With the Railboard iPhone or iPad app, you can save lots of money by finding super-cheap split train tickets. Plus, you have easy access to live train times powered by National Rail Enquiries.
With Split Tickets, our clever algorithms find combinations of tickets that together offer the same journey but at a lower price than a regular ticket.
This is done by splitting regular train tickets at calling points along the journey. So instead of one ticket from A to C, you have two tickets from A to B and B to C. well designed and accessible
I am blind and use Apple‘s voiceover screen reader on my phone. I’ve been using rail board since autumn 2019 as my last Trains app had become inaccessible with an update – so annoying and not unusual. It became very clear that rail board was well designed and had taken screen reader accessibility into consideration. There were three very small things that didn’t work so well, I contacted John the owner with a detailed explanation, and those things were put right within a week. Rail board has increased in features significantly since then dash in particular the ability to buy tickets through the app. It has remained Accessible. I can manoeuvre around it as quickly as most cited people because it is well designed and gives me all the information that I’m need. Thank you.

First choice for train tickets

The first train was delayed and we only found out at the station. Luckily we were early enough to catch the earlier train. Then there was no where for luggage on the second train and no where near enough seats. I am nearly 70 years old and had to stand up the entire journey from Waterloo to Southampton in a crowded doorway.

Sorry to hear there wasn't space for your luggage and that you had to stand for well over an hour on a crowded train. And the stress of the cancelled train, even if you were able to catch the earlier service that was still running.
It's also disappointing to hear that nobody offered you a seat, especially given the length of the journey.
As a ticket retailer, realistically we can only make the ticket-buying process as smooth as possible; the reliability and quality of the actual train services is out of our hands.
Even so, apologies on behalf of the train operating company.

Difficult to get to correct page found it confusing.
Once got to correct the page then was ok able to see split tickets which saved us £10

Very reliable
Railboard app is the one I use every time to book ScotRail tickets. Works every time (unlike ScotRail’s own app, which is a bit temperamental)

Hi,
Railboard only sends the following types of emails:
- An email to confirm your booking.
- An email with your e-tickets, if applicable.
- Replies and updates for customer-initiated actions (such as requesting a refund, emailing Customer Support, etc.).
- Important service-related communications (although in the entire history of Railboard, we have only ever sent one of these, when the National Rail refund rules changed).
We don't send marketing or promotional emails. But if the customer has not opted out of Trustpilot review invites, we do send review invites from Trustpilot. Which I'm guessing is what your review refers to.
You'll be happy to hear, though, that you can unsubscribe from them, and it will unsubscribe you from all Trustpilot review invite emails from all businesses. Just go to the bottom of the email and tap "Unsubscribe".
Apologies if you don't like the Trustpilot review invites, but they are important for us to help spread the word about Railboard. We consider them acceptable partly because they are commonly used by online businesses, such as Railboard, but also because once you unsubscribe from them for one business, you're unsubscribed from all Trustpilot emails for all businesses.
So usually people who don't want to receive them don't, because they've already unsubscribed when buying other things online. Which is probably why this is the first negative feedback we've received about the Trustpilot emails.
However, I do take your point on board, and completely understand why you would have preferred not to get the Trustpilot review invite email. This might not be what you want to hear, but it just comes down to the benefit to Railboard from letting customers share their experiences via Trustpilot reviews outweighing the occasional customer annoyed by a review invite email. Sorry, that's just the trade-off we've made.

Best app for UK rail travel
Easy to use, clear breakdown of journey with info such as platform and set numbers. Also live info re delays, cancellations, etc which are sadly all too frequent so very helpful

Good app but bad side is when buying…
Good app but bad side is when buying more than 1 ticket with different railcards to travel together you can’t make a group booking they have to be seperate bookings
