I suggest you don’t buy from OPSM.
I bought, paid for and allowed OPSM to use my NIB contribution for a pair of prescription sunglasses.
I paid up front $1027. + NIB $400 for a pair of sun glasses from OPSM who later rang me to inform me they could not supply the glasses I had purchased. I asked for my money back to which they replied “ that it wasn’t their policy to give refunds”
I pointed out that they had broken our contract by not being able to supply the glasses I had already paid for. They refunded my out of pocket money.
However I also needed my NIB contribution refunded to NIB so I could buy a pair of glasses which I need to drive. I gave OPSM my money and NIB contribution on the 27/5/24, it’s now 5/7/24) and I still haven’t received my NIB contribution refunded to NIB.
I have had a conversation with the manager of OPSM Raymond Terrace NSW who informed me that it has been their policy for 30 plus yrs to take up to 6 weeks to refund the NIB. ( how can that be in a time where thousands of dollars can be sent across the world in minutes) Time to update their policies.
I rang OPSM Costumer Service who did….. nothing!
I spoke to NIB who informed me that it should take days at most to refund the NIB. I’ve spoken to other glass retailers who said that 6 weeks to return NIB refunds is beyond ridiculous!
I’ve put a complaint on OPSM’s review page and even though they talked like something would be done, nothing has been.
My advice would be to steer clear of this company. They are at best outdated in their policies (their policies are prior to computers and online banking) And at worst they don’t care about their customers and want to hang onto money they shouldn’t have for it to make them money.

Absolutely disgusted by the service at OPSM Northcote Plaza! My 82-year-old mother-in-law, a pensioner with Parkinson's and diabetes, was sold an expensive glasses purchase. After realizing the outrageous price,she tried to cancel the order within 2 hours - denied! Promised refund? Lies!
Deceptive Staff & Lies:
Staff ignored her concerns.
Lies about cancellation window & "assured" refund (never happened).
Incompetent staff member blamed manager for lack of knowledge about refund policy!
Unprofessional & Dismissive:
Zero communication - no call back from manager despite requests.
Ignored cancellation request & made the glasses anyway to pressure purchase and non refund.
Treated a vulnerable elderly customer with complete disrespect.
Don't Waste Your Money or Time!
This experience was appalling! Save yourself the frustration and avoid OPSM Northcote Plaza altogether. Take your business elsewhere where they treat customers with respect and honesty!**
Considering Legal Action:
We're filing a complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria. This is unacceptable treatment, especially for a senior citizen!**
Bought glasses at Noosa Civic..
Bought glasses at Noosa Civic and within a week the lens had disappeared due to the screw coming out. It is clearly a manufacturer issue, but instead of getting great care, it was the opposite. They blamed me and made me pay for a new lens. They were not interested in rectifying the issue or taking any responsibility. I will never go through this company again!
Overcharged & would not provide detail on why!!!
This is the first poor review I've ever written, but I am exasperated! I required one lens and no frame. They charged me $920, which is almost the same amount I paid last year for four lenses and two frames. I asked the store three times, and their customer service line twice, for a breakdown of these costs. The store refused. Customer Service agreed on both calls to provide the breakdown but never did. When I went in to pick up the lens, I discovered they had charged me $370 for work on a second lens that was not required. I did not get a refund. I will take up with ACCC.
No returns for contact lenses
Be careful that contact lenses cannot be returned if you make a mistake with the prescription!! Do yourself a favour and buy from Specsavers or Clearly.
Tried to buy glasses online at OPSM
Bought glasses online at OPSM, paid immediately.Received confirmation but a week later received email cancelling my order as frames were out of stock.No offer of another colour or similar. “Should have gone to Specsavers”
Great service at OPSM Southgate
Rebecca was great performing the tests and putting me at ease. She explained things in a way that I could understand.
Jo was fantastic helping me choose a frame, she knew what would suit me and was very honest with her comments.
Terrible employee experience
This company treats it's employees like vassals. No care, no concern. Employees are expendable and exploitable. Do they meet legal requirements? Probably but it would be interesting to put this premise to the test under the new employee well-being laws.
Outstanding customer service.
I would like to acknowledge the outstanding customer service I received at Macquarie Store, The Manager Margaret was extremely helpful, she solved my issue with complete professionalism. I will definitely will only shop at that store.

I wrote a review elsewhere and didn't mention Dr.Samantha. She was very competent and thorough. I felt, like the owner, she had my best interest at heart. They weren't just there to sell you something. They were both very pleasant. After the test Samantha said now comes the hard part.(Choosing the frames). I asked the owner his opinion, knowing that they have a lot of experience and he immediately picked up two pairs of RayBans, reading and driving, that I'd missed and on assessment acknowledged they were perfect. When everything is right you walk away feeling good and it stays with you, and that's how it was.

Beware
After many years of being a loyal customer, I objected to an overcharge and was promptly told stop shouting and go away. I guess I was loud (who isn't when they are being ripped off?) and copped rudeness, so I demanded a refund, got it then ran away - permanently. It is not the business it once was.
Go elsewhere, plenty of other options.
I wish I had read the reviews from before. Have been having eye exams for 20+ years at OPSM and purchased glasses and contact lenses throughout that time.
In the past two years, the service has been so poor. The website is rubbish, glitch and unusable at times. The call centre staff could not give a stuff about my problems and just play handball. I cancelled my subscription 6 days ago, and only today get an email trying to solve the initial issue. Absolutely pathetic customer service, do not bother.

All I can say is that I should of read these reviews before I went to OPSM. The prescription was wrong and the lenses didn't match the prescription..
The frames didn't fit me at all. I went to 2 other OPSM shops for advice,, they said everything was wrong.
I gave the original shop another go, The glasses are below average.. $1000 out of pocket

I bought multifocals top of range glasses from Burleigh waters store very first day when picked them up couldn’t see right when driving so stopped went looked at road signs ect and realised something was wrong they replaced as long distance and reading was in wrong spot why I couldn’t see right got them replaced have been back many numerous times since June when got them 2013 with sane complaints I need a magnifying glass to read also the coating feels like a film in my eye they replaced the coating with purple which are horrible I got my eyes tested again they now say my cataracts are lot worse I had cataracts at time of purchase and was told that they are not bad enough to go on a list to be fixed I am very unhappy with lenses which on half price sal were $840 they are now saying it’s because my cataracts are worse will never use this company again will go back to specsavers half the price and better guarantee will say the lady Vera in the store was very very helpful and understanding but bigger bosses at fault

Poor, pathetic and over pricedI’ve done an eye check up with opsm Macquarie Centre, and had new glasses according to opsm prescription with other retailer as other retailers new glasses were much more affordable than those of opsm. while driving my car with my new opsm prescribed glasses with in 10 min I narrowly missed an accident . Then I realised there’s something wrong with my glasses , and I went back to the retailer, he advised me to have my eye check up again, I was shocked to know that the opsm has prescribed me a wrong prescription . When I went back to opsm at Macquarie Centre, the sales person along with the manager were rude as usual , saying I have purchased the new glasses else where so they can’t take any responsibility. I not only wasted $500 on my opsm prescribed glasses most importantly I missed an accident. Don’t understand people still buying overpriced glasses with opsm along with the rude behaviour of the staff

After 11 years of loyalty, my trust in OPSM has crumbled. The unreliability of contact lens deliveries and constant issues with their partner, Global Express, have left me frustrated. OPSM's refusal to take responsibility and passing the buck has pushed me to say goodbye. Save yourself the hassle – avoid OPSM at all costs.
No care!
Terrible on going experience with a store that just doesn’t understand customer service at all! Had to return unopened recently bought contact lenses as they discovered the lenses were unsuitable for me. Went to Aquire store credit and they refused! Stating L and R had been written on the box and this was why! I didn’t write L and R on the box, they did. And if they did why didn’t they stick a dot on and write on that?
TERRIBLE SERVICE ALL ROUND
I have been purchasing contact lenses from OPSM for just under a year now and there has not been a time where I haven't had an issue. To start with their website runs extremely slow, it is incredibly frustrating when you need to order more lenses or just even check the status of ones you have purchased. My contact lenses get delivered at very infrequent times, sometimes it will take a day and other times it will take weeks. It's impossible to know when you will receive your items. The store I have been in to recently, the woman who served me made me feel like an idiot when all I was trying to do was collect my lenses. I am due to have my eyes tested again soon and I will NOT be returning to OPSM and I suggest that nobody else does.
Easy Returns
I recently ordered some sunglasses online and needed to return them as they didn’t fit as expected. OPSM was by far the easiest company I have ever returned with, I could return the item in the same box and a return label and form was already included - making the whole process quick and easy. A refund was received within a day of them receiving the return.
