Hestene mine har vært på beite hos Cathrine hver sommer i ti år 🤩 De blir godt ivaretatt og kan gå i flokk på gress uten at det er helseskadelig. Lavt innsektstrykk og variert terreng.

I worked with my gelding for weeks but never managed to get the expected result from the Connection exercise, as my horse was always anxious and wanting to join his herd. Then we realised the horse was lame, which explained his anxiety. After having started free lunging my horse, using RLAV's way of stopping him, he finally stops at the required distance, and waits for my signal.

I tried for so long to practice loading my pony into a trailer (unfortunately a trailer is a huge trigger from a life before me) and I was at my wits end, nothing worked. But after really diving into the “viking ways” and a few really productive training sessions, it finally worked and it haven’t been a problem ever since!!
Big fan now..!

Don’t hesitate ! The results will really surprise you. Not only do you become closer with your horses, you will grow as a person and find equally as great community!!

One day scrolling along I saw a post from Catherine, using a stuffed animals horse and she caught my attention. Used to be inundated with so many “trainers” on Facebook selling their take on things I clicked mainly for the entertainment value of the stuffed horse. That’s when I saw something different in her approach, it really took into perspective how the horse thinks and correlation of people behavior to the horse. She approaches from the bond with the horse, the horse willingly responding rather than pressure. There is release incorporated but not in a way that is unraveling the relationship with the horse. Catherine attended Holar and ridden the Mongel Derby. She’s incorporated those experiences into her training. Her principles align with what I do, which has always been a little different than many of the mainstream loud trainers. Her videos have helped me to reassure my confidence in approach and improve relationships with my horses. One of the biggest changes we have had is leading. I have found reteaching leading in the way Catherine demonstrates in Ride Like a Viking will improve everything else that you do with your horse. She addresses so many topics that will benefit you and your horse. Almost every topic is covered, I can’t think of any that aren’t but it’s dangerous to say all! She’s also very helpful and positive in her approach with humans who ask questions. I’ve joined the trainer group after becoming a member. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to make long term improvements in their horse.

Ride Like a Viking is for anyone who wants to connect and train their horse in a kind and ethical way. It doesnt matter if you are a novice or an experienced horse person because you will learn practical skills to train your horse. Ride Like a Viking is a great programme to follow and it will benefit all horses. There are many videos to watch that cover hundreds of topics. Also on Thursdays there is a question and answer meeting which you can join live or watch the replay. Catrine is very helpful and friendly and the sessions are very informative. I have learnt so much from the Thursday Q and A and the videos. I solved a problem with my yearling in a simple way, and it is not something I would have thought of doing before. From doing the connection and leading exercises and listening to the reasoning behind the programme, I have grown in confidence in handling my yearling. I feel excited for the future and all the things I will be achieving with my horse.

I Can only recommend joining an learning here. Not only do you learn a lot from the lessons, but also from the community and the live sessions. It is great!!!

The Ride Like a Viking program is easy to learn, logical and effective. All horses and horse people can benefit from this. Thanks to Ride Like A Viking, my always hungry coldblooded trotter, can now stand still in, or be led through a green meadow, without him trying to eat. Absolutely fantastic!

I used the program to be able to load two horses alone, it works. Now they go straight into the trailer.

I started the course after I saw some advertising at facebook. And as I have Icelandic horses and the way the horses were treated I got interested and I can say it´s great. Realtime lessons...it takes as long as it takes is here the key. It´s not a fix it in one minute course. But if you really want to get deep in connections with your horse. This ist the right thing to do and positive results will be achieved quicker than you think. I can just recommend this course for every one who wants to treat the horse fair and consequent without violence which leads at the end to deep connection.

An adventurous and fantastic place for horses, people, nature and had a rich wildlife. There is great hospitality, warmth and positivity at Ride like a Viking, and we look forward to coming back. A truly unique place and highly recommended!

This is an excellent programme for a range of situations, from handling young ponies, to training and dealing with problems. There is a library with courses to follow appropriate to your situation and weekly Q & As to give support and further advise along the way, along with input from a range of experienced RLAV trainers who host the Q&As once a month. I am looking forward to handling my foal foaling a kind approach and retraining my OTTB mare.

I bought a new Icelandic horse in January and soon discovered that 'a bit skittish' actually meant: scared of his own shadow outside the safety of the arena. I've been riding horses for 36 years, but in my days, you weren't thought how to really handle horses is a correct way. Focus was on riding and forcing them to do stuff. But that doesn't work with Frann.
Discovering Ride like a Viking has made a big change in the relationship I have with Frann. In a couple of months we have already developped a stronger bond, he starts trusting me and we have made many little steps forward on the way of making him a braver boy. This week he even stepped over a tarp that was flapping a bit in the wind at liberty. I'm sure that with time and RLAV's help, I'll be able to go on the relaxed hikes with Frann that I'm dreaming off.
They should teach this in every riding school, and not focus on making the horse do stuff by force.

This is my 2nd year in the Ride Like a Viking method, I am now both a certified Ride Like a Viking horse trainer and Instructor. I recommend this course to anyone who has a horse, or they want to train, start, or solve problems like i did, such as separation anxiety, grass addiction, trailer loading etc

Today the Ride like a Viking method really saved my health:
It was very windy, rain from all sides, the horses hungry and keen to get to the new pasture. I led one horse to the new pasture. The horse left behind was supernervous, running around, neighing and being very upset. It would have been dangerous to try to approach him or lead him. So I took a big breath and waited... until he calmed down a little bit. First then I went to him. We did some of the stuff I have learned i
Ride Like a viking and finally he hade calmed down so I could savely lead him to his friend.

For others it looks so nice when horses are in the pasture - for horseowners leading 100 meters can be like hell.

Some years ago I would have been bumping the leadrope and hoping for the best. Now I now better, thanks Cathrine and Ride like a Viking❤️
