I genuinely don’t know where to start, because “thank you” doesn’t quite cover what Brian gave us.

I am that bride. I ask 10,000 questions, I overthink everything, and photographs have always been incredibly important to me. I come from a family of photographers, so I knew from the very beginning that choosing our photographer wasn’t just about finding someone who could take beautiful pictures. We wanted someone who would understand us, capture the feeling, and somehow turn our wedding into a collection of memories we could actually step back into.

Our whole wedding was built around the experience. The adventures, the places, the little moments, the chaos, the laughter, the story of the two of us. And boy, did Brian deliver.

He went completely out of his way to make our dreams a reality. He didn't just photograph the day we planned. He came along for the ride. He embraced the adventures, rolled with every change of plan, and somehow made everything feel effortless.

We’re an introvert/extrovert mix, which could probably be a fairly interesting combination to photograph, but Brian just got us. He saw us as we actually are. The silly moments, the quiet moments, the ridiculous moments, the moments where we were just completely ourselves. He didn’t make us feel like we were performing for a camera. He jumped into our world and captured it from the inside.

And the banter? Absolutely elite.

By the end of our time together, it genuinely felt like we were saying goodbye to someone who had been part of the wedding rather than simply our photographer. There were hugs, there was plenty of banter, and there was that slightly surreal feeling of, “Wait... you were actually here for all of this.”

Looking through our photographs now, we don't just see a wedding day. We see our wedding day. We see the adventure, the atmosphere, the ridiculousness, the love, the people, the places and all those tiny moments that we didn’t even realise were happening at the time.

That is what makes these photographs so incredibly special.

Brian didn't just capture our story.

He became part of it.

And ultimately, that’s exactly what we hoped for. It was our place, your story... and what he delivered was Your Place, Our Story.

Brian and Katie were amazing during our elopement at Glencoe, the full experience was so relaxed , Katie produced a lovely wedding picnic in our room for us to return to after our photos , we’ve not received our album yet as we just got married but the previews are beautiful, also Katie recorded some of our ceremony which was really special for us to have to look back on and to show family and friends , would highly recommend for anyone looking to elope , thanks again , love Ellen & Brian McWilliams xx

Well what can i say!? We have recieved our album and we are so, so glad we chose our place your story to capture our special day. From the get go after our first video call with Brian, himself and Katie have been the best and so accomodating. Helping with any kind of questions we had, to a list of any recommendations we needed.
The minute i met Katie i was relieved! So lovely and easy to get along with felt like I'd known her for ages and she got straight to action, no time waisted! Katie captured the dramatics we wanted perfectly and braved the rain (and there was a lot) with a smile on her face and lots of laughter! We always wanted the mist on the mountains and we got just that with a fabulous muddy dress & shoes! With having the best knowledge of glencoe we let Katie take the reigns and take us to the best places she thought best for photos and she was not wrong. I'd go back and do it all again tomorrow! If you're questioning doing it.. just do it! The best decision we've ever made! To the both of you, thank you will never cut it! X

We had our Engagement in 2025 and we booked due to reading really great reviews but unfortunately we didn't have a great experience. On the week of the proposal my partner chased multiple times as it wasn't clear when we were meeting or what was happening. With no answer the day before my partner chased again asked for an urgent update as again we didn't know what time or where we needed to be. Due to how stressed my partner was about this he told me about what was happening. The morning off we messaged again and finally got a response to be in the location in a hour (which didn't give us long to get ready and we were rushing around). It does say online that they will contact you before the day to make arrangements but this didn't happen which felt like they forgot someone was booked in.

When we got to the location at the time agreed no one was there, they finally showed up 10-15 mins after. When it came to the proposal the moment was great but we felt like we were of an inconvenience and felt forgotten about in what was supposed to be a memorable experience.

After the shoot we were told we would get our photos back in a few weeks and also a video but I had to chase to get these back and again felt like we were forget about. Still also to this day we didn't get any video. I feel like for the price and lack of communication I wouldn't recommend.

Brian and Katie brilliantly captured our elopement in Glencoe, making the experience stress-free and enjoyable. We chose our ceremony location and trusted them with the rest, which proved to be an excellent decision. The atmosphere was calm, with no sense of urgency, and we felt comfortable and natural throughout, unlike our usual experience with photography. Receiving more than 1100 photos, we are incredibly thankful for these stunning memories of our special day. A huge thank you to both!

My husband Harry and I reached out to Our Place Your Story to help us capture some lovely moments of our first wedding anniversary. We can't thank Brian enough for helping us feel relaxed on the day and capturing some really beautiful and candid moments. We couldn't be more pleased with how our photos turned out. My husband, Davy, and I approached Brian of Our Place Your Story with a bit of a vision as to what we'd like. Our vision became a unique reality due to Brian and Katie's knowledge, expertise and friendly, personalised touch. Indeed, we were so happy and comfortable with Brian and Katie that we got them to be our witnesses in our elopement ceremony. We announced to our friends and family at a party we threw a couple of weeks later in Glasgow that we'd married and it was a joy to finally be able to show our wonderful photos. We were, of course; asked who the photographer was! Just, thank you for everything, Brian and Katie.

What can I say? Who'd have thought photography could be happy, fun, relaxing and full of laughs as well as getting genuine, in-the-moment, joyous images. Delighted! Thanks so much, Brian and Katie 🥰

Brian and Katie did a fantastic job of photographing our elopement in Glencoe. They made everything so easy and relaxed for us. We picked the spot for our ceremony and left the rest of the decisions on any locations/ideas of photos to them and they did not disappoint. We never felt rushed at any point and really felt relaxed and not at all awkward (as we normally would getting photos taken). We were given over 1100 photos from our day and we are forever grateful for these beautiful pictures to look back on and remember our day. Thank you both so much!

We recently had a family shoot with Brian and are thrilled with the photos. It was a stunning sunny day in Glen Coe so amazing light and he took us to some really breath taking spots to capture some lovely 'natural' shots of us all together. He made us all feel really comfortable and it honestly didn't feel like a photoshoot at all which was wonderful. Very relaxed and no major posing which put us all at ease for sure. The outcome has been tremendous and we have so many beautiful images of our little baby girl to cherish for years to come. He even pointed us in the right direction of where to have a nice 'quiet' dip in the river and it was perfect - away from the usual more crowded hotspots. Thank you Brian! Brian was flat-out amazing!! He came all the way out to the Quiraing for our photos. Very long drive for him, so beyond impressed that he spent the majority of his day driving for us! He was super knowledgeable of the area, gave great direction for poses, and also gave us some history of Scotland/Isle of Skye! We seriously cannot recommend Brian and Our Place Your Story enough! He just sent us our sneak peak photos and we cannot stop looking at them!! Book them now!!!!

I reached out to Brian to capture my wedding proposal to my (now) fiancée. Within a few hours after I filled in the form on the website, Brian reached out to me by e-mail and WhatsApp.

Brian proved himself very flexible. It was just a few weeks before we were coming to Scotland, but he was able to squeeze us in.

We scheduled a call, where we discussed my preferences and ideas about the proposal. Brian showed his extensive experience by recommending the most beautiful place for the proposal and explaining me in detail how the proposal and photoshoot should happen.

During the proposal he made sure my fiancée did not see him and he took the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen with my face on it. You can witness his talents on his website. The rest of the photoshoot was very relaxed and Brian had a clear idea of the things we should do to make nice pictures. The results are splendid!

After the photoshoot, Brian helped us a lot with restaurant recommendations and recommendations for the remainder of our travel through Scotland.

Given the good reviews here, you may understand that Brian is a busy man, so it may take some time for him to get back to you. Nevertheless, he works really hard to get your pictures ready as fast as possible and he always gets back to you.

We had the pleasure of having Katie and Brian as our photographers and witnesses for our elopement at Steall Falls, Fort William.
Both were amazing people, so attentive to our requirements and we were happy to trust them with our day before having visiting our venue as they were local and very experienced at hiking and knowing the best spots!!
From the beginning they were on top of communication (which there was a lot of on my part!)
So friendly and professional and the photos came out absolutely amazing, more perfect than we could have imagined!
Our day was absolutely perfect and was captured in the best way possible.
We cannot thank you both enough for sharing our special day with us and providing us with memories that will last a lifetime for not only us but our son.

From the moment we ‘met’ virtually we knew Brian was the right fit as we just wanted a chilled day with natural photos in beautiful locations. We’re not used to being in front of a camera but Brian made us feel so comfortable and relaxed, half the time we didn’t even notice him taking photos as we were too busy having a laugh! Since we eloped just the two of us it was important to be able to look back at photos and relive the day and Brian captured our happiness and love perfectly. Brian and Katie couldn’t have been more helpful with recommendations for the area in advance and driving us about on the wedding day, it was just like spending the day with friends. From the get go, Brian made me feel at ease and made planning for the photo shoot completely easy! During the shoot, I learned about the Glencoe area and got to see areas that I never would have thought to go. It was a great experience and my pictures literally look I walked out of a fairy tale book!

We booked Brian for a family photo shoot on Camusdarach Beach during our recent holiday in the area. Brian has created some beautiful images for us, we are so pleased with the end product. On the day, Brian was patient and accommodating with our youngest and guided us when needed. We would highly recommend Our Place Your Story.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Scotland and booked a couples photoshoot. We're both not comfortable in front of the camera but Brian made us feel at ease. The locations he took us to were truly beautiful and memorable. Brian was very personable and helped us a lot with poses. We received some preview photos a few hours after the photoshoot & can't wait to see the whole album!

We are over the moon with our Wedding photos. When booking, Brian let us know that we would recieve at least 300 photos and that these would be ready within four weeks of our Wedding day. We got our photos yesterday and there was around 500 photos. Cant believe how many there were. Brian and Katie also made sure we got these in the correct timeframe and before the 4 weeks mark. We arent overly comfortable getting our photos taken but Brian made us feel very comfortable and there was no awkwardness at all. We arent into unatural photos or acting out something just for the photo and our experience was nothing like that. It was all natural and real life. We would definately recommend Our place , Your Story. Katie was also fab with our children while Brian took our photos as a couple. Wish we could relive the whole day again but so glad we have all these photos to look back our perfect day. Thanks so much again. The Penmans x
