VERY MISLEADING
Purchased the insurance with Gold cover to be covered for riding motorcycles and everything else that I may do abroad. Purchased a 6 month policy BUT I found after having a very difficult motorcycle accident and ending up in hospital that the bike is not covered in the slightest in regards to fixing. DO NOT BUY THIS POLICY if you intend to ride motorcycles abroad. Incredibly misleading policy wording around section 5b.

We have reviewed the wording and cannot see how it is confusing or misleading in any way.
Your policy is a travel insurance policy which provides cover for medical treatment while abroad, this medical cover extends to driving a motorised vehicle while abroad so long as you are 'following local laws and regulations', which means your vehicle has to be insured either as part of a rental agreement or under a motor insurance policy. It would be the responsability of your motor insurer/rental insurance to repair any damage to your motorcycle.
We are not aware of any travel insurance policy sold in the UK that would include motor insurance within it, in particular this is due to the fact that a UK insurer wouldn't be able to issue valid car/motorcycle insurance for a vehcile in another country. I further note that the policy wording clearly states that there is no cover under section 5 for driving motorised vehciles (see page 9).

Don't extend during trip
Don't extend during trip! Purchased original policy for 6m and was well priced and good quality. The trip was extended my 2wks and the price to cover was over half the original cost again with no claims during original period away. I was shocked by the price but had to purchase as no other option. I don't see this as Treating Customers Fairly which is meant to be a pillar of FCA Laws.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your extension pricing.
As you purchased a backpacker policy the minimum policy (or extension) length is 1 month and the longer the policy or extension you buy the better the value. All extensions are priced based on the current rates for a policy, for example for your selection (Gold cover to Worldwide excluding USA, Canada, Mexico & Carribean) the rates are currently:
1 month: £102.00
3 months: £196.75
6 months: £297.50
12 months: £439.50
You can verify these prices directly on our website. While you only needed a 17 day extension we've had to charge you for the minimum 1 month duration. We've charged the same price as you would pay for a new policy so you havn't been penalised for buying an extension and have therefore been treated fairly.

We have contacted Davies (the gadget claims handler appointed by the insurer of your policy) and they have informed us that they could not find any submitted claim. They have logged the claim on your behalf and have been trying to call you on your registered phone number on the 2nd and 7th of this month but have been unable to reach you, they have also emailed you accordingly. Please check your inbox and reply to their email, or you can call Davies at 0345 074 4828 to proceed with your claim.
