OPSM actively upsold resulting in a pair of glasses that are impossible to use in my specific work environment. I had explained these specific needs and they were ignored .
Staff could only suggest that I give the glasses a chance and my brain would adjust. The alternate suggestion was to buy new lenses.

Do not order online from opsm. Website is broken and has so many errors/glitches.
I placed an order online for contact lenses $165 it never showed a screen "thank you for confirming your order" !!!! So I clicked 3 more times to confirm the order. Turns out they charged me 4 times total for the same order total $660! I called to let them know the issue they only sent 1 order not 4 orders but charged me for 4 orders and never refunded. Its been a month and im still chasing. The worst company to buy from !!! It's 2024 and you don't even have your website sorted. What a joke!
Customers beware!
Employees are usually alright but their company policies and sales techniques are borderline scams.
They heavily advertise 50% off and similar discounts but you will never get that on a pair of prescriptions.
If you don't notice they will happily charge you the full retail price of glasses with special lenses only to add on to top the exact cost of prescription lenses so basically stealing money off you.
My glasses cost be 1300 and I cant see to drive or see in the distance and also cant see close up - I tried to tell them but took no notice
They dont listen to you - it cost me alot of money for glasses that are useless to me. Better off with $2 glasses
Aggressive marketing
Why do you think you can spam my phone with messages from a number I can not block. I should not have to txt you I never asked you to spam my phone! Just a heads up will never ever buy from your company while you use this aggressive marketing technique.
Bought 2 pairs of reading glasses
Bought 2 pairs of reading glasses , getting best of everything from Ballina store . Guy was wonderful and helpful , after couple of years could not see through glasses both pairs .blonde lady in store said I have sprayed something on them . I told her that is definitely not the case . Her reply was oh well your r had them for a coupl of years probably time you got new one .😡I went back a month later when the guy was there he told me they are heat affected . Definitely not I wear 1 pair and the others stay at home in their case . I have these other glasses I bought 12 years ago they are a good as the day I bought them from spec savers . He said well their definitely heat affected but because you bought 2 pairs and it’s happened to both I’ll repair 1 pair for you . So I gave him the worst affected pair . My favourite pair . He put details in the computer then tells me I have to pay $40. As they have gone up ?? Oh ok . Still upset I went to the store in Lismore square and showed the 3 ladies their and explained my situation, saying I just want a second opinion, the young lady gave them a thorough inspection and said it was nothing I had done . It is the film on the glasses . And will replace the other pair free of charge . They were so professional and careing at Lismore and didn’t make me out to be a liar . Today whilst at Ballina fair my daughter told me my glasses were crooked , I went to Ballina OPSM and asked if they could please adjust them . The young man was unable to get them straight, so the blonde lady had a go . Said the arm is loose and about to break . Therefore I will need to send them away to be fixed . I asked how much she said she would have to find out . I told her that I ended up taking my glasses to Lismore opsm for a second opinion snd was informed , it was not my fault the glasses went foggy it was the film . The blonde lady virtually told me I was a liar . I said I was disappointed in her reaction she said oh well . I am so angry so upset . How unprofessional. I will never step foot in that store again . My daughter and granddaughter were with me they also were upset at the way I was spoken to .

Can vouch for others who have had issues with the online store. It's slow and broken. "My account" doesn't load. It is hell. Never again.
Hopeless customer service
I have just wasted almost an hour travelling to and from OPSM North Sydney for 9am appointment. The opening hours for this shops start 8.30am as clearly shown ton the door. At 9.10am the receptionist leisurely strolled into the shopping centre, coffee in hand, and slowing began opening up the shop. I explain that I was here for my 9am appointment and she told me the optometrist had called in sick. No attempt made to contact me to advise me of this. The receptionist clearly could not care less .
Cost of glasses from OPSM exorbitant
Cost of glasses from OPSM was quoted at $880. Opposition supplier price was $318 for exactly the same glasses. I have been paying exorbitant price for glasses from OPSM for years. Will not buy from OPSM again.
Went to OPSM Joondalup
Went to OPSM Joondalup to have one of my glasses’ frames adjusted and the other pair’s glasses changed as they were scratched but the women working in there made me feel like I’m wasting their time…i regret having my glasses done there as both occasions (initial consult to now) I’ve experienced nothing but arrogance and indifference…will never go back there again.
Exceptional Service
I was delighted with the first-class service at OPSM Brookside. Sharon conducted my preliminary eye tests expertly and with kindness: I felt safe in her hands. Carmen the Optometrist was exceptional in determining how to address my eye issues. Jodi was so friendly and helped me to choose the right frames. I would also like to acknowledge Jane for her exceptional and generous customer service.
I look forward to returning again in the future, as I know that I will be well looked after. Thank you all for your exceptional customer service.
Website doesn’t work
Website doesn’t work, my login never worked, I was charged x3 times for dailies contacts x90 and never properly refunded, never anyone to properly help me get my refund back. I tried to be supportive and hang there with OPSM but I feel pretty let down by the them in a big way, this final time is the last straw after giving them the benefit of the doubt. I have switched to spec savers for my daily contacts and it was a breeze

This company deserves 0-stars. All issues been portrayed back to the customer.

I visited Wollongong central shopping centre shop. It was terrible in terms of customer care. My husband i are NOT visit this shop again.
Winston Hills Disaster
Had a eye test booking which was very thorough , however i asked twice for my glasses to be adjusted tightened a bit and they took no notice of this customer request. $750 for lenses i wasn't go to pay , that's without glasses / frames. How do they justify this, There is NO care on customer service and the specials 50% off is one pair of glasses no body would be seen with. Overall a bad experience.

Terrible customer service, avoid!
Went into the Garden City Perth WA store with my UK prescription to order a box of contact lens, took my details and was about to order when was told they need to see the box which I didn’t have, said sure its xyz brand, was told by Tara if its wrong it would be very annoying if they had to send them back. Ok, fair enough.
She gave me an email and I took her name so I could email through the details.
Went home, and did this, emailed bounced back, mail box full, tried twice and rang and left message. No call back or response to email.
A few weeks later went in again, with my lens, spoke to Tara again, and explained had emailed twice, ‘oh that bounce back message is automatic, we do receive emails’ i was told as if this was obvious. Oh, ok? But I didn’t get a response!? To which an older blonde lady behind the counter said ‘oh we get so many emails, we can’t answer them all’.
My face dropped at this response. I should have walked out then and there as this clearly shows the level of customer care.
Anyway to cut a long story short, surprisingly they now couldn’t actually help with my contact lens.
Which ultimately I am pleased about and have since ordered via another company.
Reading other reviews, I’m not the first to complain.
OPSM Cheap plastic, insanely exaggerated prices, deception, horrible management, lies...
OPSM sold me eyeglasses with defective Progressive (multifocal) “Polycarb VARILUX X” lenses with all the extras (I was told they are the best they have) Retail Price $1,119.00 (One thousand and two hundred dollars). The lenses developed a yellow tint that worsened badly over time (Most likely bad chemicals), a sign of cheap or low-quality plastic, the coating also failed around the edges and showed as a white ring.
Some months after the warranty expired, I realised that it was a factory fault which was present during the warranty period and they agreed to replace them, but they replaced them about 2 weeks ago with worse lenses, also VARILUX X, that are always tinted dark indoors even at night and are not aligned properly; I can’t use them at all indoors and they are very annoying outdoors, they are just another useless OPSM/VARILUX product.
The store manager, Helen, initially told me that the replacement lenses come with 2 years warranty, When I asked her to upgrade them to a better-quality plastic to avoid future claims, and I offered to pay the price difference, Helen said they will “modify” the warranty, then she quoted me $150 pending the approval of the area manager, but the area manager Karen refused to upgrade the cheap plastic sighting a “Policy” and I was told that there is no warranty at all!!!! a blatant corporate arrogance.
I have a consented recording of Nicole from OPSM customer care telling me that the replacement lenses come with 2 years warranty, the same thing that Helen said at the beginning. But Helen, the Parramatta store manager and Elizabeth, the NSW manager started saying that the replacement lenses warranty starts at the date of the initial purchase, which means that they came up with an odd policy that, in essence, says: "Manufacturer warranty on the replacement lenses expired long before they were manufactured and given to me". I Couldn't get a copy of the policy maybe because there is none. But I got two pieces of OPSM/VARILUX useless cheap plastic!
Don’t do my mistake, look at OPSM’s appalling reviews on decent sites other than Google corporation, they are at the bottom where they belong.

Would definitely recommend OPMS EASTGARDENSN, the optometrist was very professional, conducted a full and comprehensive eye examination. All staff are absolutely lovely. Alex, Ashika went over and beyond. Alex was so friendly and helpful, and they have a fantastic range to choose from. Definitely 5
This is the WORST company I’ve ever…
This is the WORST company I’ve ever been in touch with. If you need a new pair of glasses, please don’t waste your time like I did. I am still waiting to have my pair of glasses after 3 weeks, and when I asked where the f*** are my glasses because i need them, the customer service told me that basically it’s my fault because I didn’t buy their own frame. Yep, it’s a shame tho because after I bought the first one, I changed my frame with one of those they own, so it’s THEIR frame. Honestly I don’t know how a company like this can go ahead, it’s the worst company ever. Ah yes, I asked twice my prescription and after one hour nobody sent it to me. Go f*** yourself Opsm, and you guys, go somewhere else and don’t waste time and money for a company that doesn’t give a damn about what you pay for.
Do not bother ordering anything online
Do not bother ordering anything online. Considering this company has a considerable share of the glasses and contact lenses market in Australia, you’d think they’d have a fast dispatch and delivery system. It’s been a week and a half since I ordered my contact lenses and I haven’t received the email confirmation to say they’ve been sent. I will shortly run out and have to go without. Thankfully, I’m not as blind as a bat, so I’ll manage. Im sure for a lot of people this wouldn’t be the case. By the time my order is shipped, it will be well over two weeks before it is delivered. In 2023 there aren’t any excuses for such a large company to have such a s*** delivery service. Good luck trying to contact them either. I wish I’d seen these reviews sooner.
