Fast authentication and you know what step it’s in every minute. I wish they would keep me logged in or use my face to login. That part gets old.

Not sure how thorough real authentication is. I had a good first experience a couple of years ago. But Recently, I had a bag authenticated from them come back as counterfeit. I bought this bag from FASHIONPHILE, and purposely didn’t mention it because I didn’t want them to be bias. After they heard I got it from FASHIONPHILE, they said to send additional images including any tags, dust bags, etc. They were going to escalate this to the higher ups and reauthenticate, but I never heard back. TBH, if they were really good at authenticating, they would be going off the bag, not the other items that came with it. I wanted a second authentication just for extra piece of mind. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good second experience, and will probably never use them again. I wouldn’t recommend real authentication.

I’ve now been burned twice by this company, and both incidents reveal a fundamental lack of expertise and accountability.

First, they authenticated a Chanel bag that was not original as represented. They failed to notice that the interior color was never produced with that exterior color—an extremely basic Chanel detail. They also made no disclosure that the bag had been dyed to a rarer (and more expensive) color. Leather Surgeons later caught the issue, and I was able to secure a full refund through the seller—not through this authenticator.

Second, I paid extra for Hermès authentication, including dating and valuation, for a Kelly bag. They insisted it was from the 1990s and valued it accordingly, despite the bag having split D-rings, a design feature Hermès did not use in the 1990s. This is not an obscure detail; it’s widely known among anyone with basic Hermès knowledge. If Hermès authentications cost extra, it’s fair to ask what “expertise” that fee is supposedly buying.

In both cases, once their mistakes were pointed out, they refused to issue refunds and ultimately stopped responding.

If you’re dealing with high-value luxury items, this is not a company you want safeguarding your transactions. Getting it wrong is bad enough—refusing to stand behind their work makes it worse.

I had a good experience. I sent in my pictures of the handbag. And waited. They got back to me and said what needed some additional pictures which I sent. And I got my determination the next day. It was a pretty simple process. I Had to look up what kind of pictures were needed but they had a guide on one of their pages. All in all pretty simple.

This is my first time using Real Authentication and it was an easy process, except they did a typo on the name of my product (not even close) and I kept telling them they made a mistake but the wouldn’t listen. I finally gave up and paid the extra $2 to change the name they screwed up. WTF

Easy, user-friendly process - very self-explanatory - anyone can do this! I especially appreciate the speed with which the authentication process was done, and the communication from the company (Real Authentication) was excellent. Worth the investment! Highly recommend!
