktion 3 Wochen gedauert. Nach der Zeit hatte ich keine Lust mehr auf den Bau und der Amp steht hier seitdem unfertig rum.

Bestellung #2 war eilig, hatte ich dann auch mitgeteilt und darum gebeten, die Sachen für die Pedale schonmal zu packen bis meine Überweisung in 1-2 Tagen eintrifft und dann sofort zu verschicken. Das wurde mir zugesagt, angeblich war die Bestellung in Bearbeitung. Das war am Mittwoch. Heute ist nun der nächste Dienstag und ich habe weder das Paket erhalten, noch irgendein Update bekommen. Das Pedal, welches mal als Geschenk gedacht war, wird jetzt nicht mehr rechtzeitig fertig werden. Paket ging anscheinend nichtmals raus bis jetzt.

Dort werde ich nicht mehr bestellen. Auf Anfragen wird nicht geantwortet. Ein unglaublich schlechter Service.

They stock some amazing products, and if you're prepared to wait a significant amount of time for them to fix the mistakes with your orders you won't be disappointed. But when more than two thirds of the stuff I've ever ordered has had missing/incorrect components you just have to ask yourself how has this company grow to the size it is? Use this company if you want to make some really cool pedals but be warned you may of to bypass them and source your own components to complete projects.

Bought a kit, asked for additional info on the forums. Received sarcastic replies and no help at all. Do not shop here, they clearly don't care about their customers.

Habe ein Kit gekauft und nach weiteren Infos im Forum gefragt. Ausser sarkastischen Antworten und Beleidigungen bekam ich keine Hilfe. Ich kann diesen Shop absolut nicht empfehlen, der Kundenservice ist nicht vorhanden.

The kit way too long to arrive, and when it did, all the 5 diodes were missing and some of the resistor had the wrong value. Needless to say the build was frustrating.
