From the initial contact call I made, through the telephone interviews with a very friendly, knowledgeable advisor who at all times seemed to want to ensure we knew exactly the pro’s and very importantly the cons of what we were looking to do.
At no time were we pressured into any decisions or to rush any decision making.

My own personal curcumstances were dealt with by susan chessor a lovely person very proffesional in guiding you through the whole equity release process calls last a while but evrey step is spoken about i found the process easy enough and took the equity out of my house it has gave me more peace of mind than before in hard times for many 10/10 if i had to score

From the very start Sharon Coatalen explained the process. What we really liked was how she explained to cost to us and the effect It would have if and when we decided to sell. She was easily contactable, and answered any questions very quickly. A follow up call this year was very welcome HIGHLY RECOMENDED

In May 2025, I initially compared online the potential ER offers from 4 companies based on estimated property value, etc, and while there was quite a spread in potential ER loans, Royal London was significantly higher than the others. I received a call from an RL agent the following day and was contacted by Sharon Coatalen of Responsible Life a day later.

I had a long initial phone call with Sharon, explained my personal circumstances and why I was considering ER, and she explained the pros and cons of ER and whether it would be suitable for my circumstances.

Sharon explained all of the costs involved in taking an ER loan, including interest rates, optional repayments, etc, and contacted and instructed the solicitors to be used.

The ER loan offer was arranged within a few weeks of my initial contact with Sharon. However, I additionally needed to withdraw monies from some pension policies in order to use that and the ER loan to settle my existing mortgage. I engaged profession help to deal with the pension company but it still took several weeks for the pension funds to be released to me. During that time, Sharon arranged for the ER loan offer to be extended on 3 occasions. The ER loan was completed quickly after the pension funds were made available to me.

Throughout the entire process, I was very impressed by Sharon’s professionalism and knowledge. She was very easy to deal with, explained everything to me clearly and in detail, guided me at every step, kept me updated on progress and arranged a loan on terms which suited me. My best description of Sharon would be a true consummate professional.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the services of Sharon Coatalen and Responsible Life to anyone considering using equity release.

Lastly, I am exceedingly grateful to Sharon Coatalen and Responsible Life for helping me to reach a point where I will hopefully see out my remaining days in the property my late wife and I shared for 20 years.

Buying a house is one of the most stressful things you can do but Tennessee made the process feel so easy.
Tennessee was friendly, professional and explained all the steps in a way that we understood which put us at ease.
Tennessee was easily contactable throughout and we had regular reviews to check in with us at times that were convenient to us.
