unexpected additional cost
Product is good but I wasn't aware I was also signing up for a £40 subscription. The one off fee was excellent for the service received, however a later payment of £40 was attempted that I did not expect. BEWARE.

SCAM HIDDEN SUBSCRIPTION
You think you have paid for a one-off audio-to-text, and you end up with a hidden-away subscription, which you only find out when the money goes out of your bank. You then try to cancel the subscription you haven't signed up for, and you find out you have to email support. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM, SO PLEASE AVOID. Don't take any notice of the reply from Rileo. I had an email last night saying they had cancelled my subscription, which I never signed up for and said they would refund me. Guess what, they haven't done either. Ended up getting the bank to block the business.

Hey there! This is a fine tool, but sadly they are trying to scam you for no real reason. They have a great product, but they charge you €39 without you knowing after 14 days.
So... yes, you can use it, but make sure to use a bank account with no money on it so you won't get charged more, OR make sure you are properly "unsubscribed" afterwards.
The other bad thing is that you can't just unsubscribe (another feature they have intentionally made). So you will have to email them to unsubscribe you.
My advice: Copilot does the work just as well, but it might take a bit longer. At least it's free and not a scam.

I used Rileo once on 2 June 2026 for…
I used Rileo once on 2 June 2026 for what I understood to be a one-off transcription service costing £1.49.
Shortly afterwards, my bank detected and blocked an attempted charge of £39.99 from Rileo. I did not knowingly agree to a £39.99 recurring subscription.
The emails I received from Rileo referred to my transcription being ready to download and later provided login details, including a password sent by email. This was concerning from a security point of view, as I do not recall setting up a normal account myself.
When I logged in, the account area was confusing. My profile appeared as a “Guest”, even though I had been sent login details. I could not find a straightforward way to manage or cancel the subscription directly. The cancellation process directed me to contact support instead.
I contacted Rileo support and received a ticket number, but I also had to block Rileo through my bank to prevent any further payment attempts.
In my opinion, the service is presented in a way that can easily mislead customers into thinking they are paying for a one-off transcription, while a much higher recurring charge may follow.
I would advise anyone using this service to check the payment terms very carefully, monitor their bank account, and cancel or block any unwanted recurring payments immediately.
