Unfortunately I had the displeasure ofâŠ
Unfortunately I had the displeasure of meeting Dr Ben Holroyd at Mount Stuart Hospital on Monday 29th September 2025. After the visit it became quite clear he was just interested in whatever consult fee the NHS was paying him to see me. I was barely in 5 minutes before he rudely kicked me out refusing any help. His attitude and demeanour was rude and sarchastic. It felt like as I was an NHS patient he could treat me like a lower class. What concerns me most is that it became obvious that he had not even looked at my scans properly and prior to being kicked out I had to ask about these issues as he hadnât covered them. It really felt this was all about the consult fee with no intention to help even if it really needed it. My advice would be to avoid Mount Stuart Hospital and wait a bit longer for an NHS hospital who actually care. Iâm now in process of getting a second opinion as I have no trust in Dr Holroyd.
Beacon Park Hospital Silence
Communication with the Beacon Park Hospital has been nonexistent to both my telephone and email queries in relation to an up and coming procedure. Really disappointing. Suggest giving this Healthcare a wide berth for NHS and particularly Private service provisions.

After being referred by my GP to MountâŠ
After being referred by my GP to Mount Stuart (Torbay) I expected a bit more selected service than I would have by going NHS. It was an absolute disaster. I can categorically say now they are only interested in taking your money ! From lack of communication, broken machines, downright rudeness I will never go private again, especially at Mount Stuart. Spend your hard earned cash at your peril, better off waiting for NHS !!!!

No regard for patient's time...
Pre-arranged blood tests at the Ramsay Woodland Hospital ..but arrived to find they had run out of the requisite kits. Not just today run out, but run out the previous week apparently but no-one thought to call and rearrange the appointment. So a 100% fruitless 2.25 hour round trip. What a complete waste of time and fuel...

Poor experience with SpringfieldâŠ
Poor experience with Springfield hospital. I had a MRI scan booked and cancelled last minute. No availability for weeks. Very poor service.
Cortisone injection £1900!!
Itâs so disappointing to find out that the cortisone injection is £1900 from Ramsey health care. People are in excruciating pain and you are happy to put people into financial difficulty for this. Itâs saddening. All the surgeons are not pleased either and suffer great ethical dilemma around this.

The worst experience I have ever hadâŠ
The worst experience I have ever had with a consultant in the medical profession. I come from a family of doctors and nurses and they were appalled by the service that I received form the surgeon I was referred to. I can't speak for the hospital entirely, however, if you have any gasto problems DO NO visit this hospital.
3 weeks post op major sine surgery viaâŠ
3 weeks post op major sine surgery via Euxton Hall 10 out of 10. Mr Bourne has saved my life! Hospital staff AMAZING,Room AMAZING,Food AMAZING. Only down fall is the waiting times to get seen then to have mris to then get results been 6 month waits over the last 3 years. But worth the wait. I'm nhs patient and could not of got better paying out my own pocket!
Terrible experience
I had a terrible experience here I went in for a knee replacement got a terrible infection then had to have a washout , little concern from them or aftercare still affected and my leg is worse than it was before I went in .
The NHS in Milton Keynes sent me to Ramsay Healthcare
The NHS in Milton Keynes sent me to Blakelands Hospital so I was never a private patient but an NHS patient at a private hospital. I had an appointment at Blakelands Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK that was cancelled. I was told both that the Urologist I was due to see retired and also that he suddenly left for personal reasons. I waited many months for another appointment.
Friday 28 February 2025 at Blakelands Hospital Milton Keynes, I told the consultant I had both diabetes and Parkinson's Disease. He told me wrongly that the only NHS treatment available to me is male injections. What I needed would be purchase a male vacuum device but the NHS would not fund it and I would have to pay several hundreds of pounds to purchase one myself.
I directly approached the Watford company marketting the vacuum devices and they confirmed my entitlement to a free vacuum pump but I had to cancel the appointment the company made for me on Tuesday 25 March 2025 also at Blakelands Hospital Milton Keynes as I was getting married that day.
Tuesday 22 April 2025 finally saw the company sales rep. at Blakelands Hospital.
Wednesday 14 May 2025 a PRIVATE PRESCRIPTION along with a separate letter mentioning I qualify under the NHS SLS but did not explain that SLS means Selected List Scheme and the rules state SLS Scheme to be on the prescription, not on another piece of paper and the prescription must not be marked PRIVATE PRESCRIPTION. I have been to various pharmacies in Milton Keynes who have given wrong information as they don't know what the SLS Scheme is, but I was correctly told I would have to pay for a PRIVATE PRESCRIPTION. Since then I have tried contacting Blakelands Hospital and gone in circles with their automated phone system and left several voice mails asking someone to contact me and also sent a message using their contact me page. No replies to any of these attempts to contact them.
Remember Friday 28 February 2025 the Consultant at Blakelands Hospital told me the only option the NHS could offer me was injections? Sunday 30 March 2025 at Milton Keynes University Hospital injections were promised! The issued prescription was worthless as the drug is no longer produced and is permanently discontinued with a generic replacement available but it is only for use in clinics and cannot be prescribed outside of clinical settings. Surely he should of known this? Weeks later a prescription for a second drug was issued but this medication is also unavailable so after all these weeks of being married I still can't do the husband - wife thing.
I had an operation via vitality
I had an operation via vitality, I paid the upfront fee of £100 which is the only thing you need to pay as vitality cover the costs. After the operation I received confirmation from vitality that the bill was paid and nothing to worry about. Winfield hospital Gloucester then added addition admin fees after the bill was paid. Clearly vitality the bill was paid and explained this to the Winfield, they then passed on the debt collectors onto me to recover two additional admin fees after £48 and £68 give or take. Absolutely disgusting post hospital treatment, considering the operation was paid in full.
Fitzwilliam hospital,(Ramsay HealthâŠ
Fitzwilliam hospital,(Ramsay Health care) have just completed a reverse shoulder replacement, previously I had a Hip replacement by the same . The Surgeon/consultant Mr Pathak was amazing . I could not thank him enough , he explained the best option for me to ensure my future would improve with no pain in my left shoulder. The caring staff looked after me post op to ensure I was comfortable. Unfortunately the only complaint was I had to wait 7 months due to NHS waiting lists but no fault of this practice as they are assisting the NHS . I am sure if you were fortunate to be able to go private then the wait would be shorter. Every one's experience is different and there are bound to be issues especially with administration but don't let this reflect on the exemplary treatment the consultants do. I personally did not have a problem with the admin staff so I can only thank them as well . Maybe this is an area that has to be addressed to bring the better reviews into line.
Ramsay, if you see this review please pass my thanks to Mr Pathak for giving me a positive outlook with less pain in my retirement.
FIRST CLASS HOSPITAL CARE :
Attended Springfield Hospital, Lawn Lane, Chelmsford for short stay minor operation. Can only say that the level of reassurance, support and care was excellent from everyone encountered particularly the day and night nurses and professional Doctors operating.
Not the best treatment âŠ
Having been referred to Ramsay health care because I'm a long nhs waiter, I got a call in Feb 2024 to say they are taking over and told me where my local hospital was and to expect a call within 3 weeks. Well 3 weeks past no call, so I chased it up only to be told their consultant is 'messing them around' 3months then 6 months past still nothing still chasing. 9 months later I was given an appointment at my chosen hospital only for the consultant to then make it a phone call instead of face to face. Now after speaking to him he asked what I want him to do....surely it's his recommendation and on the notes he made he had written down the wrong side of my body!. Now I was told that all my appointments and treatment would be at my local hospital, which turns out was a complete lie. I've been having to travel over an hour away when I have had any type of treatment. Yet I have never actually seen my consultant face to face so he doesn't even know me. Nearly 18 months later only just had 1 treatment. Having to travel over an hour away is causing such difficulties especially when I can't drive after my appointment. All my treatments have been in NHS facilities not the private hospital.Would I recommend Ramsay Health care, your better off waiting on the NHS

Hernia surgery at oaklands
I had hernia surgery last week.
Very fake and awful hospital. Nursing staff made mistakes, no privacy and backchatting patients in the corridors and staff were rough in patient care.
Also at 9pm they wanted me out despite not being fit enough to leave as they wanted the bed for another patient. No care at all and not considerate to my after care either as they don't see it as their problem.
The consultant was great but that is it really. I also observed how some patients were treated differently depending on colour and type of patient. I wasn't even being offered food for breakfast. Had to ask myself because apparently they didn't know I had stayed the night. I actually didn't want any anyways but it's the fact of the matter wasn't offered.
Never want to use again!!! Way better private hospitals around than this!! Plus when I've been inpatient in NHS, never have I had any issues so goes to show the different priorities these private hospitals have. It's all about the money only and fake and forced care due to gaining money. Had staff rush me off bed just because shift was ending. So awful there, never again will I go there.

This hospital has more skills in covering up bad practice than they do in delivering good practice.
I went to New Hall for a straightforward hernia repair. The surgeon failed to do a pre op exam, required by NICE and also the manufacturers of the repair mesh.
During the surgery the surgeon failed to establish the size and location of the hernia and thus failed to choose the correct the mesh for the repair.
The surgery left me with 15cm of good tissue covered by the mesh, this should have been no more than 6 and only achieved 1cm of mesh overlap beyond the defect. The minimum is 3cm. How they could get it wrong at both extremes really does defy belief.
I then had a diagnostic laparoscopy, they confirmed that the mesh had been placed in accordance with its manufacturers instructions, they failed to confirm if the correct mesh had been chosen.
They failed to confirm if 3cm of mesh overlap has been achieved. They failed to confirm why 15cm of good tissue has been covered.
The questions have been repeated on several occasions including a formal complaint. It's now currently with the parliamentary health ombudsman.
The hospital claims to not be hiding anything, but answers reasonable questions with no comment and refuses to disclose laparoscopic images that the claim proves it was a good repairs. These are hardly the actions of the hospital with nothing to hide.
If your having problems with this hospital, please complain as soon as possible, they need to know how bad this hospital really is.
Also be aware that this hospital is deleting negative reviews of their services on some platforms.
Silo departments and a lack of customer service and communication
Not what private healthcare should be. The secretaries do not help, Consultants book their own schedules and are difficult to get hold of. You have to chase all the departments yourself. Private healthcare team know you're with BUPA but allocates non-fee assured doctors to treat you for procedures. Lack of communication within their own organisation. If you are unwell, please seek another hospital. You'll just be passed around here.
I booked a GP service
I booked a GP service - a telephone consultation - for £49. To sum up they said go to your doctor within 24 hours for tests. I went to Ramsey Health as I am finding it very hard to get an appointment to see my GP. They suggested going to a walk-in clinic if I can't get a GP appointment within the time frame.
Nhs victims of Ramsey health please take action
I have suffered at the hands of this company too. Their modus operandi is always the sameâŠthey take patients from nhs promising better treatment, deliberately waste time ordering numerous consultations and delays, botch and then throw you back into the nhs waiting list. Iâm reading the reviews and so many are the same story. You are a cash cow they treat poorly and discard. They can do this due to an ineffective ombudsman and a deck stacked against their victims. Unless you have 50k to sue them, sadly you are unlikely to get a response. Contact your mp today as they should not be treating nhs patients with standards so low.
I suffered 70% cancellations, unqualified doctors, a botched op that has left me disabled and they exploited me by selling a faulty add on from one of their partners. 3 years later the nhs have had to provide two serious procedures to correct the damage they have done.
Stand strong, we can prevent them from harming others
