Dangerous Appliance, Zero Responsibility – Avoid This Seller

My experience with this seller has been genuinely dangerous, stressful and completely unacceptable from start to finish. I ordered a washing machine that arrived in a condition no customer should ever receive. It was dirty, covered in stains, and smelled strongly of stagnant water, which immediately raised concerns about how it had been stored or refurbished. Even worse, it arrived with no instructions at all — no setup guide, no mention of transit bolts, nothing to explain how to safely install or prepare the appliance.

Despite the lack of guidance, the machine was installed correctly, levelled, and the transit bolts were removed. On the second wash cycle, the appliance developed a severe and dangerous fault. It began vibrating violently, shaking so aggressively that it walked across the room, hit the walls, and ripped the drain hose off the spigot. This caused a major flood in my kitchen. I had to drag the machine out quickly to stop the water, which ruined my lino flooring and resulted in a personal injury. Coming home to find the machine smashing around the kitchen was frightening and put me and my child at real risk.

When I reported all of this, the seller responded with a template-style apology and attempted to blame me for “not removing transit bolts,” despite the fact that no instructions were provided and the bolts had been removed. This attempt to shift responsibility onto the customer after such a dangerous incident is extremely irresponsible.

The delivery process was equally poor. The seller stated the machine would arrive within 5 days, but they didn’t dispatch it until after that period. The courier they used was completely unreachable by phone, email, text or website. As a result, the machine arrived 14 days later, leaving me without a washing machine for over two weeks. Now, because the faulty machine is still in my home awaiting collection, I cannot even order a replacement, causing further disruption and additional costs.

This entire experience has been unsafe, stressful and avoidable. The seller has shown a complete lack of responsibility, care or professionalism at every stage. Based on my experience, I strongly advise avoiding this seller. No customer should be put at risk or left dealing with this level of damage, delay and disregard.

In response to their misleading reply:
The order date was 20th March and the delivery date was 3rd April. How many days is that?

No instructions were provided with the machine. Their attempt to blame “installation error” is pure speculation. If the transport bolts had not been removed, the machine would have gone berserk on the first wash, not the second.

Their faulty machine caused significant damage to my home. Their response on eBay was simply: “We will collect the item as a gesture of goodwill.”

If you want a washing machine that arrives late, sent by Skynet to destroy your family, get blamed for the faults, this is the company for you.

If you want a machine that arrives on time and in safe working condition, look elsewhere.

I encourage readers to look at Renew’s response to this review. Their reply speaks for itself: no ownership, no resolution, and no recognition of the concerns raised. This pattern is exactly why I felt the need to post here.

Firstly, we would like to clarify that your delivery was completed within our stated 3–5 working day lead time from dispatch. While we understand delays can feel frustrating, the order was processed and delivered in line with the service selected at checkout.

With regards to the installation and subsequent issue, all appliances supplied are customer installed unless a specific installation service is purchased. In this case, the appliance was installed by yourself and not by Renew2U or our delivery partners.

From the description provided, the behaviour you have outlined excessive vibration, movement and instability is consistent with transit bolts not being removed prior to use. Washing machines are fitted with transit bolts to secure the drum during transport, and if these remain in place, pressure builds internally during operation which will cause the machine to bounce, move aggressively and potentially disconnect hoses.

We do include manufacturer documentation, leaflets and inserts with our appliances which outline the correct installation process, including the removal of transit bolts and safe operation of the appliance. This is standard across all manufacturers.

We are, of course, sorry to hear about the experience you’ve had and any inconvenience caused. However, based on the information available, this appears to be related to installation rather than a fault with the appliance itself.

A collection and refund has been processed in line with our terms as a gesture of goodwill.

All items are supplied with 2 leaflets around the correct installation guides and this issue is caused by the non removal of transit bolts.

We are a family run business and have been for over 20 years experience in the white goods industry.

"Walking": The machine may move away from its original position, risking damage to walls, flooring, or pipe connections.

The dishwasher works great and is brand new; very happy with my purchase. I paid to have it installed, but they forgot to connect to the water supply so I had to do it myself anyways.

Washing machine

Bought a washing machine grade B with scratch on the back with extra discount. Really cheap and I was worrying if the damage reflects the performance. But is like new. Really happy with the new washing machine . Fast delivery, well organised. Thank you.

Really poor after sales service, hard work!

I don't really like leaving negative reviews, ill give 2 stars because the issue did eventually get resolved but only after a lot of babying and a lot of chasing!
I purchased a dryer from their eBay store last year in June 25 and it had gone faulty within 7 months. I reached out to them in mid December it was collected around 23rd December. I reached out to them a month later purely because it was around xmas time i thought id give them a grace period so they can get back up and running from the break etc. They turned around and said they didn't even receive my return...god knows where that's ended up. If i hadn't emailed i wouldn't have been contacted just left in the dark! Anyways apparently they received it back around end of Jan. They didn't say that they could repair it they simply offered me a replacement unit or a voucher to spend in their store, now we purchased that particular dryer due to space limitation in our home so we asked for a full refund so we could buy another that fits in our space from elsewhere, i wasnt getting much response from this, so naturally i had to advise them that i paid by credit card which usually wakes people up since you have 6 years to do a charge back claim. It took them a while to reply back to me, i imagine to source the right model, but a few days later as if by magic they had a new replacement unit of the same model. So we asked for this to be delivered, it got delivered around 7th Feb but this time it was missing the bottom kickplate! The frustration levels was crazy at this point. I emailed them and asked for them to send me the kick plate. Of course they had to send me the incorrect kickplate! Then i called them and asked for them to send the kickplate from my original unit and their exact words were oh we don't seem to have received your return which led me to believe they hadn't actually received the original dryer that i had initially sent back to them! Finally they sent out the correct kickplate the next day, baring in mind its now 14th Feb when i received this part. Its taken the best part of 7 and a half weeks to resolve this issue which is totally unacceptable really to be left without a dryer during winter which is ridiculous. The replacement unit seems to be working so far but only time will tell. So all in all the after sales service is almost non existent unless you hold their hand and really guide them through it which really isn't your job to do so since you don't get paid to do it!

We appreciate you acknowledging that the issue was ultimately resolved, however we do understand the frustration caused by the time it took and the level of communication you received throughout the process.

The period you are referring to did include the Christmas and New Year shutdown, which can impact carrier networks and return processing times. That said, we accept that communication should have been clearer and more proactive, particularly around the return tracking and updates on your unit.

In line with our process, once items are returned they are booked in, tested and assessed before we can confirm repair, replacement or alternative resolutions. In your case, a replacement unit of the same model was sourced and supplied as quickly as possible once confirmed available.

We’re also sorry for the error with the kickplate and the delay this caused in fully resolving the matter. This is not the standard we aim to deliver, and we will be feeding this back internally to improve both parts handling and communication.

We’re pleased to hear the replacement unit is now working correctly and hope it continues to do so without issue.

Bought a refurbished washing machine


Bought a refurbished washing machine from them with a 12 month warranty . It stopped working after 5 months so I emailed them but they refused to fix it or replace it . Do not trust this company they are a bunch of liers.

All of our refurbished appliances come with a 12-month warranty, and we fully honour this in line with our terms. We do not refuse valid warranty claims. Please note, used/second-hand appliances are supplied with a 3-month warranty, which is clearly outlined at the point of sale.

In all cases, we require basic fault information, and where needed, the appliance is returned for inspection and testing by our engineers to determine the cause of the issue.

If a fault is confirmed, we will always offer a repair, replacement or suitable resolution in line with the applicable warranty. However, we are unable to proceed where required information is not provided, or if the issue is found to be unrelated to a manufacturing fault (for example installation, environmental or user-related issues).

We would be more than happy to review this further for you. Please contact us directly with your order details so we can investigate and resolve this properly.

Overall I was very happy with the purchase, we had good communication and it arrived when it said it would.
I found the delivery guys very quite and disinterested but they where efficient in there job.
The only thing I would also say is there seemed to be more dings on the unit than had been shown in the photos.

'Refurbished' Miele washing machine failed with silence from renew2u.

I purchased a 'refurbished' Miele washing machine from this company, which then suffered a broken internal drum support just shy of 6 months from delivery (a known issue with these washing machines because of a corrosion problem with the aluminium alloy used).

They were quite responsive when I initially reported the fault and declined a repair as uneconomic, offering an alternative machine if I made up the cost difference.
Unfortunately the alternative machines were significantly more costly and also so badly damaged compared to the machine I'd originally purchased that they were not acceptable.

As a result I decided to exercise my consumer right to a full refund (because the product was deemed to have been faulty when purchased because it failed within 6 months of delivery).

I've had no response from this company since I made this request - just silence! So I'm going to have to pursue through the small claims court .

The other thing I noticed is that the machine casing had clearly never been opened since manufacture as the screw covers were still pristine. This machine was clearly never inspected internally it was almost certainly just switched on and a wash cycle run to ensure it works with no further checks. Making such purchases is thus akin to Russian roulette - you have no real support from the company if the device fails.

Purchase from this company and you may get lucky with a device that operates correctly, but if it doesn't - good luck getting a refund.

Check item thoroughly before ordering as it's very expensive to return

Thank you for your response, but your customer services confirmed that the basket was adjustable and even sent me a diagram for a different dishwasher. After I researched the appliance myself your company confirmed and accepted it's return as the basket was in fact not adjustable. Therefore it was mis-sold

Sold a dishwasher where dishes didn't fit. Their advice was to adjust the top basket. This was impossible as it was not adjustable. So I had to pay £50 for them to collect and inspect. Al in all £80 wasted in delivery fees for a dishwasher that wasn't fit for purpose.

Following return and inspection, the appliance was found to have no fault. As outlined in our terms, a £50 charge applies for unwanted returns or where no fault is found after testing, in addition to the original delivery cost.
