Horrible people, horrible agency. Worst experience of my life with them!!!!
We were selling a house through GL Auctioneers; I whish we never listened to ones who recommended them as âbest agency in Limerickâ. Now it's clear that they are not even close to that!
Long story short: we wanted to sell our property, and they were recommended by person we trust. Our bad, we didnât read any reviews or asking a second opinion about them before signing the contract. Have to admit, the first contact was very promising. We have received a ton of promise on how quickly they are able to sell a property, especially having the qualities of what our house had.
We were very clear on how much we want to sell our house for, still it was told to us, that they will put a price much lower, so they âcan bring in people for viewâ. We said that we are not happy about that and we think that is lying to the people who are interested in the property. The reaction was this is âthe name of the game, this is how you are selling the house: you put lower price, that brings people in, so they bid, and you get your priceâ. (In brackets remark: no, we didnât get the price we wanted!)
Had no other choice then to believe them, so on top of that we offered a bonus if they have a sale agreed on the property in 4-week time. That was written in the contract. The same contract contains that they can charge us with anything above their fee only after our written consent. Needless to say, that they added extra into the final statement, WITHOUT any verbal, and definitely not written consent from our side.
After signing the contract, we have not received any calls or feedback on our property, despite I could clearly see that the counter on daft.ie with our property is spinning like mad and reaches over 2000 vies in less than a month. Still no calls that our property have any interest for a view.
After two months of patiently waiting, we made a call, to see what is going on. All we got is hundreds of different types of excuses of why and how they couldnât arrange a single view. Only after making clear that we are going to cancel the contract, they showed up with one potential buyer showing the house.
A soon as the Sale Agreed, and obviously getting deposit covering their fee from a potential buyer, they didnât bother at all to help us or give information of progress. When we sent a mail, there was no reply or the best we got is âitâs between the solicitorsâ.
Above all this, I can mention, labelling our property with different description, giving their own opinion about during the view, delaying issuing the invoice more than 3 weeks after the sale was closed, charging extra on what was agreed, etc etc.
Overall, the whole attitude and behaviour was extremely unprofessional and morally questionable, not reaching even the lowest bar of having a good costumer treatment.
To summarize: They spoke to the customer (us) in very rude manners and
disturbingly demeaning tone always. Not giving any update or feedback for weeks, and if you dare to call them, you are the mean person disturbing and questioning their work.
They are clearly forgetting that the costumer is paying their bills and wages on the end of the day!
