Contacted Nova Insurance Company today regarding a House Insurance Cover.
Spoke with Jordan Smith who was professional with his knowledge and expertise.
Couldn’t fault the company at all.
Very happy with the quote given plus all documents received by email the same day.

I rang this company with regard to an insurance quote for an unoccupied property. I was dealt with by Jordan Smith who was helpful and professional and answered a few queries I had. He talked me through all my options and kindly emailed me with the details and the quote within a few minute'she then followed this up with a phone call but I was still going through the documents. He said I could ring him back once I had made my decision and I did not feel pressured at any time to make my decision. I will definitely use this company and speak to Jordan Smith again

I wish I'd read the 1 star reviews on here before taking out empty house insurance with Nova Insurance (ref 79245822). I cancelled my policy on 29th January as we'd completed the sale on the house. I am still waiting for the refund of the unused portion of the policy nearly 6 weeks later, even though I was assured this amount would be refunded within 31 days (with no further action from me as they had my bank details on file).

In my opinion that wait is far too long. Nova takes your payment and your contract is with them, so I'm not sure why the excuse for the delay is "that we need to be paid back from the insurer".

As my refund has not been delivered within the promised 31 days, I have since emailed the company twice. I have not received a response to either of those emails, despite the company saying in its Terms and Conditions documentation that "we aim to resolve your complaint within 24 hours of when we receive it".

From reading the reviews on here, it's funny how most refunds are processed within 8 weeks - the wait time before you can complain to the Financial Services Ombudsman.

I'll wait to see how much refund I'll actually receive. In my phone call to the company when taking out the policy I asked about cancellation fees. I was told by the advisor on the telephone that "the cancellation fee is not much, around £5". My policy document tells a different story. "£70 plus any other applicable service charges" whatever they might be. In my mind, this is misrepresentation and false selling.

From my experience, I would strongly advise that you don't use this company, no matter how attractive the initial premium may look.

I received a very quick telephone response to my online query from an extremely helpful agent called Jack Fuller. Jack expertly steered me through the process and was able to provide me with some favourable quotes giving me advice on which one would best suit my needs. An excellent service.

Avoid at all costs. Used them for empty property insurance after my dad died. When we finally sold the house I cancelled immediately. 6 weeks later they haven't refunded. Lame excuses and only now asking for bank details. Holding up winding up the estate. Non existent customer service. Avoid. Your reply says I never supplied the bank details! You never told me I had to until I chased you! You've made it worse not better!

It is difficult to evaluate an insurer until one needs to make a claim of course, but from a sales perspective, Fae Tyler was efficient and helpful and explained everything I needed to help me feel confident about purchasing a policy that was right for me.
