I really like how my memory book turned out! As a team we put together a memory book for a co-worker and each team member went directly into the Newlywords link to submit their messages and photos which made it really easy for me to compile the book. The book is high quality, nice bright photos and nice thick paper. thank you so much, this will create a really nice memory for our colleague!

I created a Newlywords photo/memory album for a colleague who was retiring. Gathering photos and messages from a variety of colleagues can be challenges but it was really easy with Newlywords. I appreciated the flexible templates and options. But best of all, it allowed for multiple people to enter their own contribution, while still allowing me to edit. The book was beautiful too. Will definitely use again.

This book was so easy to create and the perfect gift!!! I really loved the ease of using the site and sending invitations to contributors. As the organizer it flowed very easily! My gift was made to celebrate one year of sobriety for my boyfriend and it was a meaningful gift.

We created a memory book for a family member that passed away. It was so nice to have a link that we could text to family and friends that took them directly to the page to input information for the book. We coordinated this for over 30 people and it worked like a charm. The word cloud that pulls words from the entries and creates it automatically was a nice touch. Highly recommended, very easy to use.

The book I made for my husband’s 70th was the best present he had ever received! He was so moved and cried so much he could not continue reading. The photos came out beautiful, better than expected. I had some problems with layout, but the support staff helped me out with that problem.

Perfect collaborative tool for memory books! I used this website and platform to create a memory book for a special birthday for my partner. It was very easy to use and really helps to save time when you want to collect content from a large group of friends and family.

I ordered a printed copy of the book (you can also choose to simply buy the pdf-version without watermark) and the quality was superior. Not cheap, but a memory for life. I was especially happy with the quick delivery to Europe.

I was also in touch with the support team a couple of times and they were very friendly.

I warmly recommend Newlywords. There are some things that the company can still improve in terms of layout options (making it easier to centre text under images, making it easier to fit content to one page when it just spills over with a little bit to a second page) but all in all a very nice experience!!

Newlywords.com helps you organize and create a collaborative memory book. You select the type of entries you’d like to receive (photos, essays, some cute options like top five lists) and enter the emails from people you’re hoping will contribute. Newlywords then sends out requests for entries and reminders etc. as often as you’d like, with personalized messages if you wish. Basically it streamlines the process of collecting the entries: you get emails when people send things in and they’re automatically added to the book. Then you can edit the book for appearance and content and pay to have it printed. Newlywords also lets you generate a pdf to send people.

I used Newlywords to make a book for my husband’s 60th birthday. I found the process pretty easy and so did 90% of the people I asked to contribute (about 10% had problems navigating the process). It was fairly easy to send people reminders and thanks, etc. It was also relatively easy to edit the book pages if you have any experience doing something like a memory book online. If you’ve never done anything like that it could be a bit of a challenge.

My husband is beyond thrilled with the result. He loves the book and it will be a lifetime treasure.

So why 4 not 5 stars? Newlywords could be better in a few ways.

It’s a bit difficult to figure out what your printed book will look like - for instance how big the font will be when printed. Choosing “12” resulted in much larger print, going over many more pages for the essays, than I would have expected. When I got the book, it had everything in the right order etc. On nice glossy pages. I ordered the 12 x 12 book, by the way, and it ran about 100 pages. But it
didn’t really look the way I expected mainly because of the font and I wished I had $160 to throw at editing it and printing it again after making changes.

Which leads me to the other way it could be better: clearly $160 was worth it to me to have this book for my husband, but is it great value for money? Many would say no. If you gathered everything yourself and used an existing memory book website you could probably make something for less money that was more attractive. It would be a lot more work, though. And maybe less fun overall.

The best thing about the process was how well it prompted people to contribute to the book. If you don’t get contributions then you have nothing. Newlywords does simplify that.

So I’d recommend the company, but be aware of its limitations and cost, I guess is the message.
