With the Railboard iPhone or iPad app, you can save lots of money by finding super-cheap split train tickets. Plus, you have easy access to live train times powered by National Rail Enquiries.
With Split Tickets, our clever algorithms find combinations of tickets that together offer the same journey but at a lower price than a regular ticket.
This is done by splitting regular train tickets at calling points along the journey. So instead of one ticket from A to C, you have two tickets from A to B and B to C. Love the split tickets savings I make!
Railboard is such a great app with clear screens and really easy to use. A really wonderful feature is how it uses split tickets which can make big savings - I just saved £8 on a one hour journey. You get multiple tickets but all you need to are the first and last in the journey to get and out of the barriers. It's so easy and such a saving! I always get e-tickets when available (almost always) which makes it even more simple.

My new favourite app
Finally! A UK rail app that shows live departures and offers a nice booking experience (split tickets, Apple Pay, invoice, add to calendar etc).
All without ads. Excellent.

Clearly designed by rail users
The app has clearly been designed by people who use it. Layout is logical, being able to plan, pin, add to calendar, buy tickets (including split) easily. This is my default app that I recommend to everyone.

Really like the simplicity and ease of booking rail tickets and also checking train times. Requested a refund as I had to change my booking, and received it in my bank account within hours. Impressed.

Just a really easy app to use
Just a really easy app to use and to navigate round. You get your e-tickets and confirmation email almost as soon as you press enter for the final transaction. Whenever I've had any reason to get in touch with them, they've been fantastic.

App completes sales in error
The app sometimes has problems stating it will not complete a sale meaning you buy your ticket elsewhere. Beware - it will complete the sale anyway and the company will not refund.

Hi Scott,
I’m really sorry that we weren’t able to offer you a refund on this occasion. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any evidence that an issue occurred during the booking process, so we can’t issue a refund.
When a booking is successfully made, a confirmation email is sent immediately, even if there is a network error when confirming the successful booking in the app. So, in the future, when booking through Railboard or other apps, if you encounter a similar issue, we would recommend checking your email before re-booking the ticket elsewhere.
Again, very sorry for the disruption and that we were not able to issue you a refund.

The trains ran on time, my journey was quick and the carriages were clean. Staff were polite and helpful.

I was sent a link to the app by a family member.
After some trial and error I managed to make my bookings.I wasn’t sure how to pause a journey to allow a family meeting, so made separate booking.
Overall said system which I need to be more familiar with.
